She comes in an original Gene Doll box with plastic stand, booklet and numbered Certificate of Authenticity (#06) The doll is made of a harder plastic and she is one of the earlier models as her arms and legs do not bend. This doll was brought out by the Ashton-Drake Galleries which made these dolls between 1995 and 2005. Made in China.
Condition: The original box with writing and some surface damage. The dress with creasing to the back from being in her box too long. Otherwise she looks in great shape!
"Gene Marshall is a 15.5 inch tall collectible fashion doll inspired by Hollywood's Golden Age. It was created by the illustrator Mel Odom. Each doll features an intricate movie-styled theme based upon fashions from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s as well as Hollywood's version of historical costuming.
When the Gene Marshall doll appeared on the market in 1995, it was one of the first large fashion dolls primarily intended for adult collectors. Its success sparked the creation of similar dolls from other companies."
