Exactly!!! I bought a romper for my niece at target for $22 which to me is a fair price, and later that night I thought to look in here and saw the same exact one being sold for $45!? WTH!? Sucks for whomever actually buys it! Lol

I love that everyone is saying "it's basic economics, supply and demand!" to justify their markups but they have no idea that they are flooding the online market with their supply and I don't see any of it selling! Soon they will have to drop prices to even below retail and who will be laughing at basic economics then?! 😂

I saw some people buying the for target stuff at prices that are more than regular Lilly Pulitzer! I got a tote for $15 and then saw that tote selling for $150. You could get a real Lilly for $88 and get better quality. People. Smh.

@maritzacorona It's ridiculous! That's what prompted me to make this post! I thought the jumper and kaftan was cute and the towels would be cute for my nieces, but when I saw some of the prices, I was amazed! I buy a cuter better quality item from the store.

@lisabur Yes! I am patiently waiting until they start to return those items! Lol! Like I said, I don't prefer the Target brands, but for the right price, I would purchase a few things! It doesn't make sense to pay a premium for them! May as well go to the Lilly store!

@miyuki @caitlineliason So true, I think we women get caught up in the hoopla and some of us stop thinking and start to make bad decisions. I like Lilly Pulitzer, but the purpose of the Target brand was to make it affordable to the masses. If you jack the price up, they've defeated the purpose and may as well buy the real thing! I just want people to stop and think! $50 for a $10 cosmetic bag is ridiculous!

@lisabur @dede2015 On Sunday when I tried to order from the Lilly line at Target there was a statement that all product must be returned within 14 day... Let's see what our feeds looks like after these people cant' sell their product AND can't return it...LOL :)

@rhonda122 idk how to keep it off the feed but it's been driving me nuts when I try to look at the "just in" lilly and all I see is overpriced target crap, so to get around that you can put "lilly pulitzer -target" in the search box and it'll leave out anything with target in the listing! Just hope it stops clogging up my feed soon too!! Don't see why anyone would pay this much for target quality, some of it is cute but if you've got that much money to spend just buy real lilly!!

i completely agree, sunday i went and there was a lady with 4 carts full of stuff!! by the time i got to go in the store everything was gone, no trace of anything Lilly anywhere, not even the signs. I was so disappointed with all the people selling everything they bought i just went to the Lilly store and bought a real dress and accessories AND got a free gift.. people annoy me.

I went to my Target today and they had all of the Lilly items I wanted. Why? One woman returned $5,000 worth of items she bought on Sunday. This one woman literally bought every single dress on Sunday morning and returned them Tuesday. Appalling!!!

I posted something along the lines of this and it got reported by one of the sellers and posh removed it. I don't understand. Not once did I use profanity or name call and yet these sellers marking up for 200%+ profit have left me nasty, offensive comments telling me that I'm uneducated because I don't know "supply and demand". I do understand, but I also understand ethics and greed. So upsetting!!

Most of the time it was just someone who obviously wasn't overly familiar with the brand and had honest questions about the price! I just think their actions taint the entire concept of partnering with mass retailers!

Target is complicit in this whole embarrassing mess. Big store chains have been "buying" designer names for years and have done it well. Vera Wang for Kohls is a great example. The clothes are obviously not couture but are cute and very reasonable. They accomplished this without causing a riot. I guess Target thinks any publicity is good publicity. That shocked and disappointment they profess is B ....well you know. Anticipating market demand is their wheelhouse.

You ladies are so right!! I've got skirts, shorts, shirts and dresses that are the "real" lilly pulitzer brand which I paid less for than what people are paying for target brand. Everyone loves a good deal, and definitely a lot of the items are cute, but $60 for flip flops!! $80 for bathing suits. It's a real shame. I don't even mind if people want to make a profit, but these markups are RIDICULOUS!!!!!!

someone is selling a dress that is over a $100 markup & I literally can't believe it. like maybe I understand the shift dresses that everyone's looking for for about $70 ish (I still wouldn't pay that) but it's a lot more reasonable than over $150. I've gotten some things at target for free & it's crazy to think that people are getting 100% profit on such crazy markups. I always take offers though even if my things are priced near retail.

I just searched Lilly for target and I love that everyone agrees with this. The whole point of Lilly for target was for those who wouldn't normally be able to purchase real Lilly could enjoy it. But instead you have greedy women who are only looking for a profit. It saddens me lol

I’m all about people making an extra couple of bucks and I’ve sold a few items on this site but people forget this is CONSIGNMENT, which means the reselling of used items! If an item cost you $200 at the actual store and you used it even once, it’s used and just like driving a brand new car off the lot…you’re not ever going to get the same value for it again. Doesn't the Lilly for Target tag show a Target and Lilly symbol? I am only asking because I have never laid my eyes on Lilly Pulitzer at Target. I personally have always shopped irectly from the Lilly Pulitzer store and I can say this their dresses, leggings, all luxletic, shoes, etc are very highly priced. Is there another way to rule out LP and LP for Target?
