Vintage .925 Sterling Silver Prayer Box Pendant with ornate scroll designs on all sides and cross on one side. Hinged lid with latch closure. Hallmark 925 and signed, it suspends along a 20" Sterling Silver Figaro chain 2mm necklace Hallmark ".925" "ITALY". The chain and pendant are absolutely beautiful quality and are in excellent vintage condition. The inside of the Silver Prayer Box is clean with some natural tarnish in the corners. The hinge and clasp are in fine working condition. This is a unique and special piece, with expert scrollwork carried out on all four sides + top, bottom and bale. Sterling Silver Prayer Box pendants were historically used to hold written prayers or wishes, and worn to keep a person's thoughts or desires close to their heart. Today, they are also used as sentimental jewelry to hold a special message, an affirmation, an inspirational quote, a loved one's note, or other tiny keepsakes.
