bendthetrends
bendthetrends @pm_editor LOVE the new shipping rates! Equally good for sellers and buyers. HATE the new flat rate commission on items $15 or under. We will be making less on these items and Posh will be making more. I'm sorry but, making $0.05 on a $3 item isn't going to cut it for me. This is forcing us to raise our prices on lower cost items. Not good for our buyers!

pm_editor @randie21 Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts. We completely hear your point. We made changes to the commission for orders less than $15 so we could continue to deliver a great user experience for these lower-priced orders, including USPS 2-3 Priority Mail shipping and Posh Protect. At the same time, we also lowered buyer shipping fees to attract more buyers and help you sell more items in your closet. We believe this is a positive change all around that will encourage more bundles to be sold while buyers enjoy a lower shipping rate.

nonna122015
nonna122015 Can someone please tell me how we aren't losing money on items $14 and under???? If you're taking a flat rate of 2.95 for items $15 and under that means a listing I have for $5 instead of me making $4 I will only be making $2.15!! And if I have a listing for just $3 I will only make 5 cents???? That's insane !!! So are you trying to make posh a place now where only designer items priced high to begin will be the only option to make any money from? It seems like you're trying to edge out people with lower prices items or forcing people to raise their prices just to make a profit. Explain PLEASE!!!!
Mar 18Reply
nonna122015
nonna122015 So apparently your way of thinking is to "encourage" bundling hence making YOU more money not the seller...for those of you thinking this a grand idea should really do the math this is only good for Poshmark not the sellers!!
Mar 18Reply
nonna122015
nonna122015 @randie21 it appears we are the only ones that can see through this "change"....😉
Mar 18Reply
bendthetrends
bendthetrends @danipage Yes, it does!!! I think the new shipping fees are awesome but I will no longer be able to offer a lot of my items at a great price for my buyers. I'm sorry but, making five cents on an item that's worth $3 isn't going to work for me.
Mar 18Reply
leather_sequins
leather_sequins So...if something is listed for $6 - nearly 50% is taken. Can't say that this "new commission" is anything to get excited about. On a $15 order PM takes 2.95 rather than $3. Giving us an extra nickel isn't something to get excited about.
Mar 18Reply
sagesister
sagesister @danipage It seems like instead of charging the buyer those $2 of the shipping, they decided to take it from the seller with this new commission plan? Which sucks for anyone with a mostly low-priced closet.
Mar 18Reply
ecg0303
ecg0303 @randie21 @danipage I completely agree! These are only positive changes for Poshmark, not the sellers or buyers! Sellers are going to have to increase prices to make any money! There are plenty of apps like this and Poshmark is just going to push people to shop elsewhere!
Mar 18Reply
leather_sequins
leather_sequins @randie21 @danipage @pm_editor 👆Some kinks need to be worked out here...
Mar 18Reply

Mar 18Reply
nonna122015
nonna122015 @randie21 yea u just emailed mannish and said it'll cost more for the piece of paper and ink to print out a freakin' label!! Well I guess their thinking is to giveth (as in better shipping rates) they must taketh (as in crappy profits) ...it's getting ridiculous around here. Of course the posh pets that sell high priced items will enjoy this and get on the band wagon but what about those of us that are realistic and price our items reasonable I mean come on all of posher's stuff is mostly used we can see that that's why we price our items at a lower rate but others live in a bubble and price their used items high. Looks like we will have to jump on the band wagon raise our prices sky high or jump off and go to eBay.
Mar 18Reply
nonna122015
nonna122015 @randie21 typo up there I meant "I" emailed mannish
Mar 18Reply
pm_editor
pm_editor @danipage We appreciate you sharing your thoughts here. In addition to the reasons explained in one of the above comments, one of the reasons we made this changes that hasn't been discussed much was to give sellers more freedom in creating heavy bundles with our new 5 lb. weight limit, hence selling more from their closet, and to give sellers more freedom with their pricing while buyers enjoy lower pricing. We understand this change will take some getting used to and hope all Poshers will enjoy the benefits that this commission change has allowed us to make.
Mar 18Reply
bendthetrends
bendthetrends @danipage Absolutely! Some items just simply aren't worth more than our $5 or $3 (plus shipping) asking price.

Mar 18Reply
nonna122015
nonna122015 Here's my issue what if they DON'T want to bundle???? I go into plenty of closets on here and only see one item I want it's actually a rarity I ever bundle. I have spent ALOT of money on here (you're welcome) but I will refuse to pay $20 for a pair of $5 earrings because the seller was forced to raise her prices just to make a profit because of your new flat rates. I also don't want to be forced into bundling if I don't want to. I will be seeing a lot more bundling listings on here I'm sure that's really the only way now to make a profit. So those $3 earrings I was selling will now have to be sold in a listing with a shirt and shoes just to make a profit. It's like a freakin' rooms to go now but with clothes and accessories I suppose eh???😳
Mar 18Reply
leather_sequins
leather_sequins @pm_editor Thank you for the response. What I'm hearing and reading is this is geared mostly towards the buyer. Offering $2 less for shipping is not going to suddenly make someone more inclined to buy that $45 dress. They're either going to spend the $45 or not. Seems as though there aren't any positive changes for sellers or better yet - businesses. Which is what we are - we don't sell used items out of a closet. This an actual, online, registered, licensed business. Can't say that we agree wholeheartedly with the new changes.
Mar 18Reply
nonna122015
nonna122015 @randie21 well there goes half my closet if not all of my closet because my items are for the most part $20 and under. I'll be closing my closet sooner than next month now there's just now point I refuse to scam people on here and raise my prices sky high it's bs

