This stunning, sleek black glass bird paperweight is a beautiful example of Mid-Century Modern glass design. Its smooth, minimalist silhouette and glossy black finish are highly characteristic of pieces produced by Wedgwood Glass in England during the 1970s/1980s, designed by figures like Ronald Stennett-Willson. Attribution: Consistent with the popular Wedgwood Glass bird model (often called "Fledgling" or "Bird"). While this piece is unmarked (the original sticker/etching is absent from the polished base), its style is a confirmed match to other Wedgwood pieces (as seen in the Google Lens results). Color & Finish: Deep, high-gloss black glass that appears dark blue in some lighting or around the edges (a typical effect of black glass). A highly polished finish catches light beautifully. Design: Features a smooth, rounded body and a gently tapered tail, embodying a classic, minimalist bird silhouette. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The base shows a ground/polished pontil mark where the sticker or acid-etched mark would have been. Measurements: Length (beak to tail): Approximately 4.75 inches (12 cm) Height (tallest point): Approximately 3 inches (7.5 cm)
