Nov 22Reply

pawsitivelyposh@triciatx not to be rude or anything, but are you implying my items are fake? You sorta just tagged me here and Im not sure why.. esp bc I buy all of my items from Sephora, MAC, ULTA, macys, saks, neiman marcus etc so they are definitely authentic.

triciatx@bugsey2 Feel free to share this. I am appalled at the amount of counterfeit makeup I am seeing on here. Even worse is the fact that people are KNOWINGLY buying and applying this poison to their skin. 😵

Jul 23Reply

bugsey2@triciatx how about all the used makeup?? It's sickeninh‼️

Jul 23Reply

triciatx@bugsey2 I have scientific data downloaded to make a listing for that too. It shows the viruses in used makeup. It is really gross! I will tag you when I get it posted.

Jul 23Reply

ninjastankOmg dang! Im gonna let my friends who are into makeuo know about this!

Jul 31Reply

triciatx@ninjastank I have pictures of the actual operations, but they were too nasty to share on here I think. 😞

Jul 31Reply

ninjastank@triciatx people are so ruthless when it comes to making a buck! 😵😠

Jul 31Reply

triciatx@ninjastank Yeah, it makes me sick that people knowingly sell toxins. It's one thing to sell fake purses, but actual topical substances is demented. I actually suffer from Perioral Dermatitis from legal ingredients like sulfates, paraben, fluoride. I can't use products with those ingredients. It is a lifelong autoimmune condition that sucks to deal with. These chemicals in the fake cosmetics can disfigure and/or even kill people. I try to help educate. Hopefully I help someone on here. 💜

Jul 31Reply

ninjastank@92alana not sure if u are aware, but u should look into this... its real! 😬 be careful!!

Jul 31Reply

ninjastankIm gonna report all of those people! I also emailed them 92alana's listing asking to remove my comments and look into the fact that she is selling replica make-up (which is against poshmark rules)

Jul 31Reply

triciatx@ninjastank I report through the button, but nothing happens. I don't have time to e-mail about each one. There are literally millions. Makes me sick. And the people selling samples out of their pigments!?! Why would anyone buy unlabeled "samples" you can get at a MAC PRO store! They have no clue what they are getting. Even if it is authentic, it is likely contaminated. Who knows what they are using to transfer, if the containers are sanitized, or how old the product is. 😷

shannon31bellGlad i saw this. Your closet has been very informative..not many post info on this danger or how to correctly size clothing..nice clothes as well😆

Aug 12Reply

triciatx@shannon31bell Awww....thanks:) I buy as much as I sell. Buying should be easy without having to ask a million questions and wait for answers. In my closet if you filter categories to "other" the listings with the help desk icon will pop up. They are all of my listings with tips and tricks to help other buyers and sellers;)

Aug 12Reply

triciatx@shannon31bell This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. The majority of people seeing fake makeup know it is fake and dangerous. It is so unethical to knowingly expose someone to toxins. They are essentially poisoning people. It is a serious crime. =0(

Aug 12Reply

shannon31bell@triciatx i do agree with you and surprised that "posh" doesnt pull these violations from the site...fake items are hard to spot and makeup is not something i know enough of to spot a fake. I love high end makeup so i appreciate the info about MAC. I look forward to reading more..your closet is beautiful..i think im gonna purchase some items😄

ninas_closet11Thank you for sharing! Unfortunately a lot of people do sell replicas....... Some unknowingly, but either way they are VERY harmful, so it's important to be certain you aren't endangering someone's health by selling these horrible products.

Sep 17Reply

pigmentsHi. Very informative. I use to buy MAC pigments off of eBay and when I sold one that I ended up not liking, someone told me it was fake so I googled fake vs authentic MAC pigments. Now I know. Well do you know how to spot fake Kylie Birthday lip kit? There are soooo many selling it up here and I don't want to buy fake to have my daughter put it on her lips. Let us know if you know. Take care and God Bless!

Oct 01Reply

pigmentsOh yeah, how about fake MAC brushes?