Mar 18Reply
bendthetrends
bendthetrends @danipage It is BS! I will just have to find a better way to market my lower priced items. I love Poshmark and the community. I will be staying on, just doing things a little differently I guess. Hopefully, buyers won't have a problem buying if the item is a little more pricey but the shipping is cheaper for them. I do LOVE that they finally changed the shipping policy. They should have just stopped at that!

leather_sequins @pm_editor What I personally would suggest and would like to see - is a one step check out for MULTIPLE sellers with the same lower shipping price. thejeweladdict
thejeweladdict Hello, I love that Poshmark is listening and trying to make positive changes. The 4.95 shipping will help tremendously. However, the new commission rates will essentially kill me. I am a top 10% seller on poshmark! I have poured my heart and soul into this app for over a year now. It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to sell on posh and this new change may result in me eventually having to leave. I have hundreds of listings in my closet that are priced from $5 to $14. I do not want to raise the price of $8 earrings just so that I can make a profit with the new 2.95 commission for under $15. I have thousands of dollars in inventory that I will lose because on a $5 pair of earrings, posh takes 2.95 and I then make no profit because of the inventory cost. Honestly, I'm not one to complain. I understand it's hard to please everyone and businesses have the difficult task of trying to make a decision that will help the majority. I normally don''t complain, but I felt that this commission change is a critical turning point for me as far as how much longer I can hang in there.

pookiebeau
pookiebeau I was quite hopeful of good changes to come after yesterday and I guess it's true that you can't get the good without the bad. For those of us who aren't fortunate enough to afford to list higher end items we are at the losing end of this. Half of my closet if not more is $15 or less so I'll be making even less profit than before just trying to sell off my items! The rest of the changes are beyond amazing and all we have been asking for since you all first changed the shipping a long time ago. But now I am feeling even less excited about my decision to stay on posh and now I worry more for my dad's closet who also sells mainly $15 & under items. People just aren't bundling like they use to and I can see that you all are trying to make it more "posh" like it use to be but I fear this will only continue to make people change to different selling apps.
Mar 18Reply
katjo
katjo Up to 5 pounds FREE?! Are you serious?!! What a huge difference from the 2 lb limit! I just spent over $9 on a bundle upgraded shipping label last week! I'm thrilled about the $4.99 flat shipping rate on all sales. I think many items below $25 were difficult to sell because of the $7 shipping charge, not any more!!! It's very cool that the USPS has added Poshmark to it's short list of e-commerce companies that they have made a private shipping label for. Previously only EBay and Amazon and now POSHMARK!!! This just shows that even the USPS believes in and recognizes Poshmark as a stellar e-commerce Company. Way to go Poshmark...YOU ROCK!!!🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆❤️

bekiry
bekiry The change is good for buyers and esp poshmark ( I am more of a buyer ) but its not going to " continue to deliver a good user experience for lower priced " sellers. But hey who are we to complain. We should just take it or leave poshmark. No one forced us to be here.
Mar 18Reply
blancaeq
blancaeq @lilamia15 so the shipping is better but commission on anything $15 and under is worse?

Mar 18Reply
thejeweladdict
thejeweladdict I truly appreciate you taking the time to respond, but no, it doesn't ease my concerns. This will severely impact me and others who sell a lot of lower priced items. If I raise prices to compensate for my loss, people will just see a very overpriced closet. I wish you could have at least kept the commission rate at 20% for those selling $5 and up, as that would cover most people.
Mar 18Reply

mfanning
mfanning Love the new shipping rates on all orders and the new increased 5lbs shipping weight--huge selling point for bundles! I completely understand why you implemented a flat-rate commission on orders under $15 from a business standpoint, but it will make me reconsider which items I post. I have a few items under the $15 mark and now I will either remove them from my closet or raise their prices. All part of an evolving, growing app.

laruesboutique @tareynolds @ashley1985 @bnsfpd4 🎉WOOT WOOT! 🎊 Lately I have been so pleased with Poshmark! Being on Poshmark for a year now, this is by far the best changes/updates to the program! First, they surprised me with a AWESOME update that makes it easier for navigation within closets. Now, they have reduced shipping to $4.99 for ALL orders & raised the limit to 5lbs!!! This is absolutely amazing! Poshmark actually listens to their members (no other selling site has ever done this for me)! I am really excited to see the sales go up and actually buy a few things I've been wanting!🎉Thank you Poshmark, @pm_editor , you never stop surprising me!

mannajoy
mannajoy I was very excited when I first started to read these changes. Then I got to the $3/flat rate business. This is nonsense and EXTREMELY discouraging!!! So I sell something for $3 and make $0 (ZERO!??) and pretty much any price under $15 you are taking much more than your "deserved" 20%.... Yes, you've made a "beneficial" change for the buyers, while taking more money from us sellers.... I dislike this so much. And don't appreciate it what so ever!!! I am very disheartened. 😕
Mar 18Reply

pm_editor @mannajoy We’re very sorry to hear this is how you feel. We made changes to the commission for orders less than $15 so we could continue to deliver a great user experience for these lower-priced orders, including USPS 2-3 Priority Mail shipping and Posh Protect buyer protection. At the same time, we also lowered buyer shipping fees to attract more buyers and help you sell more items in your closet. Our goal is to deliver a simple, consistent experience to buyers and sellers.

