As New; This book is a celebration of Metis culture including 'joie de vivre,' music and dance, family and love of the fiddle. It is based on Metis family life in the late 1940s. Linda Ducharme has long been interested in Metis culture, married a Metis, and while researching her family history was pleased to learn a great-grandmother was Metis. she used acrylic paints to do the illustrations for this book after doing extensive research to ensure the authenticity of the household furnishings, hairstyles, and clothing during this time in Canadian history.
