It is tough to say which size equivalent would be closest. Just in using a size chart that I found online, the waist measurement of 30 inches is close to a size 10. The waist does have elastic, so the size may be "flexible" but I would use the 30 inch waist as the best way to ensure a good fit. Number sizes are not standardized (unfortunately) but actual measurements are :)
We LOVE these pants BTW! The pattern is beautiful and they are comfortable!