Oct 01Reply

triciatx@pigments I am not sure about other products besides pigments. I was fooled once long ago on eBay. Make sure the person has plenty of love notes. If a seller has a ton of sales, but zero of few love notes then that is a HUGE RED FLAG. I hope that helps. Counterfeits are dangerous. It makes me sick. Reviews are pretty reliable if you can find info. by googling. Best~ Tricia 💋💋💋💋

Oct 01Reply

bugsey2I think it's beyond despicable that there are Poshers selling a leading Brand like Mac on this website amongst others or Poshers selling Mac for Prices that don't even exist at Mac! They must think the majority of viewers lack any intellect at all! It's full of rat poison so cut it out!. I'm sharing this since it never stops!

Oct 16Reply

dahliarThank you

Nov 02Reply

triciatx@dahliar ;) I learned the hard way, so I wanted to help others. I can't believe how many counterfeit items their are. It's crazy. Have a great day! Best~ Tricia

Nov 02Reply

dahliarI'm always afraid of that and probably have probably done so unknowingly.

Nov 02Reply

triciatx@dahliar I can't believe people buy "samples". They have no clue what they are really getting in plain unmarked bottles. I have done a bunch of research on this. It is terrifying what people use to make imitation legitimate makeup. Not only that, but contamination alone from unsanitary handling of makeup can breed viruses that can be deadly. I developed a sling condition from FDA approved items. I can't use products with sodium laurel sulfate, triclosan, corticosteroids, fluoride, etc.

Nov 02Reply

triciatx@dahliar Another thing to ask when buying online is when the item was purchased. I bought a Dermalogica eye cream on here. I was promised it was BRAND NEW. I got it, used it, and got a horrible eye infection. I called Dermalogica and the manufacture date was 3 years prior! There are a few good sites to use.... checkcosmetic(dot)net & checkfresh(dot)com =0)

Dec 08Reply

triciatx@trisharadell I bought 20 off eBay a long time ago. I got a refund from eBay, and the seller told me to keep them. I can't believe people buy "samples" of pigments on here. Who knows what is in those "samples". It makes me so mad. 😫

Dec 09Reply

kontogonisThanks for posting this. I don't think many girls/women realize truly how dangerous counterfeit products CAN be. It's a scary thing.

Jan 06Reply

triciatx@greenbamboo ♥️

Feb 07Reply

triciatx@kontogonis ♥️

Feb 07Reply

greenbamboo@kontogonis I agree. And I strongly dislike those dishonest sellers, who sell fake products...

Feb 07Reply

triciatx@greenbamboo I can't believe people buy "samples" from pigment jars. Who knows what they are actually getting and how contaminated it is! I see people buy used makeup just to resell it. Who knows how many people have touched it. ⚠️☢️⚠️

Feb 07Reply

greenbamboo@triciatx I know...so unethical 👎🏾and so low ...

Feb 07Reply

greenbambooDo you know how to distinguish between fake MAC lipsticks and real ones? and also fake Chanel lipsticks

Feb 09Reply

triciatx@greenbamboo I am not great at that. There are some that are on here though. Type in "fake MAC lipstick" and you should find find a few listings similar to this one. I know there are a ton of fake MAC lipsticks on here though. Especially from the Mariah Carey and Trolls collections. 💋

Feb 09Reply

greenbamboo@triciatx yeah!! and it bugs me that the sellers aren't honest about it, they said it s authentic!

Feb 09Reply

zom_b@triciatx I was going to bring up fake brushes until I saw that @pigments already brought it to light ☺ I was sold a very, very EXPENSIVE MAC brush, when I got it the thing smelled of gasoline and car oil. Not something I'd like to spread all over my face. Thank you for watching over the rest of us!!!💕 Like our Poshmark Batman😁!! But seriously, thanks!

Feb 15Reply

triciatx@zom_b Of course;) It is very scary. Unless the person works for the manufacturer it is best to buy at a store. Many people do not even know that they are selling fake product. That is why there are authorized resellers for manufacturers. Poshmark is definitely NOT one for ANY prestige health, wellness, and/or beauty brand.

