I started off with 1 (she was a Christmas Present for my husband who is a trucker) but then I could not BARE for her to leave with him, so we were on the hunt for another one for him, we found 2 (rescues) a brother & sister.. I kept the boy (he is tiny only 4lbs but THINKS he is so big) my hubs took the girl.. it was great.. I swore NO MORE, then there was another rescue I found on my BIRTHDAY.. sitting there so cute getting rained on in her crate at a fall festival, I held her & that was IT.. Mama of 4.. SHE FIT RIGHT IN & SHE ALSO GOES WITH MY HUBS, SO TWO ARE HOME FULL TIME & TWO ARE "ROAD DOGS"..LOL (sorry bout the caps, new keybard, its killing me to get used to it) haha I wouldn't trade them for anything.. well, except when someone comes to the door & they bark like crazy.. haha Blessings to your new addition!!! I absolutely cannot be around Chi puppies, ... I will e the mama of 5, I just know it.. I'm bound to be that crazy dog lady if this keeps up.. hahaha

gwenburks I lost my little girl Heidi my first chi last summer she got hit right in front of me then got Margie a little after They have so much personality but can't "completely " potty train for nothing! The girls get excited they tinkle, this boy makes it to the door and craps thank goodness it's tiny and solid.! Do you have accident with yours sometimes?@gothess

gothess @gwenburks oh my gosh Gwen, I would have died.,.. I am so so sorry, that had to be just awful.. I honestly could not imagine. :( I have nightmares about something happening to one of mine, I am SO attached!! My only boy (the smallest) has had some kind of eye thing going on where his eye's will flare up and swell so bad they look like they are going to pop out of the sockets. I have spent about $500 trying to figure out what it is & why it keeps happening. The next step is a cat (haha) scan of the back of his eyes... which is very $$$.. so I am trying to put money aside for that, you feel so VERY helpless when something goes wrong & there is very little help if you do not have a lot of $$! I too have had issues with "accidents" with my chi's... I have tried EVERYTHING. What seems to work the best is I purchased a small pop up pack & play (like for a toddler) and I keep them in there when I get busy & cannot watch them... they like it because it has all kinds of soft puppy beds in it & they feel safe & snug. Then as soon as I let them out of the pack & play I take them out. We just purchased a new house (we closed on the 23rd) CRAZY trying to move this time of year... but I made sure it had NO carpet.. I read somewhere that sometimes dogs get confused as to what is underfoot & if it FEELS like grass, they will tinkle/poop.. SO they have this one spot in my living room they keep going to.. in the new house there is tile flooring, so I am hoping that helps... and if it doesn't.. it will be easier to clean at least. LOL I couldn't imagine life without them.. I have gotten a chi for every child I had that went & grew up on me.. (I have 4 kids) LOL!! They will always stay my "babies".. ;)

gwenburks Congrats on your new home. The pack and play is a good idea. I use a kennel now. But like that idea better. The cane corso gotta this cherry I thing in her eye that budges out and is red ! I thought she blew a gasket because it happened when she saw my youngest rough housing with a kid which she never seen before thank God my yard is fenced in!!! She's 166! But the vet sad it's not a big deal when she calms down it goes back in hehehehe I have four kids too youngest just made 13 then there's 26,21,17 the previous owner gave people food to the boy chi and I waited him out he didn't eat for 3 days just as I was ready to give in I heard him crunching on kibble Heidi girl had an awful stomach couldn't tolerate threw up all the time and then I learned its a big No no no causes pancreatitis But this boy puppy not eating like I would like I hope he gets it soon and stop waiting on me to share mine with him. I can't handle the germanshepard lab mix and wanted to give him away but hubby said no. I want him to get a Batchelor who is active and has time for a companion he's 17months and thinks he's 5 months big ole scooby doi he knocks over everything he looks funny has lab face and shepherd bodytall with big ole feet I think part wolf he chomps his teeth all the time like their too big for his mouth idk but I got a teddy bear coming when the momma mates again don't know the real name of the dog but she said it's teddy bear ever seen one?@gothess
