vacat Ok, I have a question. I was under the impression that ALL liquids were nonposhable!! If lipgloss is considered a liquid, why not mascara? I don't sell either but when mentoring I need to answer this question. What gives? To Hugh or not to Hugh?

dramaless
dramaless @queenmumm WOW! I'm so glad I saw this! I had mascara (new, with tag) listed in my closet (Had 2, both have already sold). I had Two Suggested Users that were very nice and helpful to me, when I first opened my closet 6 or so months ago. They each looked all through my closet and said it looked fine, matter of fact, one of them gave me my first TWO Host Picks in the same party. I had NO IDEA mascara wasn't allowed, and apparently they don't know this either. I honestly thought lip gloss was alright too, as long as it was new - with tag. Guess it's true, we learn something new everyday. I'll be sharing this, for sure. Thank you so much for the information. ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’จ

queenmumm @dramaless Elizabeth - thanks for reading! I really do appreciate the time you took (I know it's a long read) and don't worry - we've all made similar mistakes because the area is grey on so many items. We are not given a template to follow when selected SU, so it's up to individual interpretation when selecting closets for host picks. That's why I made the list. I hope it becomes a reference for all Poshers so we can avoid confusion in the future. Having your share really helps with that goal. Thanks and Happy Poshing! :) :)

emichaud39 @queenmumm hi! I'm new to poshmark and have made a few purchases. Can't sell until I get a new printer though. ๐Ÿ˜• But one of the things I bought was a dog sweater. I have seen a ton of dog clothes and toddler clothes, so I did not realize it was against poshmark rules. I'm just wondering what happens if someone does sell something against the poshmark rules? Because I received the dog sweater, and the seller is still on here, so it didn't seem like there was a problem.

queenmumm
queenmumm @emichaud39 Hi, Emily. First, thank you for your patience. I've been on vacay since first of July and am just now catching up my feed. Regarding the dog sweater - not supported by Poshmark as an item to be sold, but with over 400K closets, it does take some time to get through those listings that are breaking rules. Your seller may have since converted her closet to support all the guidelines, hence one or two mistakes are easily excused. It's important to move on positively. We've all sold or bought something we shouldn't have, but now as Poshmark grows, it's up to established users to instruct the new Poshers who come in - to help build closet compliance sooner rather than later. It takes a village! Cheers and Happy Poshing! :)

queenmumm @lonca1959 Hey, Cindy girl! First of all - you have NOT ruined your chance for SU. As you have read in the article, we've all been there with a listing mistake and it's not the be all end all to our Posh careers! I've posed the question to PMHQ specifically about keychains and they are a no, but there are many more flagrant listing aberrations being pursued. You are doing fine. Don't worry! :)

Aug 01Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @cherryville Hi Charity! It's lovely to hear from you again. I will give you suggestions that have helped myself and others on Poshmark. First, I'm going to strongly suggest redoing some of your covershots. You use a lot of collages, but on my smartphone the detail isn't there because the pictures are too small. On many of your current listings, I'm totally in love with your second and third photos - they are wonderful. It's best if you give us ONE very clear and detailed pic as your covershot, styled on a mannequin, on yourself or against a monotone background. It's fine to throw in a few accessories to best show how it can be worn, but remember that our eye needs to go directly to what you are selling. We're scrolling thousands of listings each day. You want to "scroll stop" us with a picture that draws us in. A pop of color also works well. If your covershots are clearly defined, it will improve your chances for a host pick. The hosts are each allowed 100 picks and they will usually select the most eye-catching covershot whether it is a $1K handbag or a $15 pair of jeans. A host pick is your aim, as it will increase the traffic to your closet. This leads to shares, likes, follows and SALES. Second, make sure you are sharing your closet 3 times per day, during the parties if possible. It gives your party themed items the best exposure because they go into the master feed and not just your follower feed. Again, more likes and shares! Go into completed parties and share from the host picks to help gain shares and followers. If you want to host a party, you can email Poshmark directly and ask to be considered. Make sure your closet is compliant with all rules and guidelines and always be improving those covershots. The email for PM is hello (@) poshmark.com. Check out my blog (look under recent posts) for more tips and tricks and let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!

