Is there a HUG (Humane Urban Group) branch in your area? They do free/cheap spaying and neutering. That's who helps me take care all of my strays/ferals. If not HUG, I'm sure that there's a group near you that will help support your work! God bless!❤️❤️❤️Amanda

They even come pick up and drop off the animals for people who don't have a car or can't drive. Most areas have some sort of place like this or HUG as she was saying. Keep up all the amazing things you do!!!

rmccouture
rmccouture @hsohailk You're very welcome Hina. I know how it feels. I lost my father to Dementia about 6 months ago. It was a terrible thing to witness. He was gone long before his body finally gave up. Were it not for the support of my PFFs, I wouldn't have been able to pay my rent. I'm disabled from a car accident I was in 3 years ago, and disability just doesn't cover the cost of taking care of my daughter & fur-babies. (cont)

cmjla You're amazing my friend! I hope life is treating you well babe! 😘 ❤️ 💕
Oct 22Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @cmjla Right back atcha Cynthia! It's been a tough couple of weeks. The unveiling of my dad's tombstone was today, & was grieving really hard up until today. It was a beautiful day. All of my cousins who live relatively local were there, which was really meaningful, because they are the sons & daughters of my mom, who passed 33 years ago (cont)
Oct 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @cmjla My Aunt, who is mom's final remaining sibling out of 5 kids was there as well. It's kind of unusual for the family of a woman who passed remains such closet ties to a man who got remarried (my step-mother is a saint, but still). Having them there, and spending the day with them was amazing. It was the kind of day that my dad loved, which was all I really wanted to have (cont)
Oct 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @cmjla Ever since my dad passed, my immediate family has been very estranged. My brother (who's like an Irish twin, only a year behind me in school,) and went through losing our mom, and everything else, stopped talking to me after my dad died. (cont)
Oct 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @cmjla That hurt a lot, but I had to accept it because I understood that he was connecting me to his grief over my dad, & even though it hurt, I had to keep my focus on how important family always was, and let go of my own hurt so that I could try to cultivate whatever kind of relationship we can have, and not focus on how I know my dad would have wanted it to be. (cont)
Oct 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @cmjla So I did that this weekend, and while it wasn't filled with warm, fuzzy moments, it wasn't bad, which is good! Lol. I feel relieved that the ceremonial aspects of my dad's passing are over, and while the 1 year anniversary of his actual death on Thanksgiving this year, will be hard, I have a little more peace after today. Sorry for going on! I'm shot! I didn't sleep last night, literally. (cont)
Oct 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @cmjla I've lost so much weight that nothing looks good on me, so I spent the whole night ripping through my closet (that I didn't have a chance to pick up yet!) so I'm a little slap-happy, and I love you, and know that you truly care, so I feel safe telling you babbling on and on... and on! I hope that if you ever need an ear, I am here for you! Love you Cynthia❤️❤️❤️

Nov 04Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @1cass06 Hey Jen! Congrats on your party! It's really cool that you want to support closets with a cause! Thanks so much for doing that! All of the closets that I am aware of supporting causes are tagged in this listing. The closets that I tagged describe the causes they support, and I believe they are compliant (although I can't remember if I vetted out all of them for compliancy. You may want to double check!) (cont)
Nov 04Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @1cass06 Some of the causes have passed (such as those that were supporting hurricane victims, etc.) but many closets still donate all or part of their proceeds to various charities. For example, @raccoonluc66 donates 100% of her proceeds to her animal charity, @marlanap donates to Habitat for Humanity, and @jennajadeleigh is raising money for the family of a man killed in the Las Vegas shootings (see the first posts in her closet for the information). (cont)

