Vintage 1970’s Johnson Brothers Sugar & Spice Brown Dinner Plates Set of 7 England Dinnerware Made from 1974 - 1978 10” Each plate is hand-painted Plates have manufactures imperfections underneath 2 plates have a chip underneath (cannot be seen from top of plate) Marking underneath: Johnson Brothers / Stoke -On-Trent / Sugar and Spice / Made in England / Acid resisting / Dishwasher safe / Ironstone England’s Johnson Brothers produced this FABULOUS fanciful, quaint SUGAR AND SPICE pattern from 1974 to 1978. The various pieces display differing scenes of frolicking fanciful festooned people, and lots of colorful pears and fruit—all bordered by beautiful fields of patchwork flowers in brown and cream.
