Metropolitan Seminars In Art, Portfolio H, The War of Illusions by John Canaday. Published by The Metropolitan Museum Of Art, 1959. 29 pages plus Notes on the Painters and 12 loose prints that were originally issued with the book and are suitable for framing. Printed in the U.S.A. Black and white photos throughout text. Includes pronunciation guide. Hardcover book in good previously owned condition. Cover a bit faded/discoloured and has some wear including faint smudges, wear at top of spine. Pages may have slight foxing due to age. Color prints are in very good condition with slight discolouration on edges. Prints measure 9 3/8” X 12 3/8”. 12 color prints include: Madame Recamier, Christine Boyer, The Rest On The Flight Into Egypt, The Entombment of Atala, Francois Marius Granet, Jupiter And Thetis, Arab Rider Attacked By Lion, Stoke-By-Nayland, Coming From Evening Church, Interior At Petworth, Le Chant, Kindred Spirits.
