La 🦓 Zebra, what a beautiful creature. This is a rare one indeed. This is a Linea Carta plate designed by Diva Pyari. Anthropologie’s Calligrapher Monogram Canape plates are elegant, collectible and completely sold out. Berkeley, CA calligrapher Diva Pyari was inspired by vintage flash cards she collected on her travels to create each unique plate. Measuring 6.5” in diameter, this stoneware plate has a gorgeous hand drawn zebra delicately colored in hues of black, grey. It’s astounding what she is able to achieve with shading alone. The print of this letter Z plate is very faded with an antique feel, it almost seems fragile intentionally with the design. Pyari’s masterful calligraphy anchors the design, with the words “La Zebra” and a tiny “fig 45” next to the zebra’s torso. It’s funny that she chose La for zebra because in French, zebra is masculine. The back of the plate has some markings.
