ex_globetrotter@acedirectsales Hi! Thanks so much for reaching and congratulations on your first party. It can be a little daunting but hosting is fun. I did this list years ago and hope it might still be useful. As for picking host picks, make sure you share from compliant closets e.g, no off app transactions, no nail polish/aerosols or other non USPS compliant items, no used underwear, etc. Luckily, Posh allowed more categories to be sold here. Please let me know if you have more questions.

stefanies23Thanks for these, so helpful! You mentioned you’ll meet the co-hosts a week before - is this by email? My first is Saturday but I haven’t seen anything except the initial confirmation email after I accepted 😳

Is this listing inappropriate? Report Listing

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 Hi Lynda! I tried to post a comment on your listing but with the 500 character limit these days, I couldn't. I hope you'll find these party tips helpful & please feel free to reach out if you have more questions. Can't wait to see your fab HP showroom. 💗

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@ex_globetrotter Thank You So Very Much!!!! How incredibly thoughtful and sweet of you. I truly appreciate it. The best part is that my two very best PFFs Karen @kcford24 and Ginger @travelbugginger are co-hosting with me! We are all thrilled to go through this adventure together for the first time! 😘😘😘😘😘

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 That's awesome!!! It will truly be a memorable night with your PFFs too! Can't wait to see all your HPs with @kcford24 & @travelbuggginger! 💗💗💗

Jul 19Reply

flutter_buysThanks for passing this on Lynda! ;) @lhaag721 @ex_globetrotter, Sheila

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@kcford24 You're very much welcome Karen! This is an exciting time & a turning point in your posh life! Congratulations! 👏🏻🎈💐🎉

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@ex_globetrotter A couple of questions that I keep thinking about... What is the best way to split up the number of host picks between co-hosts? How did you go about making sure that you didn't duplicate HPs? How did you make sure your HPs were evenly distributed between categories and also between your PFFs and new Poshers? @kcford24 @travelbugginger

Jul 19Reply

flutter_buysWell we each get 100 host picks. Then the categories would be what? 1. handbags 2. shoes 3. jewelry 4. dresses 5. tops? I'm just guessing? @lhaag721

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 PM advises to share up to 3 items max/closet & up to 10 items from yours. These are part of your 100 item limit. Personally,I share 1 item from my closet (if I do) & 1 each from my cohosts.I like making more people happier as possible.I think I did 70% newbies last time.I don't set how many per category but I like having a variety of items.

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 Oh,I forgot to mention to unlike the item after you share so you don't accidentally share it again. I also do a tally sheet so I know how many I've shared & how close I am to the limit.

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@kcford24 It's totally up to you what items to share as long as they are from posh compliant closets & theme appropriate. A good mix of the items you mentioned will be ideal. Finding fabulous items is fun but narrowing them to 100 is the tricky part.

Jul 19Reply

lynda721ex_globetrotter Sharing! @chopjaz @jsuchs @elisamari @mrsmandariaga @drea04 @247mommieto2 @courtmar

Jul 19Reply

flutter_buysI think 1 item out of someone's closet is enough. As long as it gets there closet noticed. also it gives a chance to have way more Closets and newbie's in to the party! @lhaag721

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@ex_globetrotter Oh! I thought we only got 100 in total!!! That makes so much more sense and makes things a lot easier! Do you see why I was confused, Karen? @kcford24

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@kcford24 That's true Karen. I also do that so more Poshers will be in the spotlight. 👍🏼

Jul 19Reply

flutter_buysOh now I do! I thought you knew we each got 100 picks. 😉💕

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 No worries, it's 100 per host but it's not easy. I wish we can all share to our hearts content. C'est la vie.

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@kcford24 Agreed. Also, I've had many previous hosts tell me that they don't share their own items; they have one of their co-hosts share yours, and you share yours. I really like that idea. @travelbugginger @chopjaz

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 Thanks for sharing this Lynda! I've been asked a few times before for party tips so this keeps me from typing them everytime esp now they've restricted comments to 500 characters.

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@ex_globetrotter Please continue to Share with New Hostesses! @baglover44

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@ex_globetrotter Sheila, how did you and your co-hosts manage not to duplicate a listing when picking HPs? Also, how not to both pick the same Posher and both share multiple items out of the same closet(s) @kcford24 @travelbugginger @chopjaz

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@kcford24 @ex_globetrotter I remember when I got my first HP; it was such a thrill. I can't wait to be able to give someone else that same gift! 😉 @chopjaz @travelbugginger

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@ex_globetrotter I keep a calendar of who is hosting on what date. I just went through and forwarded this to those who identified themselves as being new to Hosting. Thanks again for the work you put in to put this together and for answering our questions! Karen and I will make sure to reward you! @kcford24

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 I think the only time you can confer with your cohosts about the closets (w/o notifying the posher/closet & ruin the surprise) is when you posh party IRL (that happened a few times where the hosts are actually together in person). When I host, I monitor the HP showroom on my phone so I can see what items my cohosts are sharing. I've seen a few items already in the showroom that I intended to share so I went back in the Poshers closet to find another item to share & avoid duplications.