cherryville
cherryville @queenmumm, I want to thank you for your suggestions. I have already made a few changes and working on the cover pages. Thank you so much for your assistance. Please look at the already made changes. Your advice was wonderful and right on the mark. Miigwetch, Cherryville
Aug 02Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @cherryville Charity, c'est magnifique! I love how you have those items popping on my screen now. I can see everything so much more clearly. Perfect! Now, seek out those party hosts well before their parties and ask if you can tag to an item that fits the theme. If you haven't been host picked, they will be happy to take a look and strongly consider you. The Poshmark blog on tumblr (google "poshmark blog") releases a post every Monday announcing all the parties for the week along with the host names. That's your connection to getting a host pick. Make sure you are fully compliant with the rules and guidelines, and strike up a conversation and share items from the host closet to get her attention. Keep up the great work on those covershots! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ‘‘

queenmumm @jael9189 Jael, thank you! We are building compliance much faster with the help of mentoring and articles like this one. For any Poshers reading this, remember that if you see an item that doesn't comply with the rules/guidelines, just click the "report listing" link. This sends an anonymous "hey, look at this" report directly to Poshmark and saves you the time (and emotion) spent questioning the seller yourself. PM reviews the listing and takes action where appropriate. You can then continue on your quest to Posh happily ever after. Cheers! :)

I remember very well how we just shifted your listings around. Your closet was (and still is) gorgeous - but as you now know (from hosting!) that hosts are so busy finding pics that they sometimes don't take the time to scroll deep into a closet (and then only if they know the Posher really well). queenmumm @ccappello1 Hi Christine! First, thanks so much for reading! Keep in mind that as updates are made and comments are posted here, the info is sometimes outdated and can be confusing. Refer directly to the article for the most up to the minute information. (I give the posting date in the section right above the part about fake handbags). The current version is 9/15. Keychains, NWT sealed lip gloss and NWT sealed mascara are all definitely allowed. Please don't hesitate to ask questions either here or directly at the website. Cheers! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ‘‘

wtcboutique @queenmumm Hi! Thanks so much for creating this list. I was still a bit confused about what makeup is allowed but this clears it up! I do have one question, I've noticed when I'm going to purchase lipgloss or lipstick at the drugstore that a lot of them don't have a seal on them. For instance, I have a listing for a lipstick, lipgloss and lip liner that I ordered straight from the company and it didn't come with a seal or boxed. I know that it's brand new but posh doesn't. What's the rule with that? Thank you!

queenmumm @cstansfield610 Hi Christy! Thank you so much for reading. I'm glad the info is helping... You've posed a very good question. The majority of items are sealed and boxed but I understand that some items lack that packaging. This is definitely a Posh HQ question. My suggestion is you move those items down in your closet and mark them not for sale until we can determine if they are supported. I'll pose the question to HQ this week and try to get back to you before I close my closet for vacation this week. If you don't hear back from me by then, you may contact Posh directly - support (at) poshmark (dot) com. :)

