EUC approx 9.5 inches diameter- measured on top. you can wear this however you like, lower on the head, more forward, to the rear, or even attach with bobby pins- this is a unisex hat. it is also a classic, iconic hat. I got this in France as a youngster. It has not been worn that much. it has never been washed- it is 100% wool. it's not itchy- its a very fine wool. the tag jsut says made in france- in french & 100% wool- in french. there is some lint on in in the photos, yes, but no flaws. I mostly enjoyed it as a part of my international art collection. see the photos.
