About the book: It is a poignant novel about Fred Pickle, a middle-aged man with a brain injury living with his uncle on a sheep farm in rural Manitoba. Have not read but has sat on my shelf. Plot summary: The story follows Fred's life, particularly his love for his local NHL team and his annual creation of a backyard hockey rink. When the team's owner decides to move the team, Fred becomes involved in a scheme of vengeance against the owner, influenced by an old-school Marxist revolutionary.