dehavenarts
dehavenarts Hi Amanda! I’m back with another question! A woman has bought an expensive item from me and - there was ‘animal interference ‘ and the item was sent to her post office ..... only .... she is not picking it up - hence - my $$$ is in suspense- what to do ?
Nov 20Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @dehavenarts ANIMAL INTERFERENCE??? What does that mean Eliza? Did the buyer's dog attack the postal worker? I'm sorry! It's not funny that your inventory/money are being held up by the situation, but the way you wrote that just cracked me up! The good news is that you will either receive your item back, or you will get paid. The post office has your package, so it's not lost (cont)
Nov 20Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @dehavenarts I would contact Poshmark & find out how long a buyer has to pick up an item that is waiting at the post office before it is returned to you. They were very good with me last winter, when I sold an emerald ring that never got returned to me. It was a $700 ring, and PM compensated me for it because it was the PO's fault that I didn't receive the return. (cont)
Nov 20Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @dehavenarts (I think I'm going to change my voicemail to say "Sorry I can't come to the phone right now. I'm experience animal interference!" BAHAHAHAHA! (Sorry again. If the status update on your tracking actually says "animal interference", it's the most bizarre shipping update I've ever heard of!) Please keep me posted on what happens, but don't worry! I'm fairly positive that you will get compensated, or have your item returned to you!❤️

Dec 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @ppamprrd Awww. Pamela! I'm sorry! It's supposed to be inspirational. I just lost my fur baby a week ago to lymphoma. I've been a wreck all week, but the vet & staff were so wonderful. It was the first time my daughter came with me to see one of our furry family members go. It was his time. Had I waited any longer, he would have suffered, and that is simply unacceptable in my book (cont)
Dec 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @ppamprrd It is a week today since he passed. I got his ashes delivered today and just lost it (again. I'm losing it several times a day). He had renal failure along with the lymphoma, & I had ordered prescription food for him. Since he no longer needed it, I brought the cases I had left, along with cookies my daughter & I baked to the animal hospital (it's called North Shore Animal League, & is 1 of the biggest no-kill shelters in the country) (cont)
Dec 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @ppamprrd We donated the food & extra meds (I had 2 full IV bags that were unopened) to donate back to the clinic. We made our own card, thanking the vet & staff for being so amazing. They truly are heroes. I could never work at a shelter. I'd leave with a new pet, or crying every time I went! (cont)
Dec 23Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @ppamprrd I think donating proceeds from our closets, even if it's a small amount, is a wonderful thing, as I am sure you do as well. Why does this make you sad? (I'm curious because I don't want to bum anyone out with this listing!) Happy holidays Pamela!❤️ Amanda

ppamprrd Amanda, one easy peasy idea that I did last month with my daughter: she had dozens of single long wonderful socks. Rather than landfill them, we stuffed with old tennis balls and knotted/braided and made dog toys. They were a fit at the animal shelter.

dragonflyclover
dragonflyclover @rmccouture Amanda, I believe this is an outstanding idea and all of the causes should be supported 100%. I’ve read through as many of your post as I possibly can and have not seen any that that support the cause of Mental Illness. A part of my proceeds go to the research of Mental Illness disorders specializing in Bipolar Dipolar Disorder. I am hoping that by sharing this on Poshmark I can reach and help those suffering from Mental Illnesses. I myself suffer from Bipolar Disorder.

Dec 26Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @dragonflyclover It's one of those diseases that tells the person who has it that they don't have a disease, which makes it so complicated. You are so strong & will help so many others by sharing your experience, strength & hope! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas, and wish you a New Year better than all of the years you've had before!❤️
Dec 26Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @dragonflyclover Not at all Emily! It's a wonderful;. extremely important cause that does not get enough attention! I am not sure what I wrote that gave you the idea that bipolar was risky, but I totally think that it's one of the most important diseases to share about! So many people struggle with it in silence because they don't have anywhere to talk about it. Shedding light on it, and the fact that there are solutions to help people deal with it, is tremendously important! (cont)

rmccouture @jerseysmiles908 Hi Patricia! I'm so, so sorry to hear of your family's loss. Cystic Fibrosis is a terrible disease. I pray that they find a cure for it. You are absolutely correct in saying that Christina lives on though. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It's the scientific Law of Conservation. You, me, Christina, animals... all living beings are filled with energy. When the vessel that carries that energy passes, the energy is released, as it cannot be destroyed (cont)

