disconap@grakaoc hi! Actually, I haven’t ever seen these before. Are they from the Redwing Shoe company? That was my first thought, but then, using little flower pots to show shoe “glazes” seems a bit odd to me! I “liked” them because I have a bit of a fascination/obsession with traveling salesmen, it’s obviously a dead or dying line of work that seems almost like a lost art form! Anyhow, I’d love to hear more about them :)

grakaoc@disconap Red Wing Stone Ware Co was started in 1877 making crockery primarily for household food storage. They eventually made art pottery and dinnerware. These little pots, only 2.25” tall. They were carried in a case to show retailers what was available for colors. The flower pots were made in a 6, 8, 10 and 12 inch sizes. I have 3 of the largest, use one for a waste basket the others for shoes😉

grakaocBought at auctions decades ago. I was a member of the Stoneware Society for 10-12 years, have collections of art pottery and stoneware bowls. These little pots are so rare now that I could only find one for comps, sold for $676 at auction last spring. You might have some interest in looking at some of the dinnerware and art pottery, some pretty cool designs. Red Wing hired a woman, Belle Kogan, to produce the first commercial art pottery in the 1930s. Special stuff.
