Vintage Italian aqua blue guilloche enamel silver pill box, 800 silver trinket

...box, small jewellery storage box A superb little silver pillbox or snuffbox, the top inset with guilloche enamel in a vibrant aqua blue in great condition. The inside of the box is unlined and would be perfect for a few pills, tiny trinkets, a naughty powder or couple small pieces of jewelry such as chain cufflinks, stud earrings or a fine chain necklace and pendant. There is a bit of space inside the box and it would fit an engagement ring fairly easily. This exquisite piece is a must-have for collectors and lovers of fine silverware. The little hinged box opens and closes on a friction clasp to the front. There is a touch of discoloration to the silver and a few small marks of age and use, such as light surface scratches etc. Both the lid and bottom are stamped ´81´ and (much smaller) ´800´ in an oval. The lid is also marked (star) 302 FI, which indicates the item was made in Italy, after 1968. The number is the registration number for the silversmith, in this case Bigiotterie Il Giardino di Casamonti Fulvio and the FI stands for the abbreviation of the place they were registered, Firenze
