I'm seeing TOO many sellers on here with listings for "authentic" Ray-bans that are actually dupes. Please share this, and add any other suggestions. *CONTINUED IN COMMENTS* The biggest tell-tale sign is the ROUND WHITE & RED PLASTIC TAG. Authentic ray ban aviators do NOT have a plastic tag attached to them (pics 1&3) Next is the stitching on the case- there should be stitching on the flap and the sides of the case ONLY. The last picture is of my authentic glasses and their case for reference.

kristengodsey1 (Continued...) Most dupes have stitching all across the top of the case, where mine doesn't have any. Lastly, the "RB" etching is almost invisible on authentic glasses and to see it, you really have to look for it. Fakes have etching that is blatantly obvious because the makers know people will be looking for it while trying to determine authenticity. First three pictures are NOT MY OWN and all credit goes to original owners.

kristengodsey1 @brouppasong @jcampbellsoupy Just wanted to let you guys know that the aviators in the listing you commented on are not authentic Ray-Bans! Please be careful, there are VERY good dupes out there

trendypins @kristengodsey1 I was a victim here on PM. I don't care what others sell, but I do care about dishonesty. I asked the seller if the Ray Ban I was buying was authentic and she confirmed it was. I got a really good copy, but I know enough to spot a fake. She immediately blocked me on her page. What a shame! Never again!

kristengodsey1 @trendypins I'm sorry that happened to you! I hate seeing people sell fakes and claim that they're real. I hope this post helps prevent other people from becoming victims as well

trendypins @kristengodsey1 it does, but it's hard when you are just looking at photographs. I just can't stand sellers who deceives their customers. Thanks for this post!

classycloset559 Thanks for the info. Super nervous about making a purchase on any sunnies for these reasons since I'm not able to tell the difference. Handbags different story. Shocked how many fake Louis Vuitton, saddens me. Thanks, again!

kristengodsey1 Also to add: if you order ray-bans from this site and question even for a second that they're authentic, scrape your finger across the logo on the lenses. If the white "Ray-Ban" letter flakes off, they're fake and you should demand a refund ASAP. :)

mykelmcd Do you know if the user “supersave” sells fake or real Ray Bans?

kristengodsey1 @mykelmcd my guess is that they’re fake. The etched “RB” logo on the left lenses (right in the photos) are way too pronounced. In authentic glasses you can usually only see the RB at a certain angle or when you look closely!

mykelmcd @kristengodsey1 you’re right-that’s another reason I was skeptical. Oh well. I still like the glasses, but at least I know they’re fake! Thanks girl. I know not to buy from here now 🤦‍♀️

kristengodsey1 @apoer20 hey! I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. :( I think you have 2 options - first is you may be able to contact poshmark and let them know that the seller is scamming people. Even if they can’t help you, they may be able to help get the account closed down so other people don’t fall victim to it as well.

kristengodsey1 @apoer20 The other thing you could try is to contact your bank and dispute the payment with them. Explain that you were sold counterfeit goods that were marketed as authentic but by the time you realized, there was nothing you could do. What these people are doing is fraudulent and should be brought to attention. Best of luck!!

kristengodsey1 @apoer20 if your bank needs proof that they’re fake you could probably take them to a Sunglass Hut or other Ray-Ban retailer and ask them to verify
