jleeluv2shopHi Lauren, welcome to Posh & thx 4 the share! New myself 😊. hadn't had too much luck in selling yet 😢. Cute closet wished we shared the same size. Beautiful pics & best in Greece!

May 03Reply

santorinigirl@jleeluv2shop Hi Jeannie!! 🌷 welcome to Posh too! You will have luck soon enough! All I do is follow as many people as I can and share all the time 😄 thank you! I see that you live in New York! I have never been there. Fun fact about myself: I have been to more countries than states in the U.S. haha 😜

May 03Reply

jleeluv2shopIf u live in Chicago...prob not missing much. NY is similar. Ur a traveler that's wonderful. Wish I could do that. Appreciate the tip, I'll try to follow & share more👍.

May 03Reply

travelbuggingerHi! New to Posh here, too. Congratulations on the graduation, and best wishes on your move. I grew up in the middle east and Greece was a close getaway and home of dear friends. It became like a second home as a kid, but I've not been back in years. Hope this new chapter of life is amazing! Happy Poshing! :)

May 13Reply

santorinigirl@travelbugginger Hi there! :) Thanks so much! What parts of Greece did you travel too? Traveling is so addicting, it really makes me feel so alive. A lot of people like to stay in one place but I am not one of those! My boyfriend lives in Santorini :) It really is such a magical place. I love the close community they have, it makes me feel so welcome. Where else have you travelled? Happy Poshing :D

May 14Reply

travelbuggingerI agree. Traveling can be addictive! :) To reply to you, we road tripped occasionally and made it to some of the islands, but home base was always Glyfada (which used to be a mellow suburb of Athens). My dad was in intl public health so we moved abroad when I was young and traveled the world for years. I became a flight attendant later so kept traveling.

May 14Reply

travelbuggingerMet my husband 5 yrs ago & between getting married, returning to school & other life circumstances, haven't been abroad sense. No complaints though... Love my quiet life with him and our pupppy dogs. He's a European History Prof though, so also loves to travel & we'll be headed to Italy in a few months w/ a group of students for a semester. Plan to travel a bit after the students head home, too. WooHoo! :)

May 14Reply

travelbuggingerSorry to take up so much room. Anyway, your pics are beautiful. I hope this new chapter of life will be really meaningful & that you'll love living in Santorini. Haven't been there, but I hear that it's, as you say, "magical"! I love places with a close sense of community, too. Happy Poshing! :)

May 14Reply

May 15Reply

santorinigirl@georginawalker Santorini is such a nice place to get married 😍 especially in Oia, everything is so picturesque. Let me know if you end up coming back to Santorini 😄 it is my favorite place in Greece. Did you travel anywhere else in Greece?

May 15Reply

georginawalker@weichln We only were in Athens then Two weeks in Santorini. We were married in Imerovigli at the Astra Resort....it is quite amazing. Magical really💗💗💗 I would love to visit some of the other islands. I think it is so romantic you found your Love there💞💍he is very handsome 💝💓

amt154@weichln congrats to you and best wishes for your new life in Greece! I loved Santorini, you are so lucky to be calling it home!! 💕 what a beautiful country.

Jul 06Reply

santorinigirl@amt154 thanks so much! 😄 Santorini really is a magical place! What parts of Greece have you visited ? 💕

Jul 06Reply

amt154@weichln I was in Santorini for a week, Athens for two weeks, and Poros for a week with a day trip to Hydra thrown in. I was in a recent alumni tour group for my university for part of that trip, then traveled on my own after. I actually met my boyfriend (also an American) on that trip, and we've been together going on three years now. So now we always say if you want to find love, you should travel! ☺️ sounds like it worked for you too!!

Jul 06Reply

santorinigirl@amt154 I love hearing stories like that and I am so happy for you! 😄They always say when you travel, you don't have to try to be someone you are not, you are 100% yourself. So when you meet someone while traveling, you get to know each other fully and that's why love can last! 💕

Jul 06Reply

hila808Nice to meet you Lauren & congrats to you! So happy for you & I'm glad you experienced studying abroad. I studied abroad many many yrs ago in London & since then I can't stop traveling. Wishing you the very best. Lovely closet 😘

Jul 06Reply

amt154@weichln and when we got back to the US, I was off to law school on the east coast and he was heading home out west. He's been putting up with a stressed and sleep deprived grad student since day one so I know he's a keeper and a good man! I almost didn't make the trip and I'm so thankful every day that I did. Can you imagine how less full our lives would be if we didn't travel? We are so blessed!

Jul 06Reply

Oct 01Reply

islandofstyleI agree! I was fortunate to grow up in Europe when I was little. We traveled all over I loved it! My favorites were Greece and Spain! But I loved it all! The food, art, architecture all fabulous!!! I guess that's why I truly dislike staying in one place very long! I get the itch to go somewhere. ✈️

May 18Reply

nicole_1024I saw your name & had to ask! I'll be going to Greece (Athens, Ethos + Santorini) in August for my honeymoon! Any hot spots or suggestions on where to go? & of course places to stay away from! Thank so much! Xx

May 26Reply

santorinigirl@nicole_1024 hi there, sorry it took me awhile to respond :) congrats on your marriage! You will have a magical time in Greece for your honeymoon. For Athens, Athens status suites is a great hotel or anywhere near Acropolis, plaka or syntagma square. Close to syntagma, there is an amazing shopping area. Go to the monostraki area for cafes and restaurants like 360. Go see the Acropolis of course 😄Avoid the Omonia neighborhood

Jun 01Reply

santorinigirl@nicole_1024 for Santorini, go everywhere! Haha 😄 but realistically, all the beaches are amazing. Red beach and perissa beach are a must. Go see the sunset at Oia. Also, go to fira for coffee, shopping and food. Akrotiri has great archeological sites. Zafora, idol restaurant and rastoni are all amazing restaurants by the caldera.

