This is the dress that started it for me... you'll need help to get into it, but once it's on, it feels and fits like nothing else. Sheer Genius. Fully lined in nude fabric, for the sexiest glimpse of fabric you'll ever see. I promise you, they will be staring... stunned. Stretch lace bodice hooks on he interior for a perfectly taut fit, while the rich silk velvet skirt hangs in swags in the front - and a bustle in the back. There's nothing like couture, and no one did it quite lie Bob Mackie.

@styledbykblake The Mackie is up. @michelleannette is too hot to handle.

I need some oxygen! Your dreamlike description just came to life!!
onceuponathyme
:-) You can now picture me, yes? Oh, my, how much I love this dress.
onceuponathyme
It's just been up a minute and a half, @lululady . . . I was pretty much up all night at the hospital, so I posted some things between visits with the nurse. They woke him up at 3:30 AM to WEIGH him! What's up with that? As for the dress... yes, I think it's the best dress I've ever had. I love it . . . but I just don't have the body for it any more. :-(
onceuponathyme
:-) Oh, yeah, your radar is off, all right - it took you a minute and a half. hahahaha I know exactly what you mean. I bought this for the opening Opera of a new season with a new director. No one - and I mean literally NO ONE recognized me. Since then I've put it on several times. Just to look at myself. :-) Now my hips have gotten so wide it just doesn't work for me anymore . . . not even just to admire myself. :-) The top still fits fine, but the skirt needs to drape. I no longer need a bustle. bahahahahaha If nothing else, it's that much closer to outside my racks just by being admired in my virtual closet.
onceuponathyme
@lululady Taylor, spoken like a true dragon after my own heart. :-) I can see I'm going to have to live vaciously through SOMEONE else's hips... I do hope it's yours. :-)
hollynoel25
@onceuponathyme this soooo cute! Darvs, I found a few of my Gunne Saxx from the 70's lol I cannot even believe how tiny they are!! 💕🌺💕✌️
onceuponathyme
@hollynoel25 I still have a few, myself... although the ones I loved most I cut up and turned into other things! :-)
onceuponathyme
@hollynoel25 I don't know if you're familiar with Bob Mackie ... he was the designer famous for creating Cher's scandalous confections for the Oscars . . .
hollynoel25
@onceuponathyme yes I am. I have a couple Bob Mackie blouses.
hollynoel25
@onceuponathyme great idea! I wish I'd done that bc the ones I loved most aren't the ones I found!!
katstyle
Glad you got this listed, I just love this gown!
michelleannette
@onceuponathyme Hi Darva, ok your husband gets the prize for making anyone look good, it was such a pleasure to model this dress, @vivacouture Sherrie, @katstyle Kathleen, @cccouture Courtney, @susanleeyogi Susan, @iknowclothes Trista. Darva will have to tell everyone how she got me into this Mackie Gem. It truly feels as good as it looks. You put it on and you become the most beautiful and dangerous woman in the room. I could have cleared the room of women, because all the men would be on their knees, begging!,!!!!!!!! MichelleAnnette
onceuponathyme
@michelleannette That is OH SO TRUE... but I don't think I WILL tell everyone about being on my knees at your feet digging for the other half of the crotch hooks . . . Boy do those designers know how to bring other women to their knees . . . from the very start, just getting the dress on! :-) You put it so well, MIchelle. Dangerous is exactly the right word. I've only worn this dress once, but I STILL feel dangerous when I remember that night. Incidentally, I'm home from my folks' house... Dad's home from the hospital, and all is well. Thank you for keeping my closet alive while I was otherwise engaged. :-* @vivacouture @styledbykblake @katstyle, @susanleeyogi, @cccouture, @iknowclothes @cmjla @cultiverre
susansupernova

