@katethegreat92 they had the inside label with the brand name / dress size but the care label doesn't have fl&l logo
I've seen a knock off on here with the black removable tag incorrectly attached , they had a black satin string and tied it to the inside label , that's not how it's connected the removable tag is either connected to the dress by a safety pin but newer dresses have this special connector that can't be reattached once cut off

@misfitkitten sad thing is price wasn't too good to be true. Paid $180 on Posh and I could've (and would've) paid around $200-200 for a real one on here eventually. I'm emailing Posh demanding a refund. My 30 days aren't up and they are supposed to protect us from this kind of deception... I'm so disappointed. Thank you for warning others about this, so they don't get duped like I did 😕

I seriously hope Posh starts doing something about this. I'm so tired of seeing all these "dupes" being sold for 10xs the price these sellers bought on websites like aliexpress. Same goes for all the Avalon bodysuit knockoffs. I cannot believe how many poshers support designer knockoffs and how many sellers are profiting from intellectual theft.

@misfitkitten UPDATE!!! Posh refunded me in full! It took a butt load of effort, organizing information from the sale and correspondence afterwards and a couple weeks of discussing the issue before they offered to examine the item personally. But they were so quick to accept my claim once I sent it in!! So happy and such a good precedent set by Poshmark! SCAMMING DOESN'T PAY!!

I'm sure someone on here or a website will discount it for cyber Monday or something. I learned my lesson after buying 2 of their dresses during the 30% off & then they had them on sale for like $60 for their last sale. That really pissed me off haha

This happened to me too. I bought around $700 worth of FL&L off of e bay from a seller named wan_marin. At first I thought the Geneva dresses were just ill fitting. I got another orchid dress and realized it was fake. I opened a case with 🅿️🅿️and e bay and got all my money back. Unfortunately I had to spend $40 to send it back to Canada 😡thanks for warning people. FL&L is made in China and its likely people are using the same fabric and just replicating the design (poorly).

I've actually seen some of that person's fake FL&L on eBay and thought that cheap? How? But only bc bought a Spell knockoff earlier this year. Same happened to a few gals and we were able to return. That seller was really sweet. I don't think she realized whoever was selling to her were selling her fakes!

@boheme_darling the seller was very nice too. They responded and said they get the dresses from many different wholesale/distributors (red flag) and had no idea they were fake. The seller only offered to accept one return (not acceptable) so I had to open up cases for each transaction. Siiiiiigh. I was so stoked I was going to own the whole new collection for $700 hahahah 😂 Oh well, I did use the $100 off FL&L coupons to get two Sienna kimonos and a Dusty Rose Maxi with a coupon from Revolve 👍

@sandiegolady @boheme_darling holy moly $700 😫 I'm glad you were able to get your money back at least. my advice for eBay is to check the seller's completed / sold listings (the hidden cause they're in the past) if they have more than one of the same item in different sizes you should raise an eyebrow, these brands don't do wholesale for eBay accounts. what I've gathered is that a lot of these sellers are selling extras being made by the manufacturer with the left over fabric.

@tayc0x definitively the Barcelona print dresses, the geneva dress, Sicily , Sahara mini, ole skirt/ top, birds of paradise & orchid (the last three not as much since the new collections dropped)
my advice is to look at the sellers other items for sale (on eBay also check their sold items) if
there's more than one size of an item that should be a red flag

A previous seller of mine contacted me... accusing me of talking bad about her .. because of what I wrote up there on your listing. So I think I ran into a fake one 😣. All of my other fl&l real ones I have noticed have more of a stiff but soft to the touch brand tag. You guys are correct when you say the care label has antlers on it. Also, I have a sample sale original where the logo label looks like it's cut a little crooked at the top, and it has a "care label" with no antlers. I know it's an original for a fact, just was a sample. The fake one has a stiff brand tag and no care label.

