Here's the deal, if I'm shopping in a store and am walking around picking things up I like and might want to buy, an employee is NOT going to come up to me and ask if I'm "interesting in buying?" or if I'm "interested?" as I stand there with it in my hand. They probably aren't gonna thank me for liking it either but at least if they did it doesn't sound as desperate, pushy and annoying. So sellers, please STOP this. It's personally a huge turn off and a fast way to lose your potential sale. 🙊🙊

A like doesn't equal me interested in buying your clothes, sometimes it just means for later or maybe even to remember it for a certain reason to find somewhere else or what not! It's such an issue on here. I rarely give business to anyone who asks.

kayblinky@jenndearscloset you are totally right. Before I like something I usually now check out that persons profile before, to see if they hound people or if that's their style. I tend to not like something if that's how they are because it just annoys me. To me it's so desperate, but to them they might just feel like they're being nice! So a great debate it will remain, but personally for me I'm not into hounding people after a like. If they like it, it saves into their likes and can ask me questions if anything pops up :)

And i use to never ask anyone if they were interested simply bc they liked something of mine; and I would be very annoyed when others didnt follow suite. However I read several other blogs and postings regarding the same thing. Most poshers will "like" an item as a way to show their interest. When you reply back to them asking if they are interested, most feel like this is an attentive action and not being annoying or bothersome. Some would even be annoyed if you wouldn't respond to a "like". They say it shows you are serious about selling your items and active in posh. So I am on the fence with my feelings on responding to likes. I just thought I would share what I have read and picked up on in the several months I have been on posh. Some fellow poshers can be rather annoying with their responses; but most of the usual / repeat closets I buy from are wonderful. @b_love , @serahnee are two sellersI really love.

kayblinky@kmcdonnell17 I can see that but anyone that if they're simply acknowledging my like and letting me know they're active I appreciate a "thanks for the like!" or even "let me know if you have questions" rather than a "you interested? Make an offer and ill ship tomorrow" type response. To me that just screams desperation and I find that really annoying. People should also get that a like doesn't mean a buy. I like a lot of things that I have no intention of buying to show them that they've for a great closet, style, maybe even I wanna remember them for later when I have money to spend. It's really all about how they phrase it!

kmcdonnell17Yes I complete agree!! I try to word my response just like you said." Thanks for the like; please let me know if you have any questions. ". It would e like if you actually go to the boutique the sales person following you around and trying to bag up every item you look at! Sometimes I put items in my "likes" so I can look at them later and compare other items similar for pricing and quality, ect. I think you and I will posh very happily together!

tina2luvOmg I'm guilty of this big time! Lol I just do it for my records so I can follow up w them as w many likes people forget, I must say that 80% of the people I asked bought the item only until I reached out to them. I buy items in posh as well and u like it when they ask me as I'm surfing try tons of closets. And usually I will buy from the ones that contacted me as I feel the other ones didn't even care if I like it. I guess asking if interested? Is shorter and quicker.., but what we should write is " thx fir visiting my closet, keep checking and if interested just ask any questions" and that's it but is too long lol.... I need to improve on this. But thanks for sharing your point of view, I have tried not to ask at times and Only until I do is when they move forward w the purchase lol is just very strange ...

tiaclarkI think I am guilty of this too! I don't want to annoy anyone, but then again I don't want to ignore anyone!😊 I usually say thanks for the like lmk if your interested. I know sometimes when I like someone's item it's cause I'm interested in buying and usually they respond, but them again I get people that don't respond when I do like and want to purchase something. I will write a message saying I'm interested in purchasing and don't get a response so then I dislike their item. I hope I didn't annoy anyone or offend anyone.😊

I don't appreciate pushiness. I don't mind when someone thanks me for liking, but overly aggressive is just sad.

angelleoniShe lied when she said they haven't refunded her card- she has done ALOT of these and wouldn't of still been doing it if it didn't work- she should of just been honest anyway her closet will be closed I reported her and sent screenshots of her telling people how to do it- some people just don't get it until their closet is closed- maybe posh can explain it better when she gets that email like you did- The others I did not report because they were nice & honest😜

lina47I figured I should move this convo out of the other user's listing, hope you don't mind! @kayblinky ohh gotchu. haha yeah I'm trying to figure out my size at VS because my "band" measurement according to their fitting video is 29 to 30, but their little number inputter thing doesn't accept lower than 32. So I really have no idea. If I put in 32 and then my "bust" number, it says 32B, but then when I went to a store, they measured me as a 32D so I'm just really confused haha! I have 3 of their 32C bras but the cups are too small. So I'm wary of buying without trying it on, but the store prices are so expensive so PM has been really tempting lol

I find that Posh Etiquette is somewhat duplicitous though because in their "✔️Do's and ✔️Don'ts" they say they say exactly the following: ✔️DO "Do respond to those interested in your listing in a timely manner and fabulous fashion!" The next statement then says, ❌DON'T "Don't ask a user if they're interested simply because she liked your listing." Therefore Kathleen has a valid point and so do you Kayla. I don't know what I'm supposed to say or how I'm to appropriately respond now! Those two statements are somewhat conflicting! I try my hardest to be nice. I don't mass tag EVER, sell fakes, use Paypal, or anything against the rules. I will say I do like it when someone reminds me of a "like" I forgot about. So what do you think? Thanks for posting this, it's obviously a provocative issue. I would love to hear your honest opinion, seriously. Where do we draw the line? We are supposedly to "respond in a timely manner if someone shows interest in your item" so I'm now assuming that a "like" is not interest, however a question may be? Does that sound right? Help!!! And, yes, your dog is simply the cutest! I want one so badly, but I have an aging Boston Terrier so I think I may wait a bit. I just had to say say something about your baby! petunia07I admit, I use too but stopped with interested and just started saying thank you for visiting and liking my closet. That way I acknowledge but don't push :). Plus usually if someone likes something in my closet now I visit and find my own likes in their closet :)
