lynda721 @ex_globetrotter A couple of questions that I keep thinking about... What is the best way to split up the number of host picks between co-hosts? How did you go about making sure that you didn't duplicate HPs? How did you make sure your HPs were evenly distributed between categories and also between your PFFs and new Poshers? @kcford24 @travelbugginger

flutter_buys Well we each get 100 host picks. Then the categories would be what? 1. handbags 2. shoes 3. jewelry 4. dresses 5. tops? I'm just guessing? @lhaag721

ex_globetrotter @lhaag721 PM advises to share up to 3 items max/closet & up to 10 items from yours.These are part of your 100 item limit. Personally,I share 1 item from my closet (if I do) & 1 each from my cohosts.I like making more people happier as possible.I think I did 70% newbies last time.I don't set how many per category but I like having a variety of items.

ex_globetrotter @lhaag721 Oh,I forgot to mention to unlike the item after you share so you don't accidentally share it again. I also do a tally sheet so I know how many I've shared & how close I am to the limit.

ex_globetrotter @kcford24 It's totally up to you what items to share as long as they are from posh compliant closets & theme appropriate. A good mix of the items you mentioned will be ideal. Finding fabulous items is fun but narrowing them to 100 is the tricky part.

lynda721 @kcford24 Agreed. Also, I've had many previous hosts tell me that they don't share their own items; they have one of their co-hosts share yours, and you share yours. I really like that idea. @travelbugginger @chopjaz

lynda721 @ex_globetrotter I keep a calendar of who is hosting on what date. I just went through and forwarded this to those who identified themselves as being new to Hosting. Thanks again for the work you put in to put this together and for answering our questions! Karen and I will make sure to reward you! @kcford24

ex_globetrotter @lhaag721 I think the only time you can confer with your cohosts about the closets (w/o notifying the posher/closet & ruin the surprise) is when you posh party IRL (that happened a few times where the hosts are actually together in person). When I host, I monitor the HP showroom on my phone so I can see what items my cohosts are sharing. I've seen a few items already in the showroom that I intended to share so I went back in the Poshers closet to find another item to share & avoid duplications.

I am grateful to have her as a friend, mentor & also had the opportunity to co-host a virtual party together. I also get to hang with her at PoshFest & meet ups all over the country. lynda721 @ex_globetrotter Not this year. I'm an East Coast Gal. I actually am going to have to have surgery on my left knee in the near future. I was in a bad car accident last September. I broke both of my legs. I am blessed to be alive. But, they need to go back into my left leg to continue to fix it. Maybe next year!

Good information and, yes, I agree about shining the spotlight on others, on as many people as possible and on new closets. I'd rather not share my own or if we share each others, only one pick each so we won't end up hogging the showroom.

travelbugginger @lhaag721 @kcford24 I'd read in another post that the way to make sure you don't share the same item as your co-host does (and in our case, because we're friends and travel in the same circles it's more of an issue than it might be for some), is to just make sure that one of your co-hosts hasn't "liked" the item when saving it to your own "likes" to share. Don't know if you find that helpful, but sounds like a good idea.

ex_globetrotter @travelbugginger Afwan habibti! It is great to host with your friends & easier if you can chat in FB about your picks to avoid duplication of HPs. This will avoid the hassle of having to go back in the closet to look for a new item to share. When I host, I monitor the HP showroom on my phone & refresh it quite often so I see the items being shared in real time. I can't wait to hear about your theme. I'm sure it will be fun!!! 👍🏼💥🎉💗

And how can you tell if your co hosts already Shared/picked something that you've picked as a HP, during the party? Geez, I'm nervous! And super excited!l lol. Thanks. 😊

ex_globetrotter @twinkletoestoni Hi! Vetting closets is when you check if they're Poshmark compliant. That's the most time consuming thing with looking for host picks. You go through the closet & look at their listings & see if they follow all Poshmark rules. You can try to communicate with your cohosts in FB to see which closets you're getting picks from.

ex_globetrotter @acedirectsales Hi! Thanks so much for reaching and congratulations on your first party. It can be a little daunting but hosting is fun. I did this list years ago and hope it might still be useful. As for picking host picks, make sure you share from compliant closets e.g, no off app transactions, no nail polish/aerosols or other non USPS compliant items, no used underwear, etc. Luckily, Posh allowed more categories to be sold here. Please let me know if you have more questions.