innabailey @pm_editor I have to agree with everything that @danipage @randipage @ginger71 @mannajoy have said. Youre making it not worth it for those that dont sell expensive items to stay on here. Id imagine its better to get the 20% rather than be greedy and lose the business of people using the app. There are other options like Vinted that will gladely let people keep selling their $3.00 and under items without basically stealing $2.95 from them. I see this greedy change as a major negative on poshmark.

lorilee I think the fact that we will be only making .05 on $3 it's and up is horrible. How are we supposed to sell items cheap for people with that kind of fee.? I will have to delete my account over this. It's so not worth selling my items I just want others to enjoy cheap!

thesequinhanger
thesequinhanger Just posted this to Facebook but realized I should be posting on here instead! 😩😜Suggestion - We totally need to separate likes from shares and comments in our news feed - I get over 500 notifications a day - actually honestly I have no idea how many I really get because I check this app every half hour lol but it's a lot! I would love to click on just likes to easily communicate with prospect buyers instead of having to scroll through a gazillion shares - when I'm ready to share I would then like to scroll through just shares and not my giant tagged comments and such - it recently was updated with comments separated now please can we separate the shares and likes! I also would love to be able to search for an item low to high price or high to low - instead of the under $25 , $25-$50 and so on option - also a way to save favorite brands without having to like an item to remember the brand - I've discovered so many brands on this app I would have never even known about before discovering it! I am very happy with the 5lb weight! I go over the past lowered 2 lbs constantly and always have to pay for extra shipping! However I feel that it should be the buyers responsibility to pay for extra shipping just like every other site! Reduced shipping costs are definitely going to attract so many more buyers including myself! It was a real deterrent going to buy something for cheap with that steep shipping price! Also ladies if you want to sell small items try doing what I do - offer them as free with purchase! It seems to be working lately for me! Happy Poshin' 👾

POSHMARK IS GETTING GREEDY AND TAKING MORE THAN 20%. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?? THE GOVERNMENT? I WANT A RESPONSE JUSTIFY THIS CHANGE. IT IS GREEDY AND UNETHICAL. SO YOUR TAKING 30% FOR $10 SALES AND 59% FOR 5$ SALES POSHMARK????? SCREW YOU IM SELLING ON EBAY. I HOPE YOUR GREED BANKRUPTS YOUR COMPANY.

katexcloset Lol you guys are pathetic. A whoppin' 20% is already high especially If you sell luxury items here. WAY TO INCREASE the seller fee for the lower priced items. Oh, please don't use your permanently-"too swamped" customer service as an excuse to charge so much.
Mar 19Reply
katexcloset
katexcloset @andrewmetzger completely agree. eBay has many more buyers globally- and when I need help, I can(oh snap) CALL them and get a human in 5min. Posh is not well known and it's over focusing too much on making otherwise cheap buyers think they are "fashionable" at those posh planned parties... Time posh could have spent to learn to actually be a better app.

katexcloset @pm_editor to echo what everyone else said about shipping... For my amusement, I always checked how much it would have cost me to ship the USPS myself, and it was always below $7, and many times below $5. Way to scrape more money off us from shipping. You. Are. Pathetic.

naturelover I have to agree with @innabailey @danipage @randipage @ginger71 @mannajoy have said. Although I think the shipping charge is wonderful because I have paid lots of out of pocket charges for heavier packages the flat commission Poshmark will take for those items les than $15 seems a bit excessive. I'm just wondering if that's the way for Poshmark to discourage selling low cost items? Are you looking to make this a community in which only high end brands are sold at extreme prices? You have every tight to after all we all have a choice of where we can sell our items and are not obligated to sell on here. Either way I have to admit I do love Poshmark and can't see myself going anywhere else. LOL

Although I love bundling items to get over the $25 limit to lower shipping rates, there are times when I can't bundle and sadly I end up not buying the item because of a $2 difference, such a small amount but what a big difference it'll make. And as a seller, I don't have to worry about paying more to upgrade the weight….seriously, thats super awesome :) Let's get bundling!

pm_editor @innabailey We’re very sorry to hear this is how you feel. Our goal is to deliver a simple, hassle-free experience to buyers and sellers, regardless of the package weight or how far away from the seller they live. The shipping rate for buyers is now a flat $4.99 for any order on Poshmark, regardless of price. And all orders continue to be shipped with USPS 2-3 day Priority Mail. The cost of delivering this consistent, fast-shipping experience to buyers is greater than the $4.99 shipping rate per order. Poshmark subsidizes part of the cost to deliver the best buyer experience possible. We hope this helps!

andrewmetzger
andrewmetzger Who did the math on this? So if I sell items for 5 dollars and apply poshmark logic that I Will have Increased sales due to the reduced cost of shipping for the buyer, I will have to see a 39% increase in sales to make up for the pecentage increase in the flat commission of $2.95 LOL you guys are crazy if you think a 2$ drop in shipping will equate to a 39% Increase in sales at 5$ a piece. ANYONE SELLING ITEMS UNDER 15 iS BEING TAKEN BY POSHMARK. DO THE MATH PEOPLE DONT BE A FOOL. EBAY TAKES 20% AND HAS SELLER CONTROLS FOR SHIPPING AND LISTINGS. POSHMARK NEEDS TO RETHINK THIS
Mar 19Reply

pm_editor Just to clarify so there isn't any confusion, the $4.99 shipping actually applies to an order of any price on Poshmark. Our current shipping structure is $4.99 for order over $25 and $6.99 for order under $25. For orders under $25, buyers will save $2 on shipping with our new shipping rate. As a reminder, this will take effect Thursday, March 20th at 12:00 a.m. PT.

