kiwis_clothier @karenscloset53 yes the strap fully detaches. It has an extra extender that can attach to strap or be fully removed (extended is attached to strap in picture)

kiwis_clothier @karenscloset53 the main long strap detaches with 3 holes on each side and no hardware. The extenders have 3 more holes and the gold hardware. Sorry if that's confusing. If your bag has the buckle hardware, the strap would work.