@toohaute2handle it's honestly hard to say now that I've made these posts warning buyers. there's some sellers that still sell the manufacturer's extras without care label, but now there are some that do because of my posts. my advice is to avoid eBay/ pushers that are selling multiple FL&L pieces in different sizes. this brand only does wholesale to legitimate companies not eBay/ posh sellers @bassbunny 😓 hopefully you can return it?

I let another girl know who had bought the same dress from her (she sold 3 of the same in xs/s) that it was possibly fake and this girl let me know that she had returned it to the seller because it was fake. I just purchased a dress straight from FLL during their sale and noticed that the actual silk dress did not have a content label. The content label for the dress + nude slip is both on the slip's content label stating that the the "self is 100% silk + lining is 100% polyester." Not sure if this is what they will be doing with two pieces from now on but just something I noticed with a piece I purchased from their holiday collection.

Only thing is that the print doesn't seem to be centered and in the right place. And the fact that they are selling by the bulk load!

So I've been comparing a lot of these since I've noticed so many selling for cheap on eBay that look good and have the love and lemons logo on the tag but seemed sketchy and I realized that none of the care labels on those ones match the actual content of the dress!!

the care label should say 50% polyester, 50% rayon;
Lining: 90% polyester, 10% spandex. as stated on the zappos site and as I've seen before, but a lot of them - in the gold or cream color are being sold for cheap and have the wrong content label stitched in-if it says 40% on it its likely fake. So weird because they all pretty much look the same but I'm guessing quality and fit is off too.

my advice for buying on any app is to check what other items they're selling if they sell the same item in multiple sizes , I wouldn't buy (on eBay check their sold listings too)

mention that the care label is not present, if you're able to compare to one in store and the pattern/ quality is mismatched (with photos too)

Can you give me a couple of measurements on this? In particular the section of cream lace(?) from the shoulder to the bust line in the V area? and the section of the cream lace(?) from the center of the under bust to the bottom of the dress? @kennedymoreno there will be slight variations like the top of the dress above that wide trim that goes along the whole dress horizontally should be almost identicall front and back
but I've noticed the bottom half where it flows out there's been some small variations

Hey, I purchased an orchid dress, the stitching looks impeccable, no loose threads or flaws. Form fitting but comfortable. It doesn't have tags, I was told that it was a sample/prototype. The orchids feel soft and are stitched well. But the slip included doesn't have the underwire stitched design, it's plain. The slip is made from a high quality stretchy silky material and is the same cut, but it's making me question if it's authentic. No other FL&L listings but good reviews. Whats your opinion?

When I questioned if it was from the sample sale, she said that her friend actually works at FL&L and that she had gotten it directly from the company as a prototype. I actually purchased it from dep0p but I can take pictures of it and list it, I'll tag you in them. I would appreciate it greatly! @cursed - someone might have returned a fake to nordstrom and thats how you got it...otherwise no idea. It is definitely fake, there's a little group of girls who have been putting up tons of sierras mini and maxi, and trying to hide with filters how the black tag is not correctly attached as it should be, that's the main indicator.

hi! do you own the juliet mini? i bought one on sale at Nieman Marcus but it was missing a hang tag so now I'm freaked out. The care tag is diff from the barcelona mini (which it very well might be since they are different collections) but it made me wonder. Tagging @blueberrie as well just in case you might have one too! @pbandjan I'm so sorry I don't, I have found the care label to be pretty consistent ever since they started putting the antlers on it in like 2013
as you said it's completely possible it's changed, but I wouldn't know I haven't purchased anything from spring or summer 2016 yet 😓

@argugu2002 you can read all the comments above in this listing :) I actually bought one from someone on here before I got mine from Free People and it ended up being fake. The quality is different in person, care tags weren't the same, and fit was not as flattering.