lauras_boutique @queenmumm Hi Brenda! I am new to the site, so I'm still working through understanding what the posh rules are but I'm really enjoying meeting all of the wonderful helpful women so far. The rules you listed are really helpful. I didn't understand why I kept seeing items in a closet that were men's, childrens, video games, etc. when I thought I was understanding the rules. I know I have "followed" some closets that dont follow posh rules now i know, so I wondered if I should unfollow those if I can figure out which ones or just be careful in the future? I was wondering if you were British or from a British background? Laura ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
Nov 10Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @msu0712 Hi, Laura and welcome to Poshmark! You pose an interesting dilemma - is it wise to follow closets that sell "unsupported" items? My opinion is that many sellers aren't aware of their mistake. So powerful is that initial app excitement that policing one's own closet falls to the wayside momentarily. But remember that if you see an item that is not allowed, Posh gives you the option to anonymously report it using the "report" link on the listing. Enough reports for a listing will elicit a Posh review and they will handle notifying the seller. Flagrant guideline abusing closets will usually not be followed or shared by the majority of Poshers until they become compliant. However, one or two questionable listings in a closet rich with beautiful acceptable items shouldn't deter you from following them. Chances are, someone has reported what isn't allowed and the closet will be compliant soon, this allowing all of us to still share in the Posh love for the seller. :). And to answer your second question: I'm not British, though I have on many occasions chosen tea over coffee and the Stones over the Eagles. ;)

queenmumm @gabgontarek24 In order to be eligible for a host pick, your closet needs to be compliant with the rules/guidelines. Hosts are instructed not to pick from closets that have things such as perfume, nail polish, menswear, children's clothing, electronics of any kind, or used undergarments or swimsuits (among many other things). The most complete list for everything you can/can't sell is on my blog and you can find it by clicking the website at the top of my closet. Go here FIRST and make sure your closet is compliant in every way. Any listings that are not allowed should be deleted asap.

chic007
chic007 I have a question. A young lady posted a recent post with a picture of an email from PM Support. She clearly stated that she wanted to post NWOT Undergarments and that said it was fine so long as they were unused. Has that policy changed? I was told by support they must have tags...
Dec 14Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @chic007 The answer to this is a combination of both. The rule states the item must be brand new and unworn - with tags. However, if the tags are detached, it is acceptable to sell the item as long as the item is unworn and those detached tags (or the vendor's bag or box) are shown in a supporting picture. Hence, NWOT "tags not attached but included".

krissy7250 Hi @queenmumm i am trying to get more followers. I have 11k at the moment. Is there any advice you can give me โ˜บ
Dec 14Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @krissy7250 Hi Krissy! You've asked the million dollar question. The answer is EXPOSURES - and there are numerous ways to achieve it. You need to put everything you have into your covershots and get host picks to help your closet become better known. Add more listings and share, share, share your closet as well as other closets. Following others will get you seen in feeds but you should share as many other items as you can because your name shows up in the newsfeed each time and you want reciprocal shares which can become follows. You have about 3k shares. May I ask when you started on Poshmark? :)
Dec 14Reply
krissy7250
krissy7250 Thank you so much for your reply and feedback โ˜บ i started at the end of july
Dec 14Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @krissy7250 Krissy, 11k followers is pretty good for 4 months and I see you have a follower game in your closet - you can also get on other follower game lists but you need to increase your daily shares to show you are interested in cultivating those follower relationships. To clarify, you want to share and not just follow. You should work towards sharing about 300-500 items per day to jumpstart your share numbers at the beginning. This is easily accomplished by going into a completed evening party and sharing from the host picks or finding 20-25 medium profile closets you love and sharing 10-20 items at a time. Higher profile closets have enormous newsfeeds and sometimes it is difficult to keep with reciprocal shares. Sharing on a heavy basis gets your name in the newsfeeds and that's where you want to be. I also can't stress enough on improving your covershots every chance you get - model your items, improve your lighting and backgrounds. Think outside the box on display and detail. My blog and Q-tips have info which will help. Look for them in my closet and visit the blog at midlifealamode.com. Let me know if you have further questions. Good luck! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘‘

krissy7250
krissy7250 Wow, i didnt know that i should be sharing 300_500 times and about hosts pick. Thank you thank you for sharing that with me. โ˜บ i do have one last question. Alot of the clothing i have doesnt fit me any longer so i cant model them like i want. Should i be aiming to sell things that are my size so i can model them. Should i consider adding them to my closet. @queenmumm
Dec 15Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @krissy7250 If your items don't fit, you can find other ways to display them. My closet is loaded with items from consignment clients - many size 0-4 that are way too small for me. I use a mannequin and also take well lit photos against plain backdrops. You can also usually find a stock photo online to help show how the item looks when worn (for recently manufactured clothing). Take a look in other closets & fashion mags to get ideas on showing items without modeling them. :)

