Here are some easy fast ways to tell if MAC is authentic. I am seeing more & more fake pigments. Google colors before purchasing. Most fakes will have names that belong to other items. For example a pigment will be named swimming...but that name is actually an eyeshadow. Counterfeit make up products containing high concentrations of various metals and carcinogenic ingredients normally banned from use in cosmetics. Applying these ingredients to the skin could lead to long-term health issues.

valentinosam I'm glad you posted this. SO many users post fake items, and I hate seeing a fake mac product with a "sold" sign on it, makes me wonder if the person who purchased it knew. 😞 I heard the fakes come from China, and have embalming fluids and stuff like that in them. Gross.

valentinosam @mar825 yes! I'm not sure if you're familiar with the app mer. Car. I (spelled weird I know) but I see 10X as many fakes.. And they lie about it too!!

valentinosam @mar825 ohh. It's an app like this- but they don't charge commission and such. And you're able to post anything- which makes it easier to sell counterfeits

bellydoll I got scammed. Worst part is I was buying for my foster girls and to think what they could have been using on their face. So scary. Thanks so mush for the post. mar825 @valentinosam the "mac" brushes u like arent mac. 100 numbers are face brushes (ex: foundation, blush), 300's are lips, & 200's are eyes. I noticed a brush for eyes but it had a 100 number. Then i noticed a 252 but made like a 213. The 252 is much bigger & has yellow blond hair. Smh

mar825 @valentinosam they look authentic! The numbers match the brush. But i'm curious why she would say that u cant exchange them. The middle one is black & white synthetic, that is why it has a red tone. The white picks up the pigment from the product

valentinosam @mar825 oooh- I'm only interested in her eyeshadow in blushes but she always ignores my questions. Then completely ignores me, then later deletes the listing. That's why I was wondering if the things are fake ? You know? Doesn't make much sense to ignore a potential customer😒

prepinpearls A holiday brush set in white and 3 lipsticks. Do all of her lipsticks seem real? That's what makes me super nervous! I hate the idea of not knowing what I'm putting on my face.

mar825 @prepinpearls u should be good. She has way to many items that are limited. Counterfeiters dont make limited stuff. And all her lipsticks match up, color, texture, etc. there was this one that i saw from someone else. Called lady bug & the texture was satin but it should be luster. Lmao

smarsh93 I try to let people know though when something is fake and sometimes I get the oh man I didn't know and they reduce/change it or delete it... but 9/10x they already know and get defensive and flip out relist and block so then I report them I've seen a few people with tons and tons of makeup that's fake it is horrible and they sell alot as real to so many poor people

smarsh93 I didn't trash that girl I wanted to buy but was hesitant and asked a question about it wtf. Please let her know I was an interested buyer who was just jipped on 3 pigments (what was in the pics wasn't what I was sent) and I just didn't want to buy another fake I have no use for them but the trash cause theyre dangerous I didn't say they were fake I said I was hesitant cause I didn't see the numbers

trist0308 I have been a RM with MAC since 2008 and the amount of fakes that I have seen on here is incredible! So glad you posted this! It is extremely frustrating to see especially knowing that some of these fakes can be dangerous for the skin and eyes!
