Escada was founded in 1978 by the former Swedish model Margareth Ley and her husband, the German businessman Wolfgang Ley. Margaret Ley was trained as a seamstress at the Royal Court in Stockholm, and therefore had a keen sense of what discerning women wanted. As head designer of the brand she created designs characterized by bold colour combinations, opulent embroidery and eye-catching pattern combinations - perfectly matching the extravagant style of the 80s. The first full Escada collection for women was presented in 1978. Features a total of 5 buttons to centre front, each has double E logo and ESCADA to each, also at bottom of each sleeve has a total of 3 buttons with same double E and ESCADA. Blazer has one flap pocket to each side. Blazer is fully lined in black rayon fabric with ESCADA’s double E logo throughout. Soft shoulder pads. Labelled size 38, equivalent to size 6.