accentsenvogue @queenmumm : Please note that Coach keychains with Coach tags are included on new Coach handbags, for example. I have thoroughly read all of the Posh guidelines, Q-A Section, ethics guidelines, etc., and although I discover a reference to "accessories", no info about the removal of Coach keychains from Coach handbags or from other handbags on which they originally were packaged is evident. Apparently, I must inquire about this issue. Please inform us at your convenience about the location of this rule. Thank you for your time. ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŽ†

sottino @comfortzone Cynthia key fobs, keychains are def allowed to sell on POSHMARK . That rule is listed in the rules. I think things have gone back and forth about this subject and perhaps the comment from queen mom was a few months back and maybe it changed since then. But the rules do say if it accessories your outfit (like how they come on the coach bags now) then they can be sold. Many people accessorize their purses with the keychains. I know I do.. Hopefully queenmom will chime in on this post so we can hear it from someone who has the facts and up to date ones .. ๐ŸŽ€

queenmumm @comfortzone Hey Cynthia, thanks for taking the time to ask your question here. Keychains are allowed as they are an accessory. I don't know of any rule that forbids the removal of a Coach keychain from a Coach bag so that it can be sold separately on Poshmark. As long as it is authentic Coach and not a replica, it is allowed. I hope this answered your question. Please let me know if it didn't. :)

accentsenvogue
accentsenvogue @queenmumm : Of course, I would hope not remove the hang tags-keychain accessory that accompanied a NWT Coach handbag, especially upon offering one for sale--it should be in its original condition unless described otherwise. Thank you for addressing this issue that I have directed to Posh representatives. Hangtags and embellishments that are not offered separately for sale but accompany a specific handbag represent a different consideration. I can understand that in a world of high-end designer handbags, many extremely low priced generic items could create a burden for overseers. Of course, if the embellishments accompany the item as a package...a different scenario. The issue is that ladies who can't budget too much may be able to afford a lower priced handbag. And, I would not hope for anyone's car keys and keychain to impact an ignition. When on the go, I have relied on several keychains--one as light as a ribbon with a locking diaper pin exclusively for car keys. I thank you again for clarifying this issue. ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŽ†Success to you, and thank you for sharing the Sajen pendant-brooch.

sottino @queenmumm Hello again Brenda ๐ŸŽ€ i wanted you to know that i am trying to set something up in my closet about what is allowed to sell or not to sell . Haha i love that line. But seriously i plan to do the basics but if ok with you can i copy your link for them to refer to as well? I seriously want to get a list going of people as to gather for possible host picks in the future for myself or for others who may have had unforeseen issues and have not enough hp ready. I am too a SU and don't want to have to refer them to you, but you know as well as i do it can become challenging to readers when they read rules from different places. I believe it is safest to have one set of rules that is kept up. Since you are already working with posh on this i feel it best to use your link if you agree. But i want you to understand that my goal here is to gather closets for host picks, among other avenues; that being thE reason i am asking them to post onto my closet. Lets just see how it goes. How does this sound to you to copy your link to my closet? ๐ŸŽ€๐ŸŽ€๐ŸŽ€

queenmumm @stephrhodes Hi Stephanie! Not to worry, sweetie. You can still get HPs and become an SU. Many new Poshers have done the same thing. I always say fix the mistake and move on. It's true you can't erase the items already sold, but the fact that you are now complying with the guidelines shows that you have interest in attaining both. Just continue to list Poshible items, work on great covershots and share share share! You can also start a dialogue with any upcoming host and ask her to consider your closet. Verify that you now follow guidelines. Don't be shy. They don't bite. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Cheers! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜Š