It's the only FL&L item I have that I did not purchase myself from FL&L directly. When I compare the logo tags, the font on the flower bomb maxi looks thinner and more scraggly. It also doesn't have a care tag...any opinion on this one ladies? I don't know when the flower bomb series came out, so I'm not sure if this could be an earlier tag/design?? @pbandjan @misfitkitten

@kimberkw I haven't really seen flower bomb maxis replicas floating around, but I have for the mini dress version. The problem with most of the sheer dresses (orchid, elenora, flower bomb are a few) anything that comes with a separate slip dress, I've noticed don't have the care label on the main piece. I wish I could be more help with authenticating it. I haven't had the opportunity to get that one yet it sold out and sellers demand too much 😓

@kimberkw @kimberkw i agree with the placement of the care label on the pieces with bodysuits sewn in. It's tricky. I don't own the maxi but I have the Mini in both colors and the size label is below the regular fl&l tag. I believe I saw that yours is next to the label? I'm not totally sure and I don't want to say I know it's a dupe though. Was it a trusted seller on posh? Sorry 😐

I purchased the garden isle dress in red of eBay, it was the sellers only FLL item I think. The dress came today and there was no size tag saying "s" next to the FLL name label.. also there was no white care label at all. Could this be fake?? Is it true their samples/extras may not have these? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!

@carolluo I looked into your eBay purchase via recently sold listings. I don't believe the item is fake. There are samples circulating that can have the size tag missing or care label missing, rare but it happens.
I've noticed for dresses that are mostly lace or mesh (orchid, elanora, Juliet maxi, lotus etc) that come with a slip or bodysuit insert like your dress the care label is missing from the outer most layer

@carolluo Juliet Maxi, for example, has a bodysuit so the care label is located on the bodysuit not the silk burnout
It's possible she may have removed it because it was bugging her
The same goes for size tag or because it's a sample
I also I think it's authentic b/f she does carry more fll but they're not all of the same item, if a seller sells bulk of the same item that's a red flag.
Plus her fll go back to their 2012 collections & the fake fll started circulating about 2015

She said she bought the dress from a consignment store in LA, but considering that the FLL factory is in LA, it wouldn't be impossible that a sample would end up there. Only other thing though is that the original dress came with extra straps but this dress doesn't even have the hooks for the dress sewn onto it

@misfitkitten do you know if they always use the black cords on new items? I bought the gold Barcelona set, there's no question that it's authentic… The tags are real. It matches my other Barcelona set exactly, except for the tag attachment. It's just a plain plastic tag attachment instead of the long black cord with the square antler section in the middle of the string.

It's terrible because people buy fakes online and will buy authentic from reputable retailers , i.e. Nordstrom, and return the fake to Nordstrom
So it's sketchy to buy them anywhere
This doesn't happen a lot but I've seen it a few time

@jessa1155 those are the labels for for love & lemons (oldest right to newest on the left)
the oldest were attached with black safety pins usually on the left side of the garment under the arm
If the tags don't look any of the above (as you said a plastic replacing the black cord) I would be alarmed

I was shocked but I sent photos to For Love and Lemons and they say 100% authentic. The seller had 3 other similar tag examples too. But the black cords are prettier! She even sent me the receipt. N. Marcus maybe? Don't recall.

@boyersjo the self doesn’t have spandex so i wouldn’t worry about stretching but it is net fabric so it’ll be crinkled / not lay flat if untied 😶

Hey girls I need your help, I bought the FLL Amelia midi dress on poshmark and it came without a brand label or a care label, zero labels anywhere on the dress no indication of size other than what the seller said was the size. The inside slip was not the usual silky material and the perfect stitching. It was a flimsy material and the seams were very poor with loose threads.

I would just bring the condition / question of authenticity up to posh in the return request
I was able to return one
Just do a side by side shot with another FLL piece showing what tags look like/ should be placed

@misfitkitten yes I did that, poshmark let me return it thank goodness! I own the off shoulder Amelia and even the color of the embroidery was not the same. It was a very good copy but I could tell something was off by the fit and how stiff the fabric was!
