steveat Man bro, I grew up in southwest Detroit, not but a couple miles from tiger stadium, sweet Lou and trammel were so smooth at second and short, I’m 60 now and I can remember going to see mark the bird fidrych pitch in his first game there, exciting times back then :)

pd223125 @steveat absolutely, I'm just a little bit younger than you, grew up watching the Twins at Met Stadium, got Rod Carew's and Tony Oliva's autographs during batting practice, different times, better times. having seen Fidrych play is a rare treat as his career was short. I got to see him pitch as well. We didn't have competitive teams back then and when he came to town it was the only sell out of the year. up on the board, they put "Thanks Bird for filling our nest." 😄