Has this rule changed or just not updated yet. I get people asking this all the time and i always tell them no they are not acceptable .. Can you help us out here? And also the keychain issue still needs to be put into writing unless i missed it! ๐ŸŽ€๐ŸŽ€ is the reason you want me to tag you on my closet is so you can check my work first? I wanted you to know that i have been here for more than two years and think i am doing pretty well . I will check with Posh to see if i need someone to oversee my work ok?? Have a great Saturday ๐ŸŽ€๐ŸŽ€ Sheila

footcandy
footcandy Hi Brenda! It's wonderful to meet you. Newbie alert! I started posting about a month ago BEFORE reading all your tips. I started out with a few items and couldn't figure out how to represent them in a way that felt like my real-life OCD, uber-organized closets. After reading your tips, news articles, and blogs (thank you @marlanap) I felt armed with the right info to make changes in my closet. OMG postmark has awakened my creativity! I'm having so much fun designing my cover shots. Thank you so much for sharing in a way that is informative and downright hilarious!

queenmumm
queenmumm @sottino Sheila, first, the reason I'd like to be tagged to your post is that I can help you share it. Obviously, if you are using my link to direct people, it helps me to see what the reactions are and to know if something needs to be further clarified in my article. You say that key chains haven't been changed but they have. They are listed under Poshibles along with checkbook covers. Lipgloss and mascara ARE allowed. They are the only liquids allowed. Poshmark clarified this to me after my first draft last year that stated no liquids. Whether because of insignificant alcohol content or because USPS conveyed it to them personally, I cannot confirm - but they ARE allowed. All of this is reflected in the article. Reading the comments in this post above will show different moments when we received conflicting answers from PMHQ. HQ receives thousands of emails a day and sometimes a Posher gets info that doesn't mesh with every other answer given. This enters into the comments above, causes a moment of havoc and then I have to doublecheck the reply. That's why I have a senior person at HQ who handles my inquiries and why I date the article when I receive an answer. My article is the first place to send anyone new because it is the most accurate representation of the guidelines and it is a list that hosts refer to before selecting their picks. PM also checks it periodically for accuracy. Hope this helps. :)

sottino @queenmumm Brenda i read your post and understand what you are saying. I have quite a list going from many months doing this but the more i see and hear from others it just might not be the right thing for me to do. I love your blog! So awesome, but through experience i know that people are not maybe that computer savy to go find the right listing in that blog. That is the reason they didnt read the rules the first time they signed up. And that is sad for them.. My friend , Debbie has been trying to get me to go and read your blog and am very impressed. Only problem i see is that people want to see something simpler. Know what i mean?? You are quite the writer. โค๏ธ i must believe we can help more people who are of the ones already set up to a more simpler approach and then tell them to read yours or the FAQ . And then i believe they will understand it much better and read and see the things they missed the first time around . You know the old saying " WE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES" and everyone deserves a chance. Thats what i love about posh. Sure there are going to be some who will fall through the cracks , but i am here to try and discourage this behavior. I have a psychology degree (retired) so i know so much about helping people, but i also know when to let go... You are doing a fantastic job and so very kind... This is the one time i wish we could talk somewhere more private.. But i know you are doing a fantastic and from the heart treasure for these people who want help.. โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ if there is any way i can help you, let me know ok?? โŒโญ•๏ธโŒโญ•๏ธโŒโญ•๏ธ

