Water won't hurt it all at but harsh chemicals can dull the stones but this one is definitely my favorite and one of my all time best sellers. I've sold over 75 sets of these and every one has gotten a 5 star rating....the other one is beautiful as well but if it were me I would go this one for sure. Hope this helps
