I sent an email, postrd to poshmarks facebook page and reached out to a couple of other poshers that have hosted meet and greets for any guidelines, suggestions or ideas. missdebb Just wanted to let everyone know that I heard back from poshmark and we have their blessing to move forward with our meet and greet @clothzminded @cbarth0 @d2mosel @sbklatt @kimberlydriskel. I am thinking a date in late March to hopefully miss any snowstorms Please continue to share with any posh ladies from our area. One suggestion I had from another posher is to charge a small fee of $20-$25 to cover expenses (food/drinks etc for luncheon). I will continue to update as I move forward. Please do not hesitate to share any thoughts or suggestions. I am also thinking of a hotel in the area of crown center for us to stay Saturday night.

missdebb Hi Michael @weatherlymh01 I wanted to get your input since you are from KC. I am thinking of hosting in one of three areas, The Plaza, Zona Rosa or The Legends. I am not as familiar with the area of Zona Rosa, are there hotels in the immediate area? I had planned on having a luncheon, go shopping then hang around the hotel in the evening to visit. weatherlymh01 Honestly nothing says shopping like the Plaza and there are a ton of restaurants. I think that would b3 perfect. Of course most of it is higher end shopping but it would still be fine. Several restaurants will take reservations though not all of them. The only major issue might be hotels as there aren't that many around the Plaza but they are there and I am assuming most people will be driving so they could stay a bit out if needed. I'm from Lees Summit so not that familiar with Zona Rosa or the Legends just too far North for me.

missdebb The Plaza was my first choice but I was second guessing myself because of the high end stores, but it does have a lot of the same stores that are at Zona Rosa too. I am not really a big fan of the Legends but it was an area to consider. I'll have to do a little more research on hotels and restaurants after the Holidays so I can get things finalized and let poshmark know the final details. My original plan was to get a suite and host a luncheon their but I think I'm going to check into restaurants for lunch and then have appetizers/finger foods back at the hotel in the evening. missdebb @charmcity I thought I would reply on my post in my closet, maybe you might know a few of the other poshers from KC that have responded here. Dede has done a wonderful job getting the word out and finding interested ladies. Once I get the place set I will send out an official invite using eventbrite.com so we can get a good head count, then Dede and I can get things finalized @d2mosel. We are requesting a $25 fee to help with expenses, just not for sure yet how to handle the luncheon. I went to one in AR and she had a luncheon in one of the suites and made all the food herself but there were only 6 of us. Right now I think we will have double that for sure so I'm thinking it would be better to go somewhere then have finger foods for dinner back at the hotel.

kimberlydriskel I'm so sorry I wasn't able to do more. It looks like what started as some "minor" issues have turned into super complicated problems. My liver is damaged and continues to get worse and the Dr's can't figure out why as I'm not a drinker or some of the other "typical" issues u see with liver problems. My liver doc actually told me that I was a very interesting case. Then went on to say what we find "interesting" isn't a great thing for the patient bc it means you're atypical. Like he said we'd just assume you were lying or too embarrassed to admit to your drinking except that while you have certain markers for that in your liver you would also show problems in other organs and even additional things in your liver that you don't have. But he called me a tiny person which of course endeared me to him immediately! He really does have a great bedside manner and from the research I've done KU really is on the cutting edge (so to speak) in transplant technology (if it comes to that) and in their specialized fields. They're supposed to be a leading hospital in new technology, and when my son had epilepsy they were the one's that finally figured out in addition to his grand mals that his medication was treating effectively, he was having small frontal lobe seizures throughout the day that were basically resetting his brain every 3-7 minutes. It was so frightening because I thought one of his grandmals had caused brain damage and his dr at NKC hadn't given a firm dx but said he was thinking it was a strong possibility. Then we go to KU, one test. They hook him up, treat him like a king with a menu and room service anytime he wants. A TV with cable and a gaming system. 12 hours later his neuro knew exactly what was wrong, had him on the new meds, and within 2 days I had my son back. Then when he was around 17 he just outgrew the epilepsy. I thank God every day for that. So sorry this turned into an episode of here's your life. I just wanted you to know I will definitely be attending and how sorry I am. I feel like I abandoned you with this huge project. If you guys need any smaller things done or a project u think I could handle, I will help however I can. You have done a wonderful job with everything!