wandalemmons
wandalemmons @queenmumm I have a question. I can't remember where I read it and now can't find it. Pretty sure I read somewhere on this site that if an item is shared more than once in three minutes it will only show once in the feed. Am I right.
Jan 28Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @wandalemmons Wanda, I'm not exactly sure of the number of minutes but yes that sounds correct. If you share the same item over and over in a very short period of time it will show up in your follower's feed once - and it must reset after a small delay to be seen again. For a themed item shared during party hours, it will go into the master party feed only once no matter how many times you or others share it. Still, your multiple shares count towards your share and self share numbers, so it never hurts you to be generous. :)
Jan 28Reply
wandalemmons
wandalemmons @queenmumm I asked because of a share group where they are being told to share 12 times in succession. It just seems like a waste. @kookc
Jan 28Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @wandalemmons @kookc Remember, I'm not a computer programmer, so I can't vouch for accuracy in this department. But if there is a limit on one item's share impact it likely has to do with site traffic and is a safeguard installed to prevent a server from crashing. If anyone has a more complete answer, please let me know. Math was never my best subject! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ That said, if this was about chocolate, I'd be all over it...๐Ÿ˜‰

aelalea Now that I have thought about this a bit longer, I am worried about something: before I thoroughly understood the rules, I sold a non POSH approved item. And it's just sitting there in my closet at the bottom in the sold listings. Do I contact Posh and apologize? Or do I let it go? Am I never going to have an item chosen for a host pick because of that sale? Also... Yikes... I looked at my purchase history, and I have purchased a few non POSH approved items. So I am worried... Should I contact posh and apologize? ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Feb 21Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @aelalea Hi Jennifer. First, my sincere apologies for this delayed response to your comments above. Second, I understand your concern but you need not worry about what has already been bought or sold as it shouldn't be a problem - you realize the mistake and that is the most important thing. Poshmark focused on closets where the violations are flagrant (ie repetitive) and illegal - such as counterfeit items. Just keep building a compliant closet and focus on moving upward with it. You should be fine. ๐Ÿ‘ Good luck! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘‘

snapfashion @queenmumm ~ Thank you Brenda! I just want to get better and better at being a Good Posher. BTW - I NOW am disturbed ad I have been racking up my following that the POSH COMPLIANTs will jilt me because of some of my FOLLOWERS. Some discrepencies aren't noticeable until after you Follow. Now there are some Closets I find Profane or just plain Rude and those I pass by but I didn't give much thought to being in a position of having to be So Discriminating. Thoughts ??? I'm Open. :)
Mar 17Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @snapfashion The closets you follow have no impact on your ability to become an SU or party host. There are some SUs who follow less than 100 closets and some who follow over 100,000. The most important thing is to check guideline updates and avoid sharing the ITEMS which are non compliant. Many Poshers have one or two mistake listings in their closets (sold a book or a baby item in the past) but they clean up the remainder of their listings and it's fine. :) To help you stay updated on guidelines, you can click the link at the top of my closet. I maintain a very detailed list that is updated when PMHQ makes any changes. You can also subscribe to be notified when I update that list. Hope that helps answer your question. Cheers!๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘‘

srkennedy
srkennedy Hi everyone, I was just wondering what you ladies know about what happens when someone is reported for not following Posh rules. A few friends and I stumbled upon a very rude Posher selling perfumes, lotions, bathing suits without tags, and designer replicas. Each of us went through and reported the offending listings, but 2 weeks later, this user is still on Poshmark. Why is this? Is it because not enough people reported her? There are 4 of us, myself included. One fellow Posher suggested that we get the word out to our followers by making a listing with pictures of the rule-breaking items, with the woman's username, but I wasn't sure that that would be the right approach. Please help!
Mar 18Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @srkennedy Hi Shania. That's a very good question and I'll answer the best I can. First, please know that Poshmark is working as fast as they can to respond to all items/closets that are reported. With over 2.5 million users and over 600,000 active closets, the process can take some time but they are working on ways to improve that response. HQ goes through the reports and addresses the more serious infractions immediately, such as the flagrant selling of counterfeit items and deliberate harassment between users. Harassment includes "joining up" with other Poshers and posting listings in a closet to point out or warn others about non-compliant, rude or scamming closets, so you definitely DON'T want to create anything that would fall into that category. Your intentions are honorable but the method can backfire. Just continue to hit the report link and know that other Poshers are likely doing the same. Do not engage the closet owner in any communication as it can quickly turn negative. And finally, in the event that anyone does feel harassed or cyber bullied on Poshmark, it's best to withhold engaging further with the opposing user and email support immediately. They will handle it. Hope this helps answer your question. Thanks and Happy Poshing! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

