The LV pattern is usually even unless it's a vintage women's wallet then sometimes you will get cut off LV logos. The stitching will always be even. Make sure the date code year matches to the years the wallet was actually produced. Always count stitches. This is the easiest way to tell. Double check the heat stamps from my other guides. Date codes can be hard to find. These are all pics of authentic LV wallets. This is just a guide and isn't meant for anything more.

@kingjames2026 here is how the pattern should look. This is an authentic LV purchased from the Atlanta GA boutique.

Thank you!!! How can we tell that the date code year matches to the years the wallet was actually produced? Is there a guide for that somewhere?
Oct 23Reply

acquittdapparel
@lolamo7 you have to know the name of the wallet then check the years it was made by searching. And also see what countries made it and compare date codes.

thought I would share this with you. discovered a way to quickly determine if a closet is compliant. It takes us forever to go through all follows if you want to follow back. Go to their closet and then to the size selection across the top. put in a very unusual size that people are most likely not going to have. i use 3X. Everything you see after that is what they have in their closet. you might find a couple of three 3x. If

300 pieces of jewelry come back, it is very easy. Sometimes if there is a lot of make up and you want to Be really sure, you do have to read the descriptions. Otherwise much faster than looking through closets 300 to 1000 Items. for me this does not work for replicas because I'm not sure on them. Otherwise a quick fix for me.

would you do me a favor? i had to do a cut and paste to get all this information to your closet and used two comment areas. i can cut and paste my typing but I cannot once I put it into your closet. I wanted to share this with a couple of other people. Would you, if you can, Copy and paste both comment areas on my site underneath the sign where I have all the x's. I would like to shorten it to one comment area anyway. If you can't just let me know. I can retype. tks

@littlemisspawn I don't mind you sharing them, but I would prefer to keep the original content in my closet. I'm a professional authenticator for many designer brands. Thank you for the compliment. I try to help girls on here avoid the fakes, because they are everywhere.

@littlemisspawn You're very welcome! Just wondering what the pawn means in your user name if you don't mind me asking?

@littlemisspawn OMG Me too! Well used to be, I helped run my parents shops. My mom was one of the first women in the industry to own her own stores. (She had 2) and my father ran 3 more. We owned 6 at one time in the Atlanta area. They retired when I was much younger. I've been considering opening another after I graduate law school.

@littlemisspawn that's actually why I got into authenticating items. My parents now just sell on eBay for fun since they are bored when they retired. I sell on here. It's a similar feel but online versus face to face. Were are you located? There def. are not many women in the buisness. Like I said my mom was one of the firsts, she also used to be one of the main folks with the National Pawnbrokers Association. It's a fun buinsess to be in.

@littlemisspawn it's funny because my parents used to be the only ones in atlanta to loan on designer things, most didn't know how to authenticate or if they were worth anything or want to fool with them. It was the traditional tool and guns kinda thing.

Thank you, I have a massive LV collection. Inherited and purchased. Some gifted. I am unable to sell, but it makes me sad to see everyone getting scammed by sellers. Most importantly, if you plan on making ANY huge purchase- please research!

@luckyallure good thing about posh over $500 they authenticate for you prior to you receiving. It first goes to their headquarters for authentication. I authenticate my own but I always suggest people get theirs authenticated through an authenticator after receiving before the 3 days is up if they buy on here.
Mar 01Reply

luckyallure
I didn't know that! That's good to know. I have enough for now, so no purchases. I do have a planner I am thinking of selling... just not sure for how much.

I love this. I have a "How to authenticate a Louis Vuitton initial belt" listing in my closet. I'm so sick of seeing people selling initial belts that are fake as real. You might also want to add here that the date code will always start with the letters first and then followed by the numbers going down into the crease. I have seen some knockoffs where its numbers first followed by the letters. Looks like a legit date code, but it's all about the way they are facing. Excellent post!
Mar 07Reply

acquittdapparel
@hismrs I actually have multiple listings each with specific topics. Date codes. Heat stamps. Stitching.

@jcradd thank you for this post, great info. I am wondering the name of the second wallet you have listed in the post? Also, do you authenticate Gucci? Any help appreciated, Thanks.

Hi! Great post I just want to clarify so stitching that is not in a straight line is not something you would see LV allow? Thanks for this.
Jun 11Reply

acquittdapparel
@courtships not usually. It should be symmetric and even.

@jcradd that helps thank you!

I have been trying to buy a LV wallet for my son but it is so hard, too many replicas :( I'm better at authenticating bags. It just seems to good to be true when they can get you any pattern under 180 :(
Jul 04Reply

acquittdapparel
@ari910 it's true. Lol. We ended up buying my fiances wallet the one in the first picture new at LV because it was worth it to save the headache. If you don't want to spend the full amount maybe get him to save up half. My fiancé had always wanted one but wouldn't spoil himself the way I spoil myself because he had rather spend his money on me so I split the cost with him.
Jul 04Reply

blessed910
It's funny because I don't really think he cares to have one lol I think I want it more for him than he does lol. His bday is coming up in a couple weeks so I might just get it for him. Have you seen the movie pulp fiction? He told me he would rather have the one that Samuel L. Jackson has in the movie pulp fiction 😂 MEN !
Jul 04Reply

acquittdapparel
@ari910 atleast he's not addicted like my fiancé lol I got him addicted to designer clothes and accessories. His Jean collection rivals mine.

Hello there! I came across one of your fake vs real Louis Vuitton listings, but wanted to see the one about heat stamps (& whatever other ones you have) and can't find it in all your listings. Is there a way to include a link to all your tutorials here? I'm not very good at navigating through Posh yet, but your guides are literally so helpful and I really want to check them all out! Thanks! :)

Hey could I possibly send you some pictures of a LV wallet I want to get my gf, but I think the guy is trying to scam me and many others. If not totally understand t is a hassle but if you have the time it would make the purchase much smoother

Are you really selling this for 1300?
Jul 12Reply

acquittdapparel
@fashiontings this is an authenticiation guide..... many fakes are sold on posh.... i posted this to try to help girls keep from getting ripped off..... Please read the title and description....
Jul 12Reply

fashiontings
@jcradd oh got it. But I thought that usually designer items are sent to the poshmark headquarters to make sure they're real before they go ahead and purchase
Jul 12Reply

acquittdapparel
@fashiontings Only if they are $500 or more. And many small accessories fall under that threshold.