missdebb I am so sorry to hear @kimberlydriskel I hope they can figure it all out soon. I went thru almost a year arguing with my doctor about my gallbladder. She ran every test possible and basically told me nothing was wrong with me as I sat there in pain. Ended up in ER twice in one week, finally the second ER dr told me that tests can't always find everything and he agreed that it sounded like my gallbladder so he sent me to a surgeon. Who tells me he doesn't like to perform surgery without something telling him it's necessary, I told him it was necessary and he was removing it. When I went back for my follow up he proceeded to tell me I did the right thing because my gallbladder wasn't functioning at all. So...keep on them until you get your answer. I hope you will be able to join us for lunch or spend the evening with us if you aren't able to for the whole day. Take care and keep in touch.

jeweledonyx @missdebb Thank you😊 It is pretty serious, but of long standing. In a bad flareup right now, but when it calms down I'm fine😇 Just not responding to usual treatment. I certainly pray it'll be under control waaay before 3/21. LOL I'm literally on pins and needles to come, I'd stay with my MIL. She lives 10 min. from Zona Rosa and we actually stayed at the Hyatt Place for the Christmas holiday....I think everyone will love the accommodations I also want to see my new grandbaby; just getting from STL to KCMO could be an issue. jeweledonyx I'm so glad you tagged me! What a sweet thing to say! However when I told my hubby about going to KCMO alone he kinda went ballistic-- No way do I get to see our grandson w/o him! So here we go...husband, 2 dogs and me with a bag of shoes, ROFL!! Are there any rooms left at the Hyatt? I thought I saw there were rooms blocked off for the gathering. If not, let me know, I can still make reservations. My MIL is allergic to our puppers, our grandson is a micropremie, so we don't stay with our daughter because of the puppers, either. Can't stand those two little stinkers and can't stand to be away from them being boarded. I know that particular Hyatt is dog friendly. So, if my health improves, we'll have reservations. Did you say 8 grandkids? Oh My!!! You are truly blessed!! Hugs--Kaye

missdebb LOL @jeweledonyx I had a block of rooms but you had to have at least ten rooms to get the block rate (which was only about $10 less) most of the ladies coming are from the KC area and won't need a room. I know @chicbirdie is coming in from out of town and @anoliver is going to try and make it too. I'm in south west Olathe which is a little drive up there for me, so I'm going to stay the night. Go rest up 💤💤💤 get better 💊💊 so you can come see that new grand baby 👶👶

jeweledonyx Not a prob @missdebb! It's generally a hotel catering to business travelers so we'll be fine, I'm sure. We lived in Lenexa, so yeah it is a bit of a drive. However, my bestie also lives in Olathe and if she finds out we're actually coming, I may be in Olathe! LOL Plus my hubby and I have friends and relatives all over the city, so it's more an issue of hiding so we can do what we want: me? PoshPartying and grandson. Him? Grandson and hanging out w/his buddies. missdebb It is a get together to meet other poshers from the surrounding area @kathyhansen38 I went to one in AR last year and had so much fun that I decided to host one for the Midwest. We are going to meet for lunch then go shopping at Zona Rosa and then meet back up at The Hyatt Place. I have a room reserved for the evening and will have appetizers/finger foods and beverages. Poshmark sends a gift box of "goodies" and I'll also have door prizes. Different areas of the states hold there own, there was one in LA last week and I believe AZ had one too. Chicago has one coming up and TN is having one in May, which I'm planning on going to that one. I hope you will consider coming. missdebb You might check out our website lansing trade group @kait624 I don't know what is open right now or the type of skills you have but they were looking for a scanner (not the ideal job) but it's a way in the door. Several ladies have started as scanners and have moved on to other positions in the company. I think they are or were looking for a receptionist too, again is don't know your qualifications or work history but I thought I would just let you know.

Of course everyone's itinerary is different but each charges a fee for the evening. I do hope you can make it.

I thought about Jose Peppers but we had mexican at the last outing and I didn't think we would want to do that again but being Mexican myself I'm always down for some Jose peppers :) Anyway, is 1:00pm still good to eat and shopping at 3:00pm?
