Vintage Soviet Zenit-E 35mm Camera, Helios-44-2 Lens + Case

Straight from the Cold War era, this made in the USSR camera is a unique piece for photography enthusiasts or for anyone collecting vintage 35mm. It is a rugged, durable and reliable camera. solidly built and fully mechanical – no batteries required. It was the mandatory camera for college photography students in the early 70’s. A great choice for film photographers wanting a hands-on manual shooting experience, the Zenit E features a manual focus and manual exposure system and comes with a built-in selenium-cell light meter. Its M42 screw mount allows for a vast number of M42 lenses, this one being sold with the original Helios 44-2. Condition: Untested with film and I’m not an expert, but here are my findings from an overall review: • The body of the camera is in very good condition with light cosmetic wear • Lens: No scratches, no fungus, no haze, but needs cleaning • Lens focusing and aperture movements are smooth and accurate • Shutter fires correctly • Film winding and rewinding operates normally • Lock on film compartment opens ans closes perfectly • Selenium-powered light meter works.