lac700
lac700 I think this is a great change! It will help improve the quality of what is listed on the app and also prevent people from taking advantage of the subsidized shipping rates. It will hopefully keep people from trading and using the posh shipping labels for paypal transactions. It's not fair for poshmark to provide cheaper shipping when they are not even making any commission on a sale

mynameismita I have something that was purchased today but I plan to ship tomorrow. It is over 4 lbs so I'll need to get a heavier label. Will requesting a new label tomorrow after the change has previews allow me to get the new 5 lb. label or will I still have to pay the extra for the old label?
Mar 19Reply
katjo
katjo @bekiry Hi😃I see you're confusion and I hope I can help to clarify it for you. You have to look at the overall big picture, yes, the commission for items less then $15 will be higher but the decrease in the over $15 items and most significantly the free upgraded label for up to 5lbs is huge. Lower shipping charges will increase sales thus compensating for the commission on listings under $15. Currently for example a $10 item a buyer paid $17 total with $7 shipping and you received $8. With the new shipping the buyer pays $15 and you receive $6.95. So if you raised that $10 item to $11 you will receive the same as you would have before the flat commission and your buyer pays $2 less with the $4.99 shipping. I really think if you give it a chance you will see more sales generated by lower shipping charges. The 5lbs free takes that pinch out of the sellers pocket which previously could really add up. Last week I paid $9 for an upgraded shipping label! I hope this helps you to understand the transition a bit better and I'm more then happy to answer any questions. Please keep in mind that Poshmark is a business, not a charity. The commission change supports the flat $4.99 rate and the 5lb allowance, lower shipping equals more sales. Give it a chance.😊💗
Mar 19Reply
katjo
katjo @beethoven I completely agree!!! I'm so excited about the $4.99 flat rate shipping and up to 5lbs FREE!!! I agree with you especially on the items that are $15-$24, it's hard to sell in that range because many didn't want to pay the $6.99 shipping. To receive $4.99 shipping on a "Priority Mail" package including one that weighs up to 5 lbs is a bargain!!! This indeed will generate more sales!!👍👏👏👏😃

bhwardrobe
bhwardrobe I did the math for anyone who is concerned about listings under $15 At the minimum... For listings at $5-$12, 1. Sellers can increase the price by $2 to benefit the NEW system 2. Buyers will pay the same 3. Sellers benefit the OLD system for listings under $5 For listings at $10-$13, 1. Sellers can increase the price by $1 to benefit the NEW system 2. Buyers pay the cheaper price by $1 3. Sellers benefit the OLD system for listings under $10 @bekiry Creating new listings under $15 is not so great because the Posh fee is above 20%. However, if the listings were already created, the buyers and sellers both benefit if the sellers increase their price by $1 for listings of $10-$13. At the same time, buyers save $1 compared to the old system.

bhwardrobe
bhwardrobe @girlabouttown You're welcome :). A lot of people were concerned about the flat fee which I understand. If you make the simple changes with listings starting at $5 up to $14, it actually benefits the sellers too! It's something I wanted to address. @pm_editor $5 shipping is beyond wonderful and a steal deal for a package up to 5 lbs. That is the greatest benefit for all Poshers so we don't have to worry about weighing for bundle deals. I do hope someday that there'll be a cheaper shipping rate for packages that are just light weight.
Mar 20Reply
girlabouttown
girlabouttown @bhwardrobe I was thinking that even if it means having to go an extra step or two when listing an item, it would be great to have variable shipping rate for our buyers. So instead of just picking "Jewelry" it would then bring up a list of items so you could select "Necklace" and then a general weight estimate is tagged to it. Then if a customer just buys the necklace alone, maybe she only pays $3 shipping. It would be a little more work for us but I know it would encourage more impulse sales.
Mar 20Reply

Yeah, the new shipping fees and commissions are really fair to the sell who is doing all the work.

kskloset @pm_editor Thank you for creating a community of support 💕 Yes, the change affects us all in diff ways but we have to learn to embrace it and make it work for us, sellers, and Poshmark as a company needs to make it work for the company too. 🎉 So win-win 🎉 I've had my closet on here for about a year and I appreciate the experience. 💕 So thank you!
Mar 20Reply
mummadoe
mummadoe @bhwardrobe like how you believe the seller should just increase their prices because Posh is charging the seller a flat rate for items $15 and under. Then the buyer has to spend more. Do you see anything wrong with this picture!!!!!
Mar 20Reply
mummadoe
mummadoe After reading more & more blogs we don't have a lot of rocket scientists here.
Mar 20Reply
bhwardrobe
bhwardrobe @mummadoe My examples only apply for listings that are between $5-$13. If the listing is $5, I recommend to increase by $2 so the buyer pays the same. $5+$7 old way vs $7+$5 new way. You'll get $4 from the old way and $4.05 from the new way. If the listing is $10, I recommend to increase by $1 so the buyer saves $1. $10+$7 old way vs $11+$5 new way. You'll get $8 old way or $8.05 new way. Do you get my picture?
Mar 20Reply
bhwardrobe
bhwardrobe @mummadoe Also, the decrease in shipping of $2 leaves room for seller to increase their price by $1 or $2. Therefore, buyers are not paying more as they are either saving $1 or paying the same. Also, my recommendation in the example is a way to benefit both the buyers and sellers when the listings are $5-$14 before the change.

