abrantho @chefnac fantastic! That is an exciting new chapter for you I am sure! I suggest spending some time on google looking at animal shelters and rescues in your area. Research what their histories are what their mission is. Find an organization that would be a good fit for you and get involved :-)

abrantho @mikeandjenny25 isn't that the truth?! I actually rescued my first dog when I moved half way across the country out of college for a job. Rescuing my Inca was such a moving experience for me I'm now all about dog rescue! Ive since worked in dog shelters and am now wanting to start my own rescue! Thus far I have the land and the building and the smarts ;-) keep up the great work!!

abrantho @minaluvshoes thank you. This really isnt a job tho. I have a regular 40 hour a week job that I do to pay the bills. Posh significantly helps me kee up with vet bills believe it or not. There are so many dogs in need- an estimated 30-35,000 alone in Detroit. Adopt! Spay & neuter! :)

abrantho @stlbecca oh wow that is a good find! I can lower to 35 but now much more as I did pay full price for it at one time. It still has its tags and everything on it- still new :) ill let you know if I ever drop it down that low. I use this as a way to keep up with vet bills from dogs I rescue... each dollar helps them out oodles so I try to not take a huge hit each time. Thanks!!

mdamsterlennox He's so adorable and it is amazing of you to help foster dogs- especially these block heads since so many fear pits and pit crosses. They can be the nicest most loyal dogs given the right upbringing! I too rescue animals. Currently have a blind calf, six cats, and three dogs- all but one dog are rescues! It makes life even sweeter to share the love.

I feel bad for this breed of dog, because of how it's abused & misused. I have a friend who has a pit, and he's a big baby. :) She trained him to be good, and he is. abrantho @tonyamicginni Nahhh- I am not that great. Seriously- my community just has a need and someone has to do it... I've said it before and I will say it again- if everyone found something they were passionate about in their area- some sort of Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, volunteering at a local food bank or animal shelter, heck, even making dinner for the elderly couple down the block- if everyone found one thing like that and donated even just an hour of their time a week the world would just be a million times better. :-) (I just have more free time than most at the moment. May as well use it for some good, ya know?)

I found a need in my community and I am trying to just make my little difference in the world... If everyone would just find one thing in their own community they could become passionate about- from helping at a soup kitchen to running a clothing drive to even just getting the mail for the elderly couple down the street- our world would be such a better place!!

eden3633 My husband and I currently house 15 (14dogs/1cat)...we are in the same boat with trying to pay for medical and maintenance...if you live near a feed store you can get shots and heartworm and flea meds so much cheaper than the vet...it cost us $45 to heartworm everyone last week...might be worth looking into... abrantho @camocrazy17 they are good at taking any extra funding out of the pocket, but it's so rewarding. Wouldn't want it any other way!! I'm an ex zoo trainer, so I have a soft spot for exotics. We have a reptile room in our home and never turn away an in need tarantula !! (They are often impulse buys by other people and they get bored of them...)

mycelle21 I have 2 dogs, A Border Collie/Chow & a 1 year old Baby Pit! We left them home alone with no Peoples and my Pit bull re arranged our furniture! She drug an 8X10 ft rug and the HEAVY Leather Chair From Living rm to the Kitchen.Then pooped ( never done) right where he sits. I love her like one of my kids,Had to sneak off to buy her. Now we fight :) over her! Been hinting I want to adopt a White or a Brown W/ Dark Brown eyes Pit Bull. And Your photo (Profile with BOTH) is Freakin me out!