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 It's amazing & truly unforgettable. You'll never forget your first. 💗 @queenmumm shone the light in my closet & gave me my first host picks! I am grateful to have her as a friend, mentor & also had the opportunity to co-host a virtual party together. I also get to hang with her at PoshFest & meet ups all over the country. I'm at 98% for PF2015 Brenda! Are you going Lynda? 👏🏻💗💐🎉

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 @kcford24 You're very much welcome. We all share the love & pay it forward. We benefit from the wisdom of the ladies who've been there before us. 🙏

Jul 19Reply

flutter_buysYes, thank you Shelia! And I totally believe in paying it forward!! ;) Have a nice day! Talk to you ladies soon! ;)

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@kcford24 Have a wonderful weekend Karen! Chat soon! 😊

Jul 19Reply

lynda721@ex_globetrotter Not this year. I'm an East Coast Gal. I actually am going to have to have surgery on my left knee in the near future. I was in a bad car accident last September. I broke both of my legs. I am blessed to be alive. But, they need to go back into my left leg to continue to fix it. Maybe next year!

Jul 19Reply

chopjaz@lhaag721 @ex_globetrotter agreed, I hosted previously and my co-hosts were awesome. We all shared from one another's closets and to be honest it was much more enjoyable.

Jul 19Reply

ex_globetrotter@chopjaz Hi Linda! Yes, we get to host with wonderful women & it's a plus if we get to host with our PFFs too! Makes it more fun & memorable. 👍🏼

Jul 19Reply

chopjaz@ex_globetrotter very true!

Jul 19Reply

travelbuggingerShukran, Shiela, ;) for this helpful post and @lhaag721 and @kcford24 for the tags. I've read the thread above. Good information and, yes, I agree about shining the spotlight on others, on as many people as possible and on new closets. I'd rather not share my own or if we share each others, only one pick each so we won't end up hogging the showroom.

Jul 20Reply

travelbugginger@lhaag721 @kcford24 I'd read in another post that the way to make sure you don't share the same item as your co-host does (and in our case, because we're friends and travel in the same circles it's more of an issue than it might be for some), is to just make sure that one of your co-hosts hasn't "liked" the item when saving it to your own "likes" to share. Don't know if you find that helpful, but sounds like a good idea.

Jul 20Reply

ex_globetrotter@travelbugginger Afwan habibti! It is great to host with your friends & easier if you can chat in FB about your picks to avoid duplication of HPs. This will avoid the hassle of having to go back in the closet to look for a new item to share. When I host, I monitor the HP showroom on my phone & refresh it quite often so I see the items being shared in real time. I can't wait to hear about your theme. I'm sure it will be fun!!! 👍🏼💥🎉💗

Jul 20Reply

ex_globetrotter@lhaag721 Aw, Lynda! I hope to meet you someday too! I will pray that all will go well with your surgery later in the year. 🙏🏼

Jul 20Reply

flutter_buys@travelbugginger @lhaag721 @chopjaz I think that is a Great idea Ginger! Thanks!

Jul 20Reply

lynda721@ex_globetrotter I would love that! 💕💕💕

elleyposh@ex_globetrotter thank you 😘

Aug 03Reply

tonistwinkles@ex_globetrotter This is very helpful! I'm co hosting for the first time on 8/13....yikes! So, I'm curious, what does "vet the closets" mean? And how can you tell if your co hosts already Shared/picked something that you've picked as a HP, during the party? Geez, I'm nervous! And super excited!l lol. Thanks. 😊

Aug 04Reply

ex_globetrotter@twinkletoestoni Hi! Vetting closets is when you check if they're Poshmark compliant. That's the most time consuming thing with looking for host picks. You go through the closet & look at their listings & see if they follow all Poshmark rules. You can try to communicate with your cohosts in FB to see which closets you're getting picks from.

Aug 04Reply

ex_globetrotter@twinkletoestoni During the party, I monitor the HP showroom on my phone to see what my cohosts are sharing & if they shared that I'm planning to share, I go back to the poshers closet & look for another item to share. I hope these post/thread will be helpful to you as you prepare for your party.

Aug 04Reply

tonistwinkles@ex_globetrotter Ok, thank you so much.