innabailey
innabailey @pm_editor You do realize that we are not illiterate and thus restating the same info that we had already read and saying you hope it clears things up is idiotic on your part. For those that dont sell heavy items, the 5 lb shipping upgrade doesn't matter. So yay for those that it helps up. However, for those that mostly sell jewelry and other small pieces for $5 or less, taking a bunch ole amount of commission is highway robbery. The sales I've made on here have been $2 here, $3 there for items that are not worth costing more. Id imagine if people wanted to pay retail pricing, they would just go to the mall and pay the same price for something that is minus the shipping cost and is returnable. I hope that helps YOU to better understand the issue that many are having with this new "upgrade".
Mar 20Reply
mummadoe
mummadoe @bhwardrobe I don't get your calculations. Since when do we make any money on shipping charges?? That is what your examples show. Do you honestly believe people are going to buy your item when you increase it $1 or $2 because they think they are getting a great deal on shipping? Wake up. Poshmark is trying to compete with Vinted, Threadflip, Esby, ebay and other sites for your business.
Mar 20Reply
mummadoe
mummadoe @innabailey Thank you!!! Like I stated if you sell an item for $3 you as a seller get a nickel. I'm sure your item wasn't free when you bought it so you are basically saying "Here have some free stuff, I'm not here to make any money." Before when you sold a $3 item Poshmark got 20% or .60 and you got $2.40. On a $5 item Poshmark got $1.00 and the seller got $4.00. Now Poshmark gets $2.95 and the seller gets $2.05. Even selling a $10 item Poshmark used to get $2.00 and the seller got $8.00. Now Poshmark gets $2.95 and the seller gets $7.05. So unless you start selling items $11 but no more than $15 Poshmark is making more than you are. Why can' t everyone else see this????
Mar 20Reply
briacatalina
briacatalina All anybody is seeing is the new shipping rates, but in reality, this "exciting new update" is designed to scre us users over. Taking 2.95 for ALL sales under $15? So we make 5 cents for a $3 sale? Ridiculous. And don't market this a a way to cover expenses for shipping labels. The system was fine before, where if you NEEDED a five pound shipping label, you could purchase one. You guys are trying to sell this as a good thing, but its pretty clear Poshmark is just becoming another big-time company that doesn't care about it's sellers.
Mar 20Reply
briacatalina
briacatalina I HIGHLY suggest you all migrate to Vinted. There is 2.95 shipping, a feedback system, a trading platform, AND a much better market. They also have excellent customer service for their sellers. Much better selling app as a whole, and they actually care about their users.

adoggy07
adoggy07 @briacatalina - I agree with you on VINTED!! I have surprisingly sold much more on vinted - it's honestly because of the $2.95 shipping option for items that weigh less than 0.5 lbs and you do have to use your own packaging. The $2.95 shipping works great, esp when buyers only want one item, or a small item. It makes jewelry a lot easier to sell also! I hate to say it cause I started off on posh, but I now prefer vinted over posh.

Our goal is to deliver a simple, consistent experience to buyers and sellers, regardless of the package weight or how far away from the seller they live. Poshmark subsidizes part of the cost to deliver the best buyer experience possible.

pookiebeau
pookiebeau I'm so tired of the same speech, "we made the changes to still be able to provide BLAH BLAH BLAH". I'm sorry but I can totally understand this from a business perspective and all I ask is that instead of giving us this well rehearsed speech I'd much rather hear the honest truth and I'd respect you all better for it. You all made this change to be able to please the majority with the amazing new shipping weight/prices(we all love and appreciate that finally changing) and we now have to suffer a loss to be able to make those changes happen. I get that, but call it like it is. There had to be a cut/loss from somewhere because as a business you all aren't going to take that loss. So now the people who mainly deal with $15 and under will be pushed out or forced to bundle their items to try and sell them or raise their prices. I keep hearing over and over people saying su's or "posh pets" as I've heard quite a bit don't get it and are blind and oblivious to all the changes you've made because they only deal with high end items and don't even have cheap items in their closets. Sorry but I'm a suggested user and have been and I'm definitely not a "posh pet" you all know I am not shy to voice my opinion to posh. But I do see many of my fellow su's looking over this major flaw and making it seem like we are whining and crying and not seeing the bigger picture. We see far beyond that...and for most of us it's looking a lot harder to sell and more importantly make a profit. I doubt people will suddenly be wanting to bundle like crazy if they haven't been already.

amschelling
amschelling Why is it that if I sell a $5 item on eBay they can get by with taking $0.50, and if I sell it on Threadflip they'll take $1.00, but you have to take $2.95 to be able to run your business and provide "customer service," which you certainly don't do for most orders? Sounds like you need to increase the efficiency of your operations, not force us to pay for it.

leighlee624
leighlee624 Sellers are not doing the math on this. If you raise your under $10 items by $2, you make a higher profit than with the old commission and buyers end up paying the same total as the old shipping. If you raise your $10-$15 items by $1, you make a higher profit and the buyer saves a dollar vs old shipping. It's a win-win. And I'm glad people can no longer do $0 trading that they weren't supposed to be doing in the first place. Now if only poshmark could crack down on the "inspired" items. I don't come here to buy knock offs.

briewineposh First off, many thx 😘😘😘 for your shares! They mean more to me than a host pick 😁😉😎 Secondly, THANK YOU for adding new parties like GAP & BANANA REPUBLIC! Those are staples in my closet, literally and electronically. 😍 I agree with the other Posher about the flat $3 commission rate on lower $ items, BUT realistically it's rare to sell ONLY one low cost item. The new $5 shipping and higher weight is just awesome. As per future changes, any chance you can delete users after a year of no use or fix the search engine to show the items in order of last online? It makes it fairer for those of us that are on here 24/7 despite a real job 😁😎👍 ? You keep improving the search aspect but not that 😤 part. Thx Posh!

