pink_coconut I have a clotting disorder that they can't diagnose because when they tried taking me off my blood thinners, my lungs started filling up with clots immediately! So weird! So, I they can't tell me the actual name of my clotting disorder! It sucks being sick! I'm on permanent disability, & get medical thru the state THANK GOD!!! But, the disability money simply sucks! My daughter and I are living with my mom. 😕 It's the only way to kinda get by. Plus we lost soooooo much in hurricane Sandy, I'm trying to slowly pick up the pieces. I'm sorry you're sick too hun. Do you work? Do you have any insurance? I'm sure you've looked into getting some kind of assistance with your medical bills. Some hospitals have a patient care program (or something like that...I don't remember exactly what it was called) but they offer free everything for a year, until you go again the next year to re-register. Even pharmacy!! Just trying to help you hun. I know it's scary & hard! Idk what I'd do if I didn't have full coverage. I wouldn't be able to pay. Anyway, if you'd like to talk...I'm always a closet away! 😄😘💖😊~Amy

savvyj @pink_coconut thanks so much for the info Amy! I've had ITP for most of my life but the last to years have been rough! I'm thankfully still on my parents medical insurance and that really helps even with insurance the cost has gone up so much. My disease is probably like what you deal with. My body eliminates its platelets. Ugh I will keep you in my prayers. I'm in the Houston area and know what hurricanes can be like! Prayers for you and your family! My closet is always open to you also! Thanks!

stylelovit @pink_coconut @savvyj Yes small world. No I haven't visited maybe some day. My disease is called Factor Five Leiden - Heterozygote--which means I clot at 10 times the normal rate---but I am also Protein S deficient -- which means even on blood thinners I can still produce clots. I tagged pink because I had 6 years of no diagnosis-- but they must check your blood for specific disorders & you can't be on any thinners .. Otherwise it will throw off your results. If your developing clots .. It means you have to much Factor Five in your blood.. It attacks itself..& it is a genetic disorder- that is highly affected by hormones. Hope that helps.. When I was diagnosed there was no info out there, but now there are groups online & lots of info. Let me know if I can help in any way! Lol sorry to write a book!😜

I have ITP which is also an autoimmune disease were my body eliminates my platelets! When it's bad it's so draining. I always trying and remember there are so many that have it worse than I do! We were in your neck of the woods last summer and boy it was beautiful. We drove from Houston to Seattle and what an adventure we had. We stopped in many towns in Oregon and I loved it! We drove right by Mt Shasta and it was breath taking! Houston doesn't have views like that but there are parts of Texas that are amazing and our people are wonderful here! I don't think I could handle the cold! I about froze today and we are talking about South Texas Lol!!!! I love my heat and we have the best doctors in the world here! My doctor has a map up in her office showing where her patients live all over the world! I am blessed to have her! I've had ITP since I was five years old. Ugh well it's late in Texas girl I better go💤💤bye for now Lori👋talk soon

It was the coolest thing watching all these Texas kids screaming, running around acting wild at the sight. One little kids screamed thank you Jesus! Last year they closed schools and called it the blizzard of 2012 and we didn't get one snowflake❄hehe

You're absolutely right about Texas having the kindest ppl, I'm from a small town in NJ ..Weehawken Nj. I lived right across the Hudson River from Ny city and you really don't find that many kind ppl around there lol. When I first arrived to Austin I was amazed by how happy and nice ppl were to me❤, it really does make a difference when someone greets you with a smile lol I wasn't used to that. I wish you a speed recovery, have faith. Faith moves mountains 🌹.