Feb 15Reply

triciatx@zom_b Another thing when purchasing online.... Everyone says the item is new & sealed. New & Sealed is NOT the same as freshly manufactured & packaged. Ingredients become inactive and irritating even in seemingly new condition. I will make a post about this. EVERY skincare, cosmetic brand has a manufacture date. There are 2 websites you can check the codes on or call the manufacturer and give them the batch code.

Feb 15Reply

triciatx@pattyms33 I tried to comment back, but couldn't. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a hater. It actually popped up in my feed. I only said something bc your other MAC items look authentic. I would hate for you to use it if you have any others like that. Here is a helpful post I made;)

Apr 07Reply

pattyms33I'm happy you posted this, I would've never known. I was given this one for xmas in a bundle. Wowww. It's going in the trash. Thanks again trish.

Apr 07Reply

pattyms33@triciatx Everything else I've purchase at the store or online. I feel very confident about this. Thanks again.

Apr 07Reply

triciatx@pattyms33 I purchased 15 on eBay a long time ago before I knew better. I knew something wasn't right. That is when I starting learning more about the packaging. I wouldn't have said anything if I thought you knew. So many people don't know. Hopefully this helps some people. It's just not worth putting who knows what on your face & eyes. Best ❤️❤️ Tricia

Apr 07Reply

pattyms33@triciatx I agree with you. I'm happy I have the boxes and some bags from when I purchased my stuff. But I didn't know anything about these fakes, I'm disappointed that my good friend gave this to me. I text her already. It went to the trash.

Apr 07Reply

christinegkelly@triciatx Thank you SO much for the website and for this post in general. What we put on our skin gets absorbed into our bloodstream but so often we forget to weigh our decisions about makeup and skincare like we do w/food to to avoid getting sick.

Apr 12Reply

jharding111@triciatx that is sick. I cannot believe makeup is being targeted. This world is nuts sometimes. Thank you Posh friend for the info. I never would have thought to worry. 👍🏻

Apr 20Reply

jharding111@triciatx twice now I have bought beautiful items to receive what looks like Halloween costumes for kids or dog toys to where I'm like I didn't order this then make the connection. I have gone to the trouble of sending pics to Posh w report, but no money received back, in fact no word ever received. Is there just too many to address? I thought I'd get a refund for sure but nope. So buyer beware I guess?

May 03Reply

nathyvs@triciatx thanks for the information!! You should post about ABH

May 06Reply

triciatx@thebrownlees As soon as you get that pigment - do not accept. Report it as counterfeit to Poshmark. They will refund you and give you a return shipping label. Do not apply that to your skin. It is not safe:(. You will be able to tell immediately that it is not authentic by the smell & consistency as well as the packaging.

May 18Reply

thebrownlees@triciatx thank you so much for stepping in and letting me know about this. I contacted the seller and poshmark. The seller said she bought it from a wholesale distributor. I have diabetes and macular degeneration so I'm very sensitive to eye make up. You have no idea how thankful I am that you said something your awesome.

May 18Reply

triciatx@thebrownlees I have a skin condition from using FDA approved ingredients vin skincare. I can only imagine what is in these. These fake pigments have ingredients that can cause disease and permanent disfigurement. I was once tricked and bought a bunch of these. I learned and feel it is important to warn others. ❤️ Best ~ Tricia

May 18Reply

jwright6@triciatx ya thanks for letting me know. I'm getting rid of them because I have switch to a nontoxic lifestyle and I use dōTERRA. I wouldn't have ever put them on if I knew they were fake .

crystallong00This is exactly why I stopped buying makeup from anyone other than for example the official Kylie cosmetics site,etc... I got a dupe from eBay awhile back and it was really upsetting. katiesnappyThank you so much for this! I am always looking for good deals on makeup and unfortunately there can be a lot of dishonest sellers to look out for!