And also is the limit on referrals 10 because I referred alot of people by them using g my invitation code and I didn't receive all of them. Don't no their screen name because I just gave out my invitation code through people I met so do I not get anymore posh credits? mommalaughing @pm_editor ok, so I'm a title late on this, hehe, but I was on vacation and am only just reading ALL of these changes now. tHRILLED!! It had gotten where pretty much all of my shipments were over 2 pounds! I was paying up to $10 extra in shipping fees on a regular basis. So, of course I'm thrilled about that. But, not just that! All the stats and info about my closet? Awesome! I'd be curious how frequently I'd shared others' items, not just my own. And, how frequently someone shared mine. But, that's all just icing on the cake. And still, you went the extra mile. So excited about all the new filters. I mean, I was wishing I could at least narrow someone's closet to my size, but to have ALL these filters and be able to simultaneously use them? AWESOME! Y'all have gotten me pumped up all over again about POSH. And, it's much easier and more fun to shop! 😘😘😘😘😘👍👍👍👍👏👏👏

rosemaryatl
rosemaryatl Alright, I'm quite happy with the new PoshPost label - that and the 'not for sale' tool have made bundling a lot easier. Still, lower shipping would help even more! I'm concerned that the new commission will hurt a lot of smaller sales, though. I've been interested in a number of single items in the $8-15 range but not purchased because shipping just made getting that one item twice or half again as expensive. On the selling side it's going to hurt worse now because of the new commissions and I suspect many of us are raising prices. The minimum $3 price seems quite reasonable, and pairing that with simple percentage commissions and low shipping would probably keep things moving better.

moonbunnytoo
moonbunnytoo THANK YOU!! As a seller I love the new PoshPost! I didn't feel it was completely fair to pass the extra shipping cost along to potential customers, so I ate the additional shipping costs of boots, large bundles, and handbags. And as a buyer, it helps keeps costs low for me, as sellers often have to adjust their prices higher to ship heavier items (like the fabulous Zara jacket I just received on Saturday!) I understand the frustration of sellers who have closets full of lower priced items, but I used this as an opportunity to create deals - offering $10 items at 3 for $25 or $5 items 3 for $15, and I have sold several 3 for $25 bundles! This is a move in the right direction - thank you again!!

kristikreations
kristikreations I am just curious as to why someone who is extremely active, has great cover shots, follows all the rules, has over 11500 followers and is following 49000 others, is a top 10% seller, has sold over 40 items and has around 200 items for sale, over 20 host picks and shares closets daily, has been with PM almost a year and has sent 3 emails to poshmark compares to someone who only has 46 items for sale, has sold only 4, doesn't follow many and doesn't have many followers and cover shots are not very good? I am referencing these two different closets because the first one seems to me should be asked to co-host way before the second closet referred. It becomes very frustrating to the ones who are doing well and doing everything right to see someone who is new, with few sales and not so good covershots to be asked to co-host. Why does this happen so often?
Apr 09Reply
xobowtiquexo
xobowtiquexo @bamagirl017 I absolutely agree!! && that's being said considering that I am most definitely not in the "first closet" stage. I had a co host shoot down the idea of an item of mine becoming HP (per another Posher recommendation) because I am selling a nail polish in my closet. I have seen TONS of closets become "suggested users" have TONS of HP items and they DO NOT follow PM rules. They do paypal and sell items they are not suppose to. I do not understand how any of this is decided. I think there are people far more deserving of certain titles. Again, I am not talking about me.

kristikreations
kristikreations @xobowtiquexo I am glad to see that you agree. There are MANY people who feel EXACTLY the way I do. I couldn't just sit there and say nothing. I hope that my comments get addressed but so far nothing. I am not trying to cause trouble. I am just speaking the truth that tons of other's don't want to do. It is NOT fair that they overlook people who have been here for almost a year. I started out selling things that I was not suppose to because I didn't know any better. I saw lots of other people selling all kinds of stuff. Once I read all the rules I did what PM asked but some how I have been overlooked and It upsets me because I spend hours here. And I mean HOURS. Thanks again for showing that you understand where I am coming from!!💖💖
Apr 12Reply
xobowtiquexo
xobowtiquexo @bamagirl017 I really hope this is addressed. I actually started out on the opposite end! lol. I started out following all rules and I soon realize that MANY people did not follow the rules and were being rewarded. So I honestly thought that maybe the "rules" were there, but it wasn't really a big deal if you did not follow them. Then I get an email from poshmark that I need to remove things from my closet or they are going to close my closet. I WAS SHOCKED. I barely had about 800 followers and I was selling the exact same things as someone with 10k plus followers. I as well spent HOURS on poshmark because i really enjoy the community and there are so many AWESOME girls here. BUT I certainly do not agree with how they pick and choose things. They really should go through some of these girl's closets to view what is really going on. Especially the girls who leave the rudest comments.

