styleluxe4less @michaelachick26 Hi Michaela! NO. NO. NO. I don't recommend EVER using an envelope! I received 2 envelopes from people recently. The first one was a very expensive dress, and you can bet it was extremely wrinkled! The second one actually showed up wet, and the contents (2 tops) had mildewed. I worked extremely hard to get the smell and stains out, because I wanted the 2 tops so bad and I didn't pay very much for them. But, the seller almost lost her money because Poshmark was ready to refund my money. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO USE ENVELOPES WHEN YOU CAN GET THE CORRECT BOXES DELIVERED TO YOUR HOUSE FOR FREE! Watch the video if you haven't already. :)

styleluxe4less @michaelachick26 The answer to your second question is found right in the video. And, you can watch it now directly from your phone or iPad. ;) But about your first question - the seller NEVER has to worry about shipping. It is always paid by the buyer. So, you just need to order your boxes in different sizes and be ready when the orders start coming in! And, of course the video tells you exactly which boxes to order and why.
Sep 15Reply

styleluxe4less @michaelachick26 Oh, I gothcha now, Michaela. YES, they are absolutely FREE. No shipping charges or anything. They come straight to your doorstep at NO COST to you! :) (which is why I tell everyone - There is NO reason why people should not use these!) Have a great day!
Sep 15Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @michaelachick26 Yes, you can definitely get that small box for accessories. I think they say it's for DVDs on the USPS.com website. It's great because it folds together without any additional tape. Fast and easy. And, yes make certain that none of the boxes you order have Flat Rate on them. You should be all set now! :)

I have a skirt that goes great with that top (& nothing else- LOL). But who knows? Maybe I'll sell the skirt, too! I'm getting rid of everything in my closet!

styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @coach_fan I contacted support last night about this, but i have not heard back from them yet. I thought of the way you could cancel this order. It's actually really easy, and you just started being able to do this VERY recently. All you do it go to My Purchases under the My Account tab (icon on far right with your username on it). Then, click My Purchases, click the actual purchase. When this listing comes up, click Problems/Order Inquiry at the bottom. The top choice says Accidental Purchase. You just click that and then it will confirm and then refund your money. Let me know if you are able to do that. :)
Oct 02Reply
coach_fan
coach_fan @styleluxe4less this is what it says: Accidental purchases can be cancelled within three hours of purchase. However, shipped orders can not be canceled. All cancellations are subject to Poshmark approval. So I'm not able to cancel it. I'll just never accept it. That way ill never be charged for it.

leny Thanks by the way! 😘😘😘
Oct 07Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @simoneh Hi Simone! Yes, Poshmark charges the flat rate to the buyer of $7. Sometimes they end up paying the overage on packages and sometimes it's less like for a package I sent a friend today that lives less than 10 miles away from me. But, the buyer always pays a flat rate. You should definitely watch the video, because you will understand it better than anyone! :)
Oct 07Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @leny Thanks! Glad it could help you. When I first saw that so many people were taking trips back and forth to the post office, I thought that was crazy. Who has time for that? :)
Oct 07Reply
leny
leny I actually did my first trip to the post office on Friday.... Still new and learning. But after this video I'm ordering my boxes... Even tho my selling skills aren't great yet. But it's like u say. Better to be prepared. @styleluxe4less 😉 thanks again!
Oct 07Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @leny I took a look at your closet, and the main issue is the number of followers. Out of 110,000 users on Poshmark, you only have 50 people that see when you list your items. I'm going to tag you in a listing I have that helps new people. Start following as many people as you can. Most will follow you back and you'll have more people seeing your listings.

Oct 07Reply

junk4dwi
junk4dwi Ok got a question I have a few packages ready to go but when I was dropping it at PO they weighed it and told me I owe postage because each box is 2 lbs over. How do I handle that do I go back and let the buyer know to pay the difference and how because they'll have to send me money via pM. And if right now I'm about to offer a bundle price but I know it's going to be over 3 lbs how do I quote them the price knowing shipping is going to be a problem since its over the 3 lb limit. Thanks again for your help. I did email PM support but in the meantime thought I'd ask the same question here.

I've been paying extra shipping, but something tells me that's not right--I lose my profit! What is the protocol on something like this? Thanks in advance!
Oct 07Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @mswhite56 Hey Karie! Ok, you have to look at the comments right before yours on this and do the same thing - go to the New to Poshmark post. Look at the very lengthy answers to this from Sept. 20 and Sept. 23 in the comments of the other listing.

