I've seen WAY too many people selling fake uggs as "authentic" for full price! Please educate yourselves and know how to determine the difference :) no one wants to pay a fortune for cheaply made imitations! Some only use the "holographic" tag as an indication of authenticity. This tag is not always in the boots, and this tag has been used in imitations as well. If any inside tag says "patent pending" they're imitations. Hope this helps!

brinne @primp actually if YOU did your research, you would know that UGG is very selective about whom they purchase their sheepskin from. It comes only from butchers that do not practice mulesing or torture their animals in any way. The sheep are already being butchered for their meat, and ugg purchases the hides. This way no part of the animal goes to waste. If YOU did your research, you would also know that unauthentic uggs tend to use cow and pig hides, so I'm that case, it's still an animal being used. Go straight to the source and the company for your facts. Random YouTube videos aren't always created by reliable sources. Remember that before synthetic materials were available, people mainly wore animal hides. They killed animals to eat because that was how they survived. It's a way of life. Not all companies torture animals. Get your facts straight. Not every animal rights activist video on the Internet is accurate or true to EVERY company.

brinne @tracee08 if it's the chocolate brown pair, those are not real. Notice the tag says the sole is "blown rubber" well, ugg has a flexible Eva outsole... Not blown rubber. Also it says the inner lining is sheep skin. The inner lining is actually uggpure wool. Hope this helps

brinne @tracee08 so some must be made in Vietnam as well as China. The inside tag is not always the best indicator to look for. I have seen fake uggs with a holographic tag. The best thing to look at is the fur and the color shape and material of the boot. The faux fur in fake uggs isn't as thick and almost looks shiny like polyester or a synthetic material like that. The slope of the boot on fake uggs is less natural and and the stitching uneven

brinne @kj060686 the tag in yours also says "substance II" and those are the "classic tall" style. I have been certified in ugg retail and know the difference. It's not being rude, it's called warning others so they don't get scammed. You can also get in trouble with posh for selling fakes, and those definitely are.

I checked eBay authenticity info and found one that said blown rubber was legit. Of course, there is no clear info about the outer sole. Lmk what you think. 😃

bellamafiainc I got some Bailey bow uggs and was so worried thought they where fakes cause my tag said Vietnam. I came across this and I seen there was a patent # so I looked up that patent number and it's a patent for decker out doors and that's who makes uggs so that's a easy way too know if ur worried about the Tagg and everything else checks out.

countrychick72 @kimb1216 Both authentic & fake can say "made in Vietnam" on the box. The stitching is the easiest way for me to tell without a comparison next to it. Fakes do not have the perfect stitching.

psunity Hi, I need help to authenticate my Ugg. My mom bought it for me a few month ago from her friend, it was size 9 and I usually wore 7.5, i thought wut da heck 1 size bigger isn't a biggie, until I wore them yesterday to go to post office about 2 blocks away, it was definitely too big!!. ebeths73 I'm trying to figure out how to spot difference in the knee high leather/suede boots, but can't find anything. The serial number directs me to the boots and the other number directs me to Ugg. That's the only tag on the boot and it is well constructed. I own a few pairs and first I've bought off here so just checking. My others fit perfect, but these are a tad bigger which made me nervous. These are the Dree boots. TIA!

penandray1 Hey! I got duped ( on Merc...) a few weeks ago. The inner fur should all be ONE color! Not the shaft one color and the sole part a different color(I didn’t know lmfao). The left boot will also have a QR code on the tag (for authentication). The barcode on the box will be red, blue(or violet depending on your eyes), and then black (from top to bottom). There are also plenty of YouTube videos. Happy hunting!

donoyyc @lfh2297 I know this is an old post but seeing as fake Uggs are still rampant I figured I would throw in some more information. The Uggs we all buy today are in fact not the original Uggs. The original Ugg boots are still being made by the same company today which you can find by googling Ugg since 1974. They have alot of info about how the other Uggs came to be on their website. These boots are ONLY made in Australia.

sunnygirl48 Does anyone know if older youth Uggs ever have a tag that is specifically EU sizing? They are listed on another resale site, they look like older kids classic short, but I've never seen an interior tag that just says 32 (EU sizing).