jbear
jbear @pm_editor "You will never please EVERYONE" but I think you guys are doing a damn good job! Thanks to @manish & his team we have a niche marketplace to sell our items that would usually just go to goodwill for nothing more then a tax refund. I'm excited for change, I love it, and look forward to what's to come! In not saying that this commission scale is "PERFECT" - but as someone who trains and provided daily support to over 200+ employees in an industry that earns a living off of commission, I understand how hard we work to constantly brainstorm new pay scale and commission plans that will benefit our company. Not to mention the backlash, both good and bad that comes while trying to implement and properly execute it into our daily operations - it's going to take time, trial, and error(AKA when you grow fast you learn fast) .. I also want to mention the constant updates you provide us, the users. I personally appreciate that the interface has stayed familiar and user friendly, while being able to enjoy the added benefits and features requested by THE USERS! I love reading comments, that's what I do most of the time and I'm very pleased to say that Poshmark listens to their users. Regardless of the time it takes and the "lack" of patience we posses in a technology filled world, the updates actually come quicker then I expected for a company that is only a few years old and started out of a garage. That is a BIG compliment - and I'm a huge supporter of Posh ;) Now... If only I thought of the idea first☺️ BUT that's the genius of it all - @manish allows us to be apart of THIS company AND make profit off of it. And, might I add: as much as (and I'm not speaking for Manish) people rightly/wrongfully complain, make update requests, voice their opinion, I have come to recognize that the PM team IS right there with us testing and using the app day to day and listening to their users. So again, thank you for that and of course thank you to the AMAZING users that keep this app going. Xox🐻

adornedbyamie @randie21 @danipage @pm_editor I've been reading the comments. I THOUGHT Poshmark is about selling, yes. BUT really about fashion. And personally I'm not looking to purchase $5 & $3 crap clothes or junk. I think if people want those prices to shop-try theDollar Store. I don't sell crap myself, & do not want but it. I think most women on Posh don't either. I think if seller had to raise their price some, it's really not a problem if it's good quality clothing. $ this is only my opinion😊

kristikreations @pm_editor @manish Hi! My name is Kristi. I am disabled and was searching a year ago around this exact same time for something fun to do. I will be here 1 year on May 25th which just happens to be my birthday. I have been wanting to co-host a party for a while now. I was last told that I am on the waiting list. I have a beautiful closet. I have worked very hard to get it looking this way. Since I have been an active Posher and I feel that I am well known by many ladies who have co-hosted already and/or become suggested users. I would be honored if PM would give me a chance to co-host on my Birthday in just 3 more days. Also, will you please consider me as a suggested ruler! I promise to always honor PM rules! Thank you for your consideration. I hope to hear back very soon. 💟 Here are some of my PM friends that are suggested users. They can vouch for me! 💞@elisehunter @valorieann @ej135 💞 This is just a few of them. I am looking forward to your response! Thanks again!!!!

elisehunter @manish I'd like to comment here regarding the lack of response by anyone from PMHQ. Some of the posts here after the last comment by a Posh employee, are nasty and harassing. If people are allowed to comment here, in that way, without repercussions (I'm assuming), then where can a person go to comment and not be harassed? I'm concerned that Poshmark is "growing so fast that the wheels are about to fall off" (such a high class problem!!). 😃 I'd very much love to have a conversation about some things that are happening within the community. I love Poshmark, deeply, and would like to help out a little with your original mission. ❤️ Tysm for the consideration.

Please allow me to bolster this request with a couple of factors that defines a SU: First, she has a diverse closet with unique pieces that belong to different corners of a girl's closet! Second, All the items are good quality and the prices are totally worth to pay for (I can bet on that as I made a purchase from her and It couldnt have gone better). Third, ships extremely fast! Fourth, her packages are packed not only beautifully but in such a professional way! Her packaging is personalised and is much better than Victoria Secret's pacakaging (I mean that). Even the ribbon used to beautify the package shows Posh love! Please consider her as a SU! Thank you!

craftcraze Hi, really great idea for this listing!!! 💞 I have a super important question; I'm on vacation for 2 months and my item was just purchased yesterdey. I posted a listing (ahead! 3 weeks ago about shipping only twice a month till I get back in august!) in my closet that indicates I will be away for a longer period of time! I would like to keep my name as a good and fast shipper that I builded up already! 😍 I contacted the buyer also ....! What else i can do to be loyal and trustworthy??? Thank you so much!

karisrenee Hi! I got a notification for $2.99 shipping for one hour. But it is not automatically applied to every order? Is that only available for certain items?? The 1st item I got the note on was an $18 necklace (where the $2.99 shipping shows up in order confirmation page), but there's another item I want in a different closet for $20, and it's not giving me the $2.99 discount for this hour. I got the note 4min ago, I dont want to miss it on this item I really need! ✨✨✨✨ any ideas?

jodi4him4
jodi4him4 @pm_editor why did u chg the filter request code??? It used to be...such as when I would type in Victoria's Secret, it would pull up EVERYTHING VICTORIAS SECRET that was being sold! Even if I put in makeup, anything makeup would be presented! Now if u tap it in the filter, it changes ur personal wants instead if ur just looking for a specific type of item. Also, when I type in Victoria's Secret now.....it comes up as "nothing available"! Now we all know there r probably tens of thousands of VS items available....right??!? I've tried several different names, and unfortunately, they came up the same! I'm frustrated..."if it 'ain't broke....don't fix it!" Is a comment I remember hearing while growing up, so why has this changed? Is it possible to recreate it to come back the way it was? Or is it lost & gone forever..... like most of the items I LOVE and return later to purchase.....only to find someone had purchased it out from underneath me?!? Hahaha! That last half of the last statement was shared to bring a laugh, but so true sometimes! Lol. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my rant, and I hope to hear back from you soon. I thank you for all you do to provide a positive shopping/selling experience for Poshmarkers all over the world!

schandler @pm_editor , hi there! I'm having some difficulties with a return on 2 items purchased from the same seller. She didn't know how to bundle items so I purchased 2 separate purchases. She sent them in 1 package. It was no big deal until the items were received and were not what she said they were. I am trying to return these but having difficulty because of the way it was sent. I really need a phone number to actually talk to a support person. 1 of the items has been approved to send back but not the other. I have sent pictures 3 times and it's just getting too weird. Please give me the phone number to a real person in support I can talk to please! thank you. I have recommended this site to at least 4 other people but don't like that when a problem is not normal I can't speak to someone.