vivacouture
Wow how stunning that dress is and how incredible that it fits Michele like a glove @michelleannette
onceuponathyme
@vivacouture There is something magical about the diaper inside this dress... it makes it fit everyone like a glove . . . but you do have to have a pretty fit middle, because . . . it fits like a glove! hahahahaha
poppy64
@onceuponathyme Wow... Stunning...and the exquisite beauty modeling as well. 💞 💞💞
onceuponathyme
@poppy64 This is the oh-so-fabulous @michelleannette . . . check her closet it out . . . she's amazing all the way around! :-*
vitapopach
@onceuponathyme you are so gorgeous!
onceuponathyme
@vvpopach Thanks, Vita, but this is my friend and fellow Posher, @michelleannette She came over and spent a day modeling for me - how super nice is that? :-) She's got an amazing closet; head over and take a look!
vitapopach
@onceuponathyme I definitely will. Thanks(:
onceuponathyme
@cmjla hahahaha Too funny. I was just talking to @michelleannette about Poshers she should know, and I had to tag you to remember the order of your letters... I mean, I get the C, but the mjla? That's just not a word! ;-)
cmjla
Lol! I know right?! I didn't even think when I made up my name... It's c - cynthia and Cristiana my oldest, j - Joie my youngest, and m - Mia my youngest... And we are in LA. Lol @michelleannette
onceuponathyme
@cmjla Cynthia, that is SO ridiculous it MUST be true! No one could make that up! ;-) @michelleannette
onceuponathyme
Mine - Once Upon a Thyme - was the name of my antique biz 30+ years ago . . . on "storybook lane," in Paradise, CA. Then I sold on the auction site that will not be named (while I had the store). And when I started the production company, it became Once Upon a Thyme Productions. So ... that's MY story, and I'm sticking to it. @michelleannette, @cmjla MUCH easier to remember now, though! Thanks for the explanation. And what great names your kids have!
amandamarino
OMG
onceuponathyme
@amandamarino exACTly! :-) This was my first couture purchase ... back in the day. Pretty significant for all kinds of reasons . . . :-)
onceuponathyme
I have a few couture pieces, and you just don't "get it" until you put them on. I have a vintage Bob Mackie couture dress - from I'm guessing the 80's. When it put it on it was like a SACK. I started laughing in the dressing room, thinking "what a mess." The saleswoman heard me and came in... she said, "Oh, I bet you missed the straps that fasten under your crotch." Sure enough, I had COMPLETELY missed the "straps that fasten under the crotch." The moment I fastened them the dress was transformed. No. I was transformed. Those two little straps pulled the bodice tight from neck to crotch, made the fit exquisite, and (unbelievably) gave me a bustline that had every man at the opening of the opera staring at me - I promise you, a first. My students (I was teaching at a university, and my students were required to attend the opera opening) didn't recognize me. Heck, I didn't recognize myself! That was my first couture experience. That's why it was not my last . . . hahahahaha So - tell me your "OMG" clothing moment! (you know - the thing your husband will NEVER understand - even if he's the understanding type! ;-) @amandamarino
Here's the original post regarding this dress, in case you missed it. :-)
amandamarino
That dialogue has given me a giggle than an awe moment many times! This piece above is amazing as well as the Other. The model @michelleannette is just as beautiful💕
onceuponathyme
:-) It is, isn't it? ANd she is totally amazing in it. I swear, her waist is still Scarlett's size! But again ... pulling that "diaper" underneath tight just changes the way this dress fits. Who knew! :-) @amandamarino @michelleannette, if you don't know Amanda yet, you should . . . she and @jkdressler were my first PM sales... AND my first PM friends. :-)
jkdressler
@michelleannette stunning!!! You and the dress!! 😍😍😍😍
michelleannette
@amandamarino Hi - Amanda, yes we have chatted several times. The dress was a dreM to wear, it was not tight just right snd sumptuous. Really no one needs an antidepressant this dress immediately lifts your spirits and wearing it makes you want to take on the world!!! Right Darva!!! "onceuponathyme. Xomo Michelle