rmccouture
rmccouture @jerseysmiles908 I've "lost" many people in my life. My mom when I was 11, my brother when I was 28, best friends, taken so young... and most recently, my dad, who was my person. He passed about a year and a half ago. That is still a painful loss, however I know that in time, I will learn to see and sense him with the eyes I've developed to see and sense my mother and brother, and others who no longer walk the earth in human form. (cont)

rmccouture
rmccouture @jerseysmiles908 Death is not an ending; we just need to learn how to communicate with those we can no longer see in new ways. I know that my loved ones do more for me from where they are now, free of their human restrictions, than they ever could do for me before. I have positive energy all around me. (cont)
Mar 16Reply
rmccouture
rmccouture @jerseysmiles908 All I have to do is call on it, and I can feel it, and I know... I don't believe, I KNOW, that they are not gone. They are here. Your sister is right there with you, whenever you need her. Prayer and meditation helped me a lot. I'm not religious at all, but I am very spiritual, and I've had tremendous spiritual awakenings through prayer and meditation (especially meditation), which have shown me without question that those who have passed are still here. (cont)

It's so devastating to let a fur-baby go. I will definitely share your closet, and hope that you find comfort in knowing that your fur-baby's energy is still here; loving & watching over you. jillianka I love this, and I do too! My Neo has incurable Lymphoma, and Randi had mentioned reaching out to you just recently. He has a very aggressive form, and without his steroid and immunobooster, has trouble swallowing. Even so, we are keeping him comfortable. Hope you are well! Will I see you Aug 4th? Poshfest? Would love to. As far as causes, so many important ones. Some of my proceeds go to AFSP. Such an important cause for me. ❤️💕😘

jenshufo Hi Amanda @rmccouture, I would like to share a closet that was recently brought to my attention by another advocate Posher Jill @jillactica. She brought to my attention that a portion of all proceeds from @heatherhende218 ‘s closet goes to support the Ronald McDonald House charity. We would appreciate it if you can include her closet in your “Closets with Causes”, and thank you again for all you do to support Poshmark and giving back!!!

shoppatterns 🙏🏻 Thank you for this post! 🙏🏻 I do have a closet with a cause. My dad is suffering from cancer and all my earnings help in caring for his health. My family and I try our best to get him all his organic foods and especially his fresh green cold pressed juices. My sales also help with gas to get there since I don’t live so close by anymore. Thanks for caring! 💛💛💛 God bless everyone and all the causes we support!

dreama_anderson
dreama_anderson @rmccouture Hi. Thanks for bringing attention to closets with causes! I’d like to remind everyone that domestic violence shelters for women and children often need items that we sell on Posh as donations...often women must leave without much and underwear, bras, makeup, pajamas, robes, shoes, etc. well as daily wardrobe items may be left behind. I often donate these items instead of listing them. Just a thought💕

I sell on Poshmark to earn funds for their continued care. 5 of my 6 dogs are rescues. I have pictures of them throughout my closet. Nice to meet so many like-minded people! Hugs & Love to all...

rmccouture @1cass06 Hey Jen! It's so great to hear from you, and congrats on cohosting today! Here is my listing for closets that support causes. I opened another closet when I ran the Memorial for Mickey, a great young woman who passed away suddenly, about a year and a half ago. She donated all of her proceeds to help animals. I have to find the name of the closet I created. I will tag you on the listings, so you can see who really participated. (cont)

sextonstyle
sextonstyle I've just started listing on Poshmark and I was wondering if there is any type of feature where we can donate a percentage of the sale to a charity of our cause. I wanted to donate to RAINN, but was wondering what we can do to not only set up a percentage from each sale, but to let our buyers know that the money is actually going to the charity of my choice.

lsutigermeow
lsutigermeow Hi! I sell to benefit the AFSP and NAMI because I lost my dad and my brother in law to suicide. I’m buying most of my Cmas list from Posh closets with a cause, local small businesses that support charity, and swag stores owned by charities. The best swag store I have found is the Best Friends Animal Society store, whose goal is to eliminate no-kill shelters by 2025. Thanks for this post, it’s great inspiration and a great shopping resource!