tebonner
tebonner I just read a crazy amount of these comments, and agree with most of the complaints. I am also very dissappinted with @pm_editor generic response to every complaint. Not to mention, this change occurred about 5 months not, and the $2.95 posh commission on items under $5 hasn't changed. Saying you are going to forward the complaints are not going to do anything unless the site actually changes the policy. I agree that the new way of doing things is good for only the buyer, not the seller. I have not spend months on this app to be barely making any money. If posh's motivation is making more money, they lower priced closets are going to continue to close, ultimately losing posh money. I would like to know when things will change in favor of the sellers. It has been mentioned, there are several other apps/websites to be selling our things which we would make more money off of. Please don't respond with your typical response about lowering shipping costs for some items, etc. Thanks.

rlwiest
rlwiest @lee72880 I actually contacted PM thru email and they responded telling me it is based on a "complex algorithm" that uses "multiple variables". So what I gathered from that is there is no rhyme or reason, and not every reduction in price gets the promotion. It's like playing a slot machine from what I understand.
Aug 24Reply

tippiejax
tippiejax I just want to know: who you are, who invested in your company, why this site is a combination of a popularity contest of the same girls hosting, sharing each other's items as host picks?? Why we are being asked to lower our prices "clear out closet week!" When you have not cleared nor cleaned up your site, why your search results are so poor (who decides what shows up in a specific search feed? Because it sure isn't what I typed in to look for.) And what Posh is going to do when the gov steps in (like they did with fee-bay) and threatens to shut you down for all the fakes & replicas on your site?? Also, when you are planning on adding other categories such as lingerie/sleep wear, shorts, blouses, tees (as opposed to just "tops") and most importantly WHEN you actually plan on taking ACTION on reported closets, users, and items??!! I am NOT THE ONLY one who is extremely frustrated with that!! I report items and users that break EVERY RULE in the book--report them repeatedly and all I ever get is some robot response from one of your staff saying over and over "we are working around the clock to resolve this. It is a delicate matter blah, blah, blah". Really? Selling a car or having a closet full of replicas and fakes is a delicate matter for WHOM?? They, and you are breaking the law!! Wake up and start running a business! A real one--before you lose all of your good, rule following, quality item selling members! And stop with the sorority type environment already. I know I speak for 1000s of users. @altaloma

I enjoy finding good deals here, but haven't started listing my own items to sell yet. I was wondering what is your opinion on this? Honestly I am outraged! I taught this app/site had honesty behind it. If I have to research every item individually before I make an offer or decide to buy it that takes a lot of time and effort on my part and I'm sure other honest poshers feel the same. Isn't there a way to report such listing or user?

I looked at the pictures from my listings and all three buttons were attached to the blazer. This posher ripped the button off because it didn't fit her! Firstly the parties for everything kids, it would be nice to split it into younger kids and older kids and well as by boys and girls. I would live to have the option to join parties for tweens for example. The sizes vary quite a bit in this age group so it's cumbersome to search by type and size. I hope to see some parties that don't mix all kids newborn to 18 as well as boys and girls in the future. Thanks!

theoo7doc So sad to see what Posh COULD be and what it once was. I sell on eBay, Posh is just too greedy maki g 20% commissions & a $6.49 shipping (I don't know what this $4.99 shipping is as I'm always charged $6.49) many ti.es actual shipping is half that. Making a profit from shopping charges is greed, nothing but greed! I sell my jewelry to benefit our work with the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc. and we wouldn't make any profit going Posh's way with charges! So I buy a lot on Posh but sell on eBay! CON'T

theoo7doc
theoo7doc I will mention one more thing which Posh is STUPIDLY allowing to happen which could ruin them & they don't see it. Posh is becoming Chinese Wholesale Central to the point where I see something I like which has those professional pig's, multiple SIZES or is 'new' & branded 'botique and run a photo look up on it. Go to the Chinese seller (there are usually at least 10 per item)& buy there because the make-up some of your 'Super Suggested Seller's' are making should be CRIMINAL! CON'T

theoo7doc For example, a longasymmetrical sweatshirt hoodie I bought on AliExpress for $10.90 is selling for $68 to $98 on Posh. I SO want to tell the women who are gushing over these items where they can go & buy them for 1/4 of the price rather thanbegging these GREEDY women for a 10% discount only to be told they can't lower their price. The hoodie I bought for $10.90 on AliExpress is $98.00 on Posh with a BS brand name because it's a no name item. I liked Posh when it was one gal selling from CON'T

theoo7doc From her closet what she didn't wear any more. It was a great consignment shop but it's really getting kinda sleezy. Go take a look at the clothing be ok my sold on AliExpress & you'll see it all on Posh at an obscene mark-up! Plus on Ali Express you can contact the seller and make an offer on an item and as long as it's a bit more than he paid for it he'll usually take it. Also, their government subsidizes shipping so most of the time it's free or at worst $1-$2!
Oct 30Reply
theoo7doc
theoo7doc I also do not like the space limitations in this kind of venue! I had to use 4 comment pages to say what I wanted to say. Basically, please stop ruining Posh with greed. If these gals want to sell their Chinese Wholesale let 'em do it on eBay and not here. Or is Posh making so much off them with their 20% commission you'd lose out if you stopped the dishonesty because on Posh, I feel like you are just helping people RIP off their friends. If so...SHAME ON YOU!
