Vintage Hand Carved Wood Elephant Tusk Bookends or Sculptures on Brass Bases

A pair of vintage hand-carved wood faux elephant tusk sculptures made from dark hardwood, likely rosewood. They feature a procession of elephants carved in deep relief on each side of the tusk and are mounted on square brass bases making them useful as functional bookends or decorative sculptures. There is no maker’s mark typical for this workshop-style carving. The brass base has 2 holes drilled in the base so the tusks can be moved a bit more to the centre if they are not being used as bookends.
