Fiery orange, small but mighty, celluloid, early plastic, maybe galalith (did not test as Bakelite but sure does look like it) brooch with accent compartment. This would make a fabulous hat pin (unisex) or lapel pin. Add a flower or feather to accessorize. The receptacle part is only about 1/2” deep. We don’t think that was the intention but it works. We love the color, ombré effect and cylindrical machine age design. Perhaps it is from the 20’s. Unique piece. Vintage brooch like none other.