Jun 01Reply

santorinigirl@nicole_1024 also, go to Santorini winery. It's such a beautiful place there! Buses go everywhere on the island but it might be better and cheaper to rent an ATV 😄if I think of anything else or you have any other questions, just ask 💕🌷 Jojo beach bar, wet stories and also chili are some nice places to go to in perissa by the beach. Clubs/bars to go to include highlander, murphy's and koo club which is our favorites in fira 💜

Jun 01Reply

nicole_1024You're amazing! Thank you SO so much ☺️💛💛💛💛

Jun 01Reply

Dec 01Reply

santorinigirl@urbanlove Ohhhh, when did you go to Santorini? Where in Greece have you been? We are missing it SO much. I want to go back and live there again one day :)

Dec 01Reply

urbanloveI want to retire there!!!! I went a few years ago totally spur of the moment by myself ., I stayed in Athens a few days then eos ? Then Santorini for a few weeks ...omg I like be it sooo much

Dec 01Reply

lildutchgirl55Thank you for your shares! I hope to visit Santorini someday!

Dec 01Reply

santorinigirl@urbanlove Yes, retiring there would be perfect! It sucks because if you live and work there, it can be expensive because you are not making much. Rent is only about 300-500 euro per month but you are paying tourist prices for everything else. But if you make good money here and then move to Santorini, you can buy a huge house for around 200,000 if you don't want to rent! :)

Dec 01Reply

santorinigirl@lildutchgirl55 Thank you for sharing as well. Yes, you would love it in Santorini!

Dec 01Reply

urbanloveI'm Making retiring there my goal for sure ! My 401k will be totally good to live on by then lol ..it's perfect I felt so at home. I don't even know what made me go there ..I can fly there anytime pretty cheap ..I need to go back sooon

Dec 01Reply

santorinigirl@urbanlove I completely understand, it does have a home-like feeling to it. It is also probably because the life is so different from America. It is slower paced and everyone goes for coffee all the time and relaxes. SO nice. Dimitri and I hope to buy a house there one day and maybe open a hotel. Maybe we will be neighbors in the future! :)

Dec 01Reply

Jan 22Reply

ppamprrdHello, I am a Chicagoan too! I love Santorini 😉. We actually have a meet up planned for next Friday night. The Chicago Posher FB Group seemed to go inactive, so we started a new group. I would love to meet you.

Jan 23Reply

santorinigirl@ppamprrd When did you go to Santorini? I really miss it there! I was wondering when there was meet ups happening in Chicago. What is the new group called? When/where is the meet up? I would love to meet you too! :)

Jan 23Reply

ppamprrdIt was my graduation present to myself for completing law school 😊. Our meet up is Friday night at Uno Mas Restaurant in The Glen, Glenview at 7 pm. If you leave your email, I can include the list of Poshers and the FB Group link.

Jan 23Reply

ppamprrd@santorinigirl uggh...i responded, but I didn't tag u. please see my comment above😶

Jan 23Reply

santorinigirl@ppamprrd well that is the best present to yourself ever 😄 ooo that sounds like a lot of fun. My email is weichln@mx.lakeforest.edu. I would love to come! How often do you ladies do meet ups?

Jan 24Reply

ppamprrd@santorinigirl ok. I will send u the info tomorrow morning. You might need to dig me out of spam. This is our first meet up and we can discuss meeting again.

Jan 24Reply

ppamprrd@santorinigirl Good morning. I just sent you an email. You might need to dig me out of spam.😊

krilizThanks for all the shares!!! Love all your pics abroad!

Jan 25Reply

santorinigirl@kriliz thanks so much 😄 I love the pictures of you and your family! I am so happy you get to travel too, it is such a life changing experience

Jan 25Reply

kriliz@santorinigirl it really is!! I live in Okinawa, Japan for 4 years and traveled to China, Indonesia and different parts of Malaysia. I loved traveling Asia. I need to do Europe next!!

Jan 25Reply

krilizThat's supposed to say I lived. I don't currently live there 😜

Jan 25Reply

santorinigirl@kriliz I think that was wishful thinking that you still live there 😜 wow, that's amazing! Why Japan? Money is so much better here than Greece which also pushed us to live here for awhile. But I want to go back and live there or in Auckland, New Zealand where I lived and studied before 😊

Jan 25Reply

kriliz@santorinigirl probably is wishful thinking 💭. My husband is in the Air Force so we were stationed there. I wish I could go back. Everything is wonderful about Okinawa and I miss everything about it. Especially the ramen house 🍜!! I definitely wouldn't mind visiting Greece. It sounds amazing there too.
