ball_mom Hey! I need some friendly advice. I have had two different people tell me today that their credit card just doesn't work on this site. It sounds fishy, but I was wondering if you had ever experienced this yourself. Any ideas?

navarrecharm @ball_mom - hmmm. I have never had anyone say that to me- but it seems extremely fishy. I am guessing they therefor want you to use paypal or take the transaction off Posh?

ball_mom You guessed it! It's just odd that it's popped up twice in one day. I didn't know if there was truly some tech issue going on with Posh that I am unaware of. (I teach online, so I know that sometimes tech does fail us, so my radar went up when 2 different people sent the same message in less than 6 hours.) Thanks for letting me know it's not some widespread, legit issue!

navarrecharm @ball_mom - yeah I would say red flags all over this. I think if there was any type of issue Posh would be on it! Posh is such a tricky world- you want to believe people, but we all know there are just a lot of scammers out there! 😞 Can I ask what you teach online?

ball_mom I know! I sooo try to find the good in everyone! I asked what specifically her issue was (the second person), but I haven't heard a thing since. I work for our state department of education and teach high school English. We serve kids who are enrolled in private, public, or home schools across our state and supplement their curriculum in whatever way they need. I've been doing this for about 3 years and absolutely love it!

navarrecharm @ball_mom - sometimes I am so curious why these people are so interested in only using paypal- which seems less protected for them. Who knows? It's hard though because you want to make the sale- but you just can't let your standards slip. Your job sounds great. A friend of mine is an online teacher and loves it as well. My hubby just got his masters entirely online. And he is currently looking into semi-online PhD programs. It seems like schooling online just makes sense for so many people. 👍I wonder how it will change the school system as we currently know it?

ball_mom Oh, now you are truly speaking my love language! Ha! I think it's going to change education in ways we can't even imagine yet. I suspect that colleges will quickly begin to develop entire degrees in online education. My current position allows me to teach students who have been slipping through the cracks for far too long. This semester I have a girl who is in and out of the hospital with a chronic illness and a boy who is in prison for the next ten years. Neither of these would have been successful in our traditional educational system, but both are excelling through this opportunity. There are so many success stories of the kids that online education can help. I think of my own kids as they approach the high school years. They can take courses over the summer to lighten a load the next year. They can use it to resolve scheduling conflicts. The possibilities are endless. When I first took the job, I was nervous that it was just a fad, but now I think online is here to stay! Hallelujah!