So glad you love it here and Austin is beautiful!!! I modeled in New York and spent some time there! I was expecting the people to not be so nice but they were wonderful!!! 3914 So Sorry Miss Savanna ! To hear about your disease! I too live with a very rare form of a disease , Muscular Dystrophy . People usually think that only little kids get this but it's not true , there are 42 kinds of this disorder . It ran in my immediate family . So I will pray for you even though we do not know each other ! It is difficult living with any disease and prayers do help ! So God Bless you Honey !!! I love jeans and know its hard to buy online just be sure and have them measure for you then compare to your sweeties favorite pair. Measure waist, hips and thigh just to make sure! There are lot damaged mentally ill people in the world (trust me I see them daily in my ER work)...the whole thing made me feel yucky, and I'm sorry she found your soft spot and fed on it :( I had one girl start trying that with me when I first came to Posh.. I told her the item would be released at noon Friday..so Friday came, I released the hold... She started begging, and telling me how cute I was etc... Creeped me out, so I immediately blocked her before it got too nuts..don't be afraid to use that blocking tool..it works wonders to keep the crazy out of your closet :) take care, talk to you Thursday morning!

laineyskye As for your med bills, have you talked to the billing dept at your facility? A lot of them will work with you and/or have programs set up for assistance. I have major back and neck issues from a car accident years ago, and I know how quickly those bills can add up!

zippy14u @savvyj This was years ago(early 70s) I had Thrombocytopenia( internal bleeding) They ran tests to see if I had leukemia, which I didn't. What it came down to was my spleen was destroying the platelets and my blood would not clot. I would bleed under m skin ( red splotches) and bruises would take forever to heal. Periods were like hemorrhages. Last resort was to remove my spleen. And here I am, 62 and 5 children later. My reason for telling you this is to give you hope and that is my prayer for you.

savvyj @zippy14u wow we have the same disease!! I have Idiopathic thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP) I've had it since I was five. My platelets were 50,000 last week and I see the doctor on the 18th. They have so many options now that a splenectomy is last on my list and chemo is next. Thanks so much for the encouragement! It really helps! It gets old and my mom worries to death. But I'm a Christian and I know God has a plan for me. I'm studying to be a nurse to help children with ITP! Thanks again your a doll! Much love and happiness 💋💋

Finally my general practitioner had me referred to UC San Francisco hospital for more treatment and finally surgery. I was on steroids before and after. Side affects were not pleasant. But I got through it.

savvyj @zippy14u oh yes! Sounds like my life! I've been on steroids for a year and can't fit in any of my jeans😹blood tests weekly and I had to turn down several scholarships because I was very ill! At least I live in Houston and my hematologist is the best in the world. I'm on posh because the chemo I'm going on is very expensive and hoping posh sales will help pay. My doctor tells me this is the only way to cure ITP is with Rituxan (chemo used for transplant recipients). If that doesn't work then I will have my spleen removed. 15% chance the platelets are eliminated in the liver. In Europe they test to see where they are being removed and its not offered here! I'm scared I will remove and still have ITP! Ugh I just keep living and know one day it will be behind me. Do you know what caused your ITP ? I had a terrible virus that caused it or possibly a vaccine caused it. We will never know

zippy14u @savvyj : No one really knew for sure what the cause for mine. One theory was that I was exposed to chemicals that my father used(he was a strawberry share cropper) Another was the use of aspirin (yes, something that simple) Chemo was never an option for treatment for me. When the option of surgery was presented, my only concern was the bleeding, of course. I was told that when my spleen is being removed, they cauterize the end. Your liver then takes over the job of filtering your blood. When all this happened, I was not married, nor had any plans to. Wouldn't want that burden on anyone.

Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) is a genetic disorder of the blood vessels, which affects approximately 1 in 5,000 people. It affects males and females from all racial and ethnic groups. The disorder is also sometimes referred to as Osler-Weber-Rendu (OWR) after several doctors who studied HHT about 100 years ago. It helped our family when my Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Miracle happened she beat the cancer. God Bless you always.

savvyj @maxedout Hey sugar sorry I'm so late! I was downtown Houston at my hematologist appointment. Then I had to close the doors to the Galleria! Lol like I need more clothes! Haha yes I was treated at Texas Children's from the time I was diagnosed age 5 until I was about 10 years old. Know I see the best doctor in the world Dr Kelty Baker and she is amazing. I lived very close to the woodlands in fact my town backs up to it! Love it here!!! You should have moved here! It's amazing😍

maxedout What a co-inkie-dink😉 we were at the time--workin with realtor etc--but that spring the ALF came to our area for conference n found out the pedi specialists here moved to #1 rankings so stayed put, woodlands looked awesome tho😍
