Handknit cabled beret in 100% wool

I knit up this beret in the spring this year but never ended up reaching for it because I'm not very drawn to the color. The pattern I used was the Rambler by Brooklyn Tweed, using Brooklyn Tweed Shelter (100% wool - Targhee-Columbia). I added an elastic thread to help it fit more snuggly around the head, but this could be easily removed if it's not to your taste. The way I have applied the thread it should be invisible from the front. I have taken a picture of the back versus the front to show how it looks when stretched. *I would recommend blocking it with a dinner plate to get the beret "drape" or it can be blocked to fit more like a touque
