Antique Haviland Limoges 16 1/4" Serving Platter pre 1900 Pink, Blue,Yellow Forals
WOW! This antique piece is outstanding! There is a tiny chip on the underfoot but has no real affect.
16 1/4" long x 10 1/2" wide, stands about 1 1/2" high....fits a large turkey, ham but this piece should also be considered as a collectible and displayable item. Over 120 years old!!
CH Field Haviland is the decorating mark (trademark, identity) of Robert Haviland and C. Parlon. It will always be stamped on the back of every item as proof of manufacturer, sometimes alongside the pattern name, artists number, designers name, or pattern range.
Robert Haviland and C. Parlon have been using this mark since 1941 when it purchased the mark from a company called Gerard, Dufraisseix and Abbot which was derived from the original Charles Field Haviland company. Robert Haviland was the grandson of Charles Field Haviland.
Marks
From 1882 to 1900 the mark could be in red, green, blue, gray, brown or black with the letters "CH FIELD HAVILAND Limoges" inside the a double circle as follows -post 1900 the mark was made to be in RED. This plater has the blue mark and an additional CFH-GDM mark dating it pre 1900
