stylechasers @alexrica Hi Alexandria. Either will work well as they is only 1 inch difference in the two. If you are closer to size 12, I would suggest L. If closer to 14, size XL. It is nice and stretchy, and only an inch difference between L and XL, so I believe either will work well. Yes, I agree that L will work well for the basic black dress for underneath.