reny1
reny1 Hi Robyn, maybe you can help me out. I have a really large bundle to ship out and I need to send in two separate boxes since is more then 3lb. I have contacted posh support 3 times already for help but no response. I would like to ship right away just to keep my customer happy. I have also updated her but I don't know what else to do. You have been of great help and more accessible so tought I would ask you. Thanks again 😊
Oct 12Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @reny1 Yes, you need to split the bundle into two shipments and have the buyer pay for shipping twice. What exactly are you shipping? I've sent a person 12 items before without going over the 3-lb. limit. Give me more info and I can help you with this. You may have to set up a listing for the buyer to pay another $7 for shipping. It's all on a case-by-case basis. Sometimes Poshmark will help with shipping, but that's usually with bigger items like wedding dresses, etc.
Oct 13Reply
reny1
reny1 @styleluxe4less thank you for your help I will tag you with the bundle so you can see all the items. There are several sweaters and about 4 pair of shoes

leny Hey! Just wanted to say thanks for all the tips! They really working out. My problem was no followers just like u said. I have one more question about the flat rate boxes I ordered from the mail. I understand about the flat rate shipping posh mark charges for every item. But what about if the item goes in a big flat rate box? Will the $7 charge will cover for it. Or it will calculate depending on the item? I'm confused! Or it just doesn't matter?

princess516
princess516 Hi, What is the website to order free boxes to ship it to your house?
Oct 16Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @princess516 USPS.com Watch the video for more instruction on which ones to get. You should be able to watch it right from your phone.
Oct 16Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @leny DON'T get the flat rate boxes! Get the Priority Regional Rate boxes. The video explains this in a lot more detail. You just have to make sure your package weighs less than 3 pounds. The $7 shipping the buyer pays covers all packages under 3 pounds. If it's over, you have to email Poshmark right away and ask them how to handle. They take it on a case-by-case basis, but if you're bundling tons of items together, they usually ask you to make the buyer pay for shipping twice. Hope this helps! Watch the video for further explanation.

carriek
carriek Finally received a response about shipping insurance. Packages are not insured through the post office but PM self insures all packages to protect the buyer and seller. Therefore if it is a high value item, we would get back what ever the person aid for it but like I said in an earlier comment, all packages can be insured through the post office as well at the cost of the seller! HTH!

girlfriendsgift Question most of the handbags I sell by the time you add the box weight weighs more than 3 pounds how do I get PM to pay for the true cost of shipping rather then me having to pay for it out of pocket? PM gets 20% of my sales I would think they would be willing to pay the additional shipping cost. Thanks
Nov 10Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @girlfriendsgift I'm not sure what kind of boxes you are using, but I can't see one handbag weighing 3 lbs. ??? Make sure you are using the right boxes. That could be the problem, I guess. I did a shipping video to help you get free boxes to your house. www.bitly.com/PoshmarkShipping Outside of that, you can contact support@poshmark.com to share your concerns with them. Hope this helps!

girlfriendsgift I sold a handbag and wallet that had chain link handles and it weighed 3.2 pounds so needless to say they charged me for 4 pounds. I ordered my boxes from USPS.
Nov 10Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @girlfriendsgift Pamela - Wow, that's a heavy purse. I'd get a good workout carrying that with all my junk pilled in there! :) Definitely contact support. They can tell you what to do. Just be cautious with your bundles. You may have to charge people shipping twice for larger ones. PS - Poshmark doesn't make money off of shipping. They usually end up footing the bill for the extra cost. I have more info on this on that other post in my closet, but I'll probably do a blog post on that soon. Feel free to share on this post what you hear from Poshmark. They take these things on a case-by-case basis (since some people stuff a box full of items in a trade, Poshmark makes $0, and then they actually lose money in the extra shipping they pay).
Nov 10Reply
girlfriendsgift
girlfriendsgift Okay thanks. I learned my lesson when I had someone buy two handbags and two pieces of jewelry and it weighed 7 pounds. Did not know we are not to bundle if it weighs over 3 pounds. Still learning as I go along. Thanks for your help.

chickykat
chickykat @styleluxe4less hi Robin...I hope I'm asking a Q that hasn't been covered yet--I looked n looked, but didn't see this subject touched upon...I made my first sale within 24 hrs of starting to list my items. It surprised me that it happened so fast that I wasn't prepared for shipping. I followed the steps by printing my label then the next day I got my box and when I went to ship, a point was made to me by the post office that I hadn't seen in the steps on Posh...that is--you only have 24 hrs to get your pkg shipped once the label has been printed. We're you aware
Dec 13Reply
chickykat
chickykat @styleluxe4less sorry...to continue...were you aware of this??? Thanks! Kat-
Dec 13Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @chickykat Hi Kathy! It's not true. Unfortunately, sometimes if you go into post offices, every one of them will tell you something different. I deal with a lot of different ones for my real business, an it's frustrating to be told one thing at one of them and something completely different at another. The label you get sent never changes and most people wait an average of 2-3 days before using it. I've never had a problem and I'm sure I've shipped over 100 packages at this point.
Dec 13Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @chickykat Kat - what ended up happening? Did they take your package? I actually never take them to the post office (but I did in the beginning). My mailman picks them up right off of my front porch.
Dec 13Reply
chickykat
chickykat @styleluxe4less then one last request...you mentioned tagging others w/a group of ladies to help them follow and be followed. My name was in a list of fifty-some ladies that you listed to start this forum on the video, I believe. Is this the type of list I would just hook up w/to follow/share, and hopefully be followed/shared??! Also just to put a word out...I try to write a thank you card or a little note with a thank you "goodie" in each box I send. Withe each box I receive, I find myself looking for a little note of thank but have only found ONE!!! It's a great sentiment of thanks, and if you can add a little token of thanks, or tie cute tule around the items it is really an AWESOME WARM N FUZZIE!! Only takes a sec!!
Dec 13Reply
chickykat
chickykat @styleluxe4less robin, I misspoke this was actually not taken into a post office. It was picked up by our carrier at work. I had 2 pkgs--one had a "current" label. The other was about 28 hrs old. That's when she said that it was supposed to be invalid after 24 hrs but that she would "take it & try stamping with the days date stamp and see if it would go through ok but don't be surprised if it gets returned"... I wasn't thinking clearly enough to say well hell--it doesn't have MY return addy, but Posh'....so?!! Time will tell. Thank you svm!!! I'm sorry I

