The gold tone metal is very sturdy and not thin or malleable at all. The Amethysts are very sparkly - as is the cut of the gold surrounding it. The Amethyst pendant and earrings are each 1” long and the gold tone chain is 18”. This set was bought in the mid 1970s as a gift, but put away in a drawer and forgot about!
