This is a beautiful bright scarlet red dress, EUC. Originally bought new in a boutique. No tag, it was removed by the tailor (I had the neckline redone). This spans from "retro Free People" vibe to a more timeless look. 100% rayon. Bias-cut and hangs well, feels lovely. You want to know the secret? This dress feels slinky and like pajamas, slides flatteringly around curves if you've got 'em, but length and classed-up vibe you can wear it to meet your SO's parents or to a work function. Golden!

Measurements: About 55" long, 18" from pit to pit laid flat. No size tag (see description), it was marked "M". It's very forgiving, it would definitely fit a 6-8 and I'd venture it would range larger or smaller than that. It's opaque, but not lined; feels slinky on and also very easy to hem, etc. if you're shorter. I'm 5'5" and it's a perfect ankle length on me.

One more note: those are seven lovely fabric-covered buttons on the front, and there are loops for them; so looks expensive. However, they don't operate, you pull this bias-cut dress on like a nightgown. This is especially desirable if you're kind of busty, since the buttons are a great looking detail but theres no pulling/straining/coming open that can happen.

LOVE this fabulous dress!😍

@withappens thanks! Me too! It's hard to overstate how amazing the bias cut feature is. It's so curvy and smooth. I wrestled with myself over giving this one up...after I had the neckline redone, I wore it to a swanky bar and my (handsome, male) friend's jaw dropped. He said "that dress is....perfect." It's hard to beat that remark!

Hi Heather, is this dress true vintage, or modern?
philosophette
Hi @lisalin16! I bought it at a boutique in the mid 1990s. It was a prized favorite, which I wore to several friends' weddings. A few years ago, I had it altered at my top-notch tailor, because it had a collar which made it look dated. It did a whole second rotation! It's such a gorgeous piece, but I'm resisting the temptation to sit around admiring it and reclaiming beautiful memories.

Hi Heather, thank you for your response! I'll sit on it for a while. It does look very slinky on you ;)

Trade?
philosophette
@coltoninengland I've done one trade so far (successfully!). I'd trade for your FP "Diamonds in the Rough" dress. However, the prices we have set for each aren't too close. Is there something else from my closet you might also want?
philosophette
@coltoninengland this is a low sale price for this gorgeous red dress - I'm going to raise it back up, or most likely remove it and repost it a bit higher. The bias cut and quality are too good to let go of otherwise. I mention this only in light of the difference in the listed prices I discussed above. No matter what - thank you for your interest!

@illusivebynatur hi there. The price is firm on this one item. I'm still planning to re-list it for a higher price or keep it. It's a beautiful, slightly re-worked vintage '90s piece. I'm open to offers on other items in my closet though. ☺️