styleluxe4less @animaluver116 Hi Emily! I personally leave a note in my mailbox that says to pick up the package off the porch, put up the red flag, and call it a day. I very rarely actually take it myself to the post office. Watch the shipping video for tons more helpful hints and how to get free boxes sent directly to your home. :)

animaluver116
animaluver116 So basically i leave it on my doorstep and the mailman picks it up?
Dec 23Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @animaluver116 I can't say that for sure, Emily. But, that's how it works for me. As long as your postman knows it's there, they should pick it up off your porch. :)

Jan 22Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @pink0505 Hi Dawn! The best way to find tips is to go through my closet and look at all the "word" listings like this one. There's tons of tips and info.
Jan 23Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @pink0505 The best thing you can do is start following a ton more people. Most will follow you back and you need more followers, so your things will sell quicker.

danishtexas
danishtexas Hi @styleluxe4less I'm going to watch your video now, I can see I've been messing up, buying my own boxes, shipping in envelopes, and the dumbest: not charging shipping on paypal, shipping from a Pack n Ship, and waisting what little I could have earned that way. Lesson learned. If you have time I'd like to be tagged in the other tutorial post you mentioned. I've been here a week, and just want to do it all right from the beginning. Thank you for being so helpful.
Mar 09Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @danishtexas Thanks for your kind words! If you want to not mess up any more, you should also stop selling on PayPal. It's not supported on Poshmark. The easiest way to find the other listings is to go through my closet and check out the photos with words instead of pictures.
Mar 09Reply
danishtexas
danishtexas @styleluxe4less I've just watched the video and read your blog, thanks again. I'll never do paypal again, it was my first sale and I just said "yes" when asked without thinking about it. Now I know better thanks to you and other kind PMers who have been nice enough to answer questions. I really like it in here. I might have spent 10-12 hours and only made $20 but it's been fun so far :)

hughesanon
hughesanon @styleluxe4less I LOVE this information! (...she says after using an envelope for the second and last time.) When I went to the post office they were SO helpful and asked tons of questions about this site - hopefully those ladies have gotten on here! I've never had a problem with an envelope, but not everyone gets their mail delivered inside their front porch (I forget this). Thanks!

antocloset1
antocloset1 @styleluxe4less Thank you for your response..you've been wonderful! I do have a problem though..there's a girl "fashionfreak85" on here who is writing all of my customers and followers writing horrible things to sabotage my closet. She's upset with me bc I warned a girl @fab_eye_candi about her being a scammer and so she lost the deal! She doesn't have any listings otherwise everyone would see what people would have to say about her. I've worked really hard for the past 4 months building my Poshmark to get to this following where I can finally sell...and I'm very distraught that this girl is ruining my reputation. I have invited many friends on here and have promoted this app as I work in the fashion industry too. Can you give advice on this? Obviously I won't be doing any good deeds by warning people anymore.

purityboutique Hello, I'm new here. (Three days new actually) I just finished watching your shipping video and still confused. In your video you said something about using the priority stickers for the address but I thought we were supposed to print out the pre-printed label from our email. Please help me to understand. I will be going to the post office today. Thank you.
Aug 20Reply
styleluxe4less
styleluxe4less @purityboutique Hi Queen! The stickers are to just help your package if you mail it in a plain envelope or box to show that it is Priority Mail. They have nothing to do with the shipping label. Use the Poshmark label and just stick right on the package. The stickers aren't necessary, just good to have in the future since they are free. Congrats on selling your first items am welcome to Poshmark!

styleluxe4less @elle17 Hi Elaine! I am following you now! And, I will share a few of your listings with my 100,000+ followers, because YOU and YOUR Closet are TOO cute! :) Also, I am going to tag you in another listing I started a year ago! It has tons of questions that people have asked and then I answered them. It's WAY too long, but it does have a lot of helpful information in it. Some of it is outdated now, because Poshmark has changed things, but I think it will be very helpful since you are so new! Welcome to Poshmark!

reinadeltoro @styleluxe4less Hi Robin! I tried to order boxes, but the post office only let's you order 1 box at a time. Our mailman is super nice and he said he can bring some boxes to me tomorrow so you might want to add to your tips for others (hoping their Mailman is as nice as ours). Thanks again for the video. I'm super new!!!