Jul 17Reply

triciatx@katiesnappy If you are new to using any high end makeup brands you should go into Neiman Marcus, Sephora, or a MAC Pro stand alone store. They will do your makeup for free and give you samples. I only buy makeup on here from makeup artists because I know they get it directly from the manufacturer. A ton of people on here buy makeup cheap to sell. They are sold counterfeit makeup and are told it is authentic, then sell it as such.

Jul 17Reply

triciatx@katiesnappy That is why brands have "authorized" sellers/stores where you can buy their product with confidence. There are so many counterfeits and they look authentic. When it comes to applying something to your skin you can never be too safe. Check out my post on expiration/manufacture dates too. 💋

Jul 17Reply

katiesnappy@triciatx I pretty much exclusively shop for my makeup/skincare at Sephora (I was just there over the weekend, actually!) for exactly the reasons you described. I have hyper-sensitive skin so finding *any* product that won't cause me to have an allergic reaction is a huge task, let potentially used/old/counterfeit makeup. The only makeup product I have bought on Posh was a new eyeshadow brush sealed in the package with a copy of the receipt.

Jul 17Reply

triciatx@crystallong00 I just saw this. Years & years ago about 10 pigments on eBay and they were obviously fake. Luckily, I could tell by the smell, consistency, and packaging. The seller said she was unaware they were fake. That is the problem. Too many people are buying cheap stuff to resell and really have no clue where it is manufactured. I got a full refund from eBay. Now most brands have a place on their website where you can let them know about counterfeits of their brand which is nice. 💋

Jul 17Reply

triciatx@katiesnappy I spend too much money at Sephora:) I developed a skin condition Perioral Dermatitis from irritants in FDA approved products:/ I have to be extremely careful to not have a flare up. I use & love Burt's Bees acne cleansing gel. I don't have acne, but this cleanser is natural & has just enough salicylic acid to gently exfoliate without irritation. I use a homemade toner (1/2 bottle spring water + a few drops of tea tree oil). It is anti-bacterial, 100% natural, and cheap;)

Jul 17Reply

triciatx@missktmoe Did you see this one? I am a firm believer in reporting replicas to the FBI. Whether it be cosmetics, purses, clothing, pharma, etc. The chemicals & contaminants used in these illegal factories are toxic. Not too mention the copyright/trademark laws being violated and devaluing brands. Haha...I knew you would like these;) Thanks for sharing Beautiful! 💋💋💋

Sep 03Reply

sicnic9Awesome post. Thank you for this. I always wondered how to spot counterfeit cosmetics.

Sep 11Reply

triciatx@sicnic9 My other post has websites where you can enter the SKU. It will tell you the production date, etc. So many people sell items as brand new, never used when in reality they are 10 years old:(

Sep 11Reply

triciatx@deedee_barr ❤️

Sep 11Reply

triciatx@sicnic9 There are so many counterfeits on here. The sellers themselves don't even know what they are selling:( If you purchase makeup on here, then always ask these questions.. - Where was this purchased from? - When did you purchase this? - Is this guaranteed authentic? If the person is vague, and says they have a "supplier", then do NOT buy. Those people are buying from overseas websites producing counterfeits. Reputable brands have a specific list of authorized resellers.

Sep 11Reply

sicnic9@triciatx got it! Thank you, now I know and can protect myself and maybe help someone else who doesn't know.

Sep 12Reply

triciatx@keri_fu015 No problem. I will look;) 😘

Oct 04Reply

triciatx@keri_fu015 Some are real and some are fake:( One off and frozen are definitely fake. Never buy any "samples". You can get those free from any MAC Pro store. I personally would never purchase from anyone selling fakes bc I wouldn't risk my skin. I know other MAC artists on here. Which color did you want and I can refer you to another closet. Best~ Tricia 💋

Oct 04Reply

shoppinhappyI think it's wonderful you shared this! I do not wear makeup often not do I know how to spot a fake so this was very informative for the few times I do purchase. When I do put makeup on my skin (the largest organ) I want it to be of good quality not toxic. Thank you thank You!
