The carving retains its original tag and certificate of authenticity, which includes information about Navajo folk art traditions along with a photo and the name of the artist. The underside of the wooden base is hand-signed by the artist.
Hand-carved wooden figures created by self-taught Navajo artists are widely recognized as Navajo Folk Art, reflecting everyday life, animals, and cultural symbolism. In Navajo tradition, the rooster is often associated with the coming of morning and the beginning of a new day, symbolizing renewal, protection, and watchfulness.
Likely dating to the late 20th century (circa 1980s–1990s).
In excellent vintage condition, about 4 inches tall, hand-signed on the base, includes original tag and certificate of authenticity.
