Vintage Alpaca / Llama 985 silver filligree brooch

Peruvian in style. Very detailed. 985 Silver: Composition: 985 silver is a higher purity silver alloy, containing 98.5% silver and 1.5% other metals. This is a less common standard than sterling silver (925) and is often used in higher-end jewelry. Properties: Like sterling silver, 985 silver is alloyed to improve durability while maintaining a relatively high silver content. It strikes a balance between the softness of pure silver and the added strength of alloyed silver. This piece is part of a collection of vintage jewelry which has been in storage since the '90s.