queenmumm @hotpantsrhoads Hey Heidi! Thanks for sharing this - I don't mind at all. As for NWT, I haven't seen closets doing this but I'm wondering - is it like Goodwill? They generate tags on items & they aren't selling new items each time - just tracking inventory. I would venture that if anyone is tagging items as a deception to sell something as "new", there will be enough buyers making returns to cause HQ to look into it. Hope this helps. Happy Poshing! ๐Ÿ˜Š

elle8belle Super helpful, thanks for the tag @matadora1978! So I have a question! I have a pair of Paladium boots in my closet but they are size 12 mens/ 14 women's. They are technically unisex because they sell the same style for women, but I'm not sure any lady out there wears size 14. Are they still ok since they are technically unisex? Thank you!
Jun 16Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @elle8belle Hey Gabriella & welcome to Posh! Yes, you can sell unisex items as long as you clarify the corresponding women's size in the description. There are women who wear up to a size 14, though the general shoe size population on Posh is much smaller. Still, you can certainly give it a try. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘‘

queenmumm
queenmumm @wowitsalexisss I only sell on Poshmark, sweetie. Despite what other closets are doing, following Posh rules will help you get more shares and followers - and possibly host picks in evening parties - which can increase your exposure and sales. Clicking the link in my profile will take you to the list of what you can and can't sell to be considered a "compliant" closet, according to Poshmark. It's entirely your choice, but I primarily mentor Poshers to help them achieve greater success. ๐Ÿ˜Š

queenmumm @jnc650 Hey Jessica! Hair creams fall into the health and beauty items category and are not currently supported. This includes all hair products such as shampoos, conditioners, waxes and styling gels (just to name a few). Thanks for asking. :) Cheers!

queenmumm @bluidvll Hi Janet - you are correct that the FAQs show the older policy. Many users received an email directly from Poshmark stating that the policy has changed. I updated my list as soon as I received confirmation. Sometimes it takes a few days for the FAQs to catch up to the current policy. That's why I created this blog - to get us all up to speed ASAP. :)

Oct 17Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @yugiohmom PM asks that you not share items that don't comply with guidelines, hence you won't see them included as host picks. As for an approved item in a non-compliant closet, that's your choice. Keep in mind that some Poshers may have sold non-compliant items that can't be deleted while they are working towards compliancy. Good luck! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘‘

Oct 19Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @yugiohmom For the purposes of using pics found online, giving a pic credit to the site involved is usually sufficient. (Eg. "Pic 1 via polyvore.com"). If you use a stock pic and your item is not retail, make sure to add in your own pics so the buyer knows exactly what she's getting. Detailed info on this subject can be found at blog.poshmark.com ("Posh Tip" 2/4/15)

Oct 19Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @gonecoastal Sorry for any confusion. There's a lot of grey area in what is and isn't allowed and I tune into what other Poshers have heard, verify that info with HQ and then add it. I've been maintaining this list for almost two years and it's been through a number of rewrites. I liken it to listing every single thing you can buy at the grocery store (in the old days, food. Nowadays, outdoor furniture.)๐Ÿ˜†

missrochelles Hi Brenda! I had a question for you๐Ÿ˜˜ The new feature "retail tags attached."...... I thought this was for items I purchased at that designers store and also for items that I make myself and I use my brand "Miss Rochelle's" on? It's just not to be used on items with the brand blacked out from being at like Tj maxx. Am I confused? I just want to understand it. Thanks so much for your time๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
Oct 22Reply
queenmumm
queenmumm @missrochelles Hey Rochelle - think of "NWT retail" as being an item that is being sold for the first time, acquired directly from a brand or distributor. Sellers in this capacity are usually contracted with that brand to follow specific guidelines on pricing and also hold a reseller's permit. Acquiring a NWT item from a department store and selling it is not the same. In that case it would just be "NWT". Hope this helps. :)

chicknthesticks Hi Brenda, I'm Robynne. I've heard so many wonderful things about you, and now I see why. You're so helpful to others! โค I have two questions, when you have time: When we're in "Mentor mode" with a brand new Posher, what is the best way to let her know she's not Posh-compliant (if she's not)? Do we still just report it and let Posh handle it?

