poshlove78 Just left Sunglass Hut and the employee/authentication expert says that this is the 1st pair of Raybans he has had the pleasure of holding that are this old & this rare. Was very excited about the age, rarity, and condition of these. He had only e ER seen one other pair before online. Said these could go for thousands. AHHH DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE?

poshlove78 @partymk999 the man at Sunglass Hut or whatever in the mall said That Bausch & Lomb lenses are not manufactured any longer. These were a limited release and for true collectors are priceless. I bought with the intention of wearing. They look silly because my cheeks are to 'baby like' lol. I'm going to put them on a bidding site. I love them but we have lost all income & my baby is ill. We are selling everything

poshlove78 @partymk999 thank you sweetheart! Unfortunately I was hacked & locked out of all sites for 250 days. That was a log time to go without Poshing :(. Hope things are well for you. I wasn't done sharing. My phone went dead. Update of daughter. Diagnosed with Gastropasis & is on a bland diet. She is still in pain multiple times a week as the meds do not help. At 7 years old she says her life sucks :(.

poshlove78 @lilyspring I'm in a forum now trying to get more information. They are authentic & older. Was a limited edition. Maybe I will try to find an appraiser in my area. They have the B&L lenses that they stopped manufacturing 20+ years ago. Are in original state. I do not know much about these other than the man with Ray Ban said they were worth a lot, unique, & vintage. Let me see what I can find out on this forum. I saw a white pair on a bidding site exactly like these that sold for $2950

poshlove78 @lilyspring man says he believes that they are New Zealand Tokeyo. I'm having them authenticated hun. Just need to drop them off. I would like more information on them as well. I know they made a handful of city logoes on this particular style. They are over 20yrs old. I just want to know how old. Will update as soon as I get them back with the information!

lilyspring I'm not sure what they mean when they mention other countries like New Zealand and S Africa. I thought Tokyo is only spelled one way. That's a good idea getting everything done at once.

poshlove78 @lilyspring I don't think it's Tokyo Japan. They made these for various locations. Some in states & some out of Country. I will tell you when I get the info hun. Its on my to do list! That forum is to confusing for me. You have to follow people in order for them to talk to you & view your posts. I don't have time for that with everything else

lilyspring @poshlove78 I've seen some on eBay and the net for cities like Chicago, Tokyo, Los Angeles. There is no way Bausch & Lomb Ray Ban came out with a limited edition for various cities and states around the world to include lesser known places with names like Tokoyo. I would be very surprised if that was the case. The places they chose for the sunglasses are probably the ones with a Hard Rock Cafe presence. Thanks for all the info. poshlove78 @lilyspring I did take them to the mall into Sunglass Hut & two of the employees confirmed that they have B&L lenses. The serial # maches that of authentic retired Ray-bans. They are not fake. Who would go through the effort of putting real lenses in fake frames? We will find out soon. Thank you for your input. Greatly appreciated

lilyspring Who would put real lenses in fakes? Good question, assuming the employees are correct. How did they determine that? Another question, would B&L Ray Ban really issue sunglasses with a misspelling? Maybe someone put in a fake ear stem when the original one broke in order to sell it.

lilyspring There's a black B&L Ray Ban Hard Rock Cafe Tokyo with the same B&L5022 code that sold on 7/5 for <$160 on eBay. It might be authentic, compare it with yours. That seller sells a lot of vintage. Is Wayfarer on the inside of the left ear stem? Where did you get the sunglasses anyway?

poshlove78 @lilyspring my father & his wife did a lot of traveling. They were his & he gave them to me in 2010. I do not look right in Wayfares. He liked rare & vintage things. Guess you could say he liked to spend money :). Like I said as soon as I get time I will drop them off & provide the details. They have already been taken to one place where I was told that they have the B&L lenses that are a rare find. I'd rather just take them to a professional that try to authenticate via ebay or online.

lilyspring You said earlier (way up in the comments) that you bought them yourself. When and where did your father get it? If he paid a good sum, does he have a receipt? I ask because you sound so sure of its authenticity. Is the word Wayfarer on the inside of the left earpiece? If the employees relied solely on the B&L 5022 code, keep in mind anyone could put that code on fakes.

lilyspring Even if someone buys it, it would have to be authenticated by Poshmark Concierge who will likely reject it due to the "Tokoyo" misspelling. I know it must be a tremendous shock to you but at least you didn't spend any money on it. Good luck in your search for a authenticator.

lilyspring If you are convinced its authenticity, try talking to www.vintagesunglassesshop.com. Ask them if they would be interested in purchasing your vintage sunglasses. According to them, 5022 sunglasses have the word Wayfarer on the inside of one of the ear stems. This may apply to limited editions of that style too. See what they have to say. They will likely ask for many pictures. You can even speak to them over the phone. This is another way to verify something as authentic or fake. Good luck.
