These Birdseye Maple plates were hand lathed by Mr. Herbert Leavitt in a small woodworking shop behind his home in Alberton, PEI. Canada. Mr. Leavitt, a Royal Canadian Air Force Veteran built a lathe and started turning wood as a hobby and eventually turned it into a business. He selected the finest woods with the most beautiful grain he could find and sold very limited quantities. He stopped making these plates in the 90s. Both plates are back stamped. The large plate is 9 3/4" diameter. The small plate is 6" diameter. Some wear and scratches from age and use.