chicknthesticks @queenmumm Next, regarding reports, it's evident that Posh is overwhelmed with reports, because items I reported weeks ago are still listed. Do you think it's possible that they might consider allowing seasoned, mature Poshers volunteer to help on their own time, from home? It's just a thought.

chicknthesticks @queenmumm I also suggested they send a mass email to all users reminding everyone of the rules. Some don't care, but some truly don't know. They've never read them, possibly because there's no detailed list on the app. It's pretty vague. Speaking of detailed lists, I'd like to share the link to your blog regarding unauthorized items if it's okay with you. Thank you so much for what you do for other Poshers! I appreciate you! โคโ˜บ

queenmumm @rcatheron Hey Robynne! All very good questions. It's a very careful line to walk when talking to a newbie about non compliancy. We aren't here to accuse, so I try to instruct the way I would want to learn. A great opening line might be to tag in and ask if that seller has received a host pick yet. When she says no, ask her if she would like help in getting one. This opens the dialogue to give more info, not just compliancy, and you know you have permission to bring it up. And always ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š smile.

queenmumm @rcatheron As for non-compliancy, HQ works to remove items ASAP but it can take a while. The more strenuous rule breakers (designer fakes, highly offensive items) are dealt with 1st. Hence, a vacuum cleaner may hang around, though the seller won't be getting HPs or shares & will usually delete after being mentored. Compliancy is improving, word is getting out. There are no plans to involve Poshers in policing listings. We do enough by reporting. HQ should have final say in all instances.

queenmumm @rcatheron Oh, and you have my permission to use the link. There is a shorter, faster to read list available at the link on my about page. I give newbies the longer one. Poshers use the shorter one for reference. :) cheers!

chicknthesticks @queenmumm Gotcha, and thank you for the quick replies! I kinda knew the answers already, but needed to verify. Again, huge thanks! โค๐Ÿ’˜๐Ÿ’–

azurebluecanary
azurebluecanary This is good. Another Posher referred me to your blog. I'm concerned about all the contact lenses being sold here. If you search there's scores if not hundreds listed. The FDA site has a lot of information about this - selling them without a valid prescription from an eye doctor is illegal, including colored contacts for cosmetic purposes. I think a lot of people aren't aware it's illegal. They can cause permanent eye damage and vision loss.

azurebluecanary @queenmumm I've reported dozens of listings and sellers many are still there after being reported multiple times and I know others have reported them as well. This is just as illegal as selling replicas and more serious in my opinion because of the potential damage they can cause. Replicas aren't going to harm someone's eyes or vision. Perhaps Poshmark needs more people to monitor and remove these illegal listings... I'm sure it must be a challenge.

queenmumm @azurebluecanary Hi Suzi! Thank you for tuning into the blog. Happy to have you as a reader. You make a very valid point on the dangers of contact lenses purchased without a prescription, and I will definitely convey your concerns to HQ. Feel free to email them as well. They always welcome feedback on what can be improved on the site, and are concerned with Posher safety. Cheers and thanks again! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ˜Š

1roguepuppy Thank you do much for this post. So true, but also so well written. Honest, kind, & thoughtful. I have a burning question & you seem to be a good person to ask. I received an item that wasn't as described. Boots listed in like new condition w/minimal wear. When I received them, the sole liners were peeled up & they were unwearable. The heels also had some height loss that wasn't pictured. I needed to order new liners for $15. I wasn't sure what the appropriate course of action was. (cont'd)
