marls @apergoli nice! Im an RN too but not on surgery, im work on telemetry! Yay! Oh maybe i could ask u about another problem of mine. Lol. Im not too familiar with ortho cases. U familiar with trigger thumb or de quervains? I postponed my treatment for that since this surgery is more urgent as compared to my tendon problem. As for the shares, you're welcome!

apergoli Omg what a small world!!!! I've floated to tele a few times- not easy! Haven't gotten any trigger finger cases in last 4 yrs I've been an RN- but if u have a specific question, I can always find out an answer for u- we have great ortho where I work

marls @apergoli u will find a lot of nurses here! U could just even type in "nurse..." Coz some of their usernames start with nurse hehe.. Well im confused still coz primary doc said de quervains then hand surgeon said trigger thumb...i got a steroid shot a month ago, it did help the pain but didnt completely resolve. The lump on the base of my thumb never went away. No fractures on xray. Question is how come i still hv the lump? If its only inflam, shouldnt it hv gone away after the steroid shot? My next visit is moved due to my upcoming surgey unfortunately 😔. Doc said, its either another steroid shot or surgery...waah!

apergoli Hmmmm the shots should work if just inflammation- I'd try one more time, but have have a feeling the doc is right:(..... And I did figure there had to be a bunch of nurses👍 We're all over!!! Lol

marls @apergoli but the lump should have gone away if its just inflam right? Anyways maybe i just need the 2nd shot. U know how hard our work is. I gotta make sure my hands are fully healed before i lift and pull patients again. Coz my floor is a neurotele unit so we get a lot of stroke patients too...see i told yah! Lot of nurses! Doing posh on the side. Lol or maybe shopping! Haha

apergoli Yes it should have, but never hurts to try one more shot; ur right our work is very physical so u have to be able to use ur hands! Neuro tele is hard- u must be a very good nurse:) Mine is tough bc people can't move lol

marls @apergoli yay! I heard ortho is hard too and of cors more physical...believe me ive hurt both hands already. Left wrist before, now its my right hand 😰 im too small frame for the job maybe. 5ft and lifting stroke patients. Tsk. Coz of this im thinking of moving to a lighter floor, i dunno yet coz im so used to tele. I heard L&D or mother & baby should be easier. Seems u like ur floor. But guess a lot of prn pain meds! I had surgery last dec and from then i understand that post op pain is no joke! Recovery is more difficult than the actual surgery

apergoli I hear L&D is a whole other monster! Lol u have to love it- and yes LOTS of prn pain meds- too much! Recovery is the very worst! Knees r very painful from what my PTs tell me

marls @apergoli well its true. Even just the post op wound is such a pain! But u're right about L&D, gotta like it. Its more on the physical challenge for me on neurotele. They're just literally too heavy. Will need to think about my move..

apergoli For sure!! U might wanna consider out pt surgery- prep them and then get them back after- monitor and they're off! Not too physical or taxing ( endoscopy is one good outpt sector u could look into)
