Beware of anyone trying to get money off of poshmark. TO ANYONE TRYING TO SELL A FAKE BAG: anything over $500 is sent to Poshmark's concierge service where they deem it real or fake. IF IT'S FAKE, they will KEEP IT AND SHUT YOUR ACCOUNT DOWN. So when partaking in illegal activity(selling counterfeits), be mindful of this 💋

cococabas Authentic Chanel bag: *ID tag inside bag matches Authenticity card *ID is 8 digits *Interior of bag will have the word Chanel+trademark stitched in gold or silver stitching inside the bag. If stitching is silver, the zip+hardware in the bag is silver. If the stitching is gold the zip+hardware in the bag is gold *Chanel has a GOLD square outline around Authenticity card, no rainbows! *Metal hardware on the Chanel bag is sturdy and MATTE :)

cococabas *On the CC logo the 'C" on the RIGHT overlaps the C on the left at the top of the logo always if it is authentic. *You can also tell if the Chanel bag is authentic by looking at the stitching on the handles. Handle stitching is continuous and exactly the same pattern Cheers!:)

There is no such thing as Authentic VIP Chanel gifts such as these backpacks, duffle bags, and totes that have magically started appearing by the hundreds online for $80-160 a pop online. I went into the Chanel Store in San Francisco and San Jose and brought the “ Authentic Chanel VIP Backpack” from Poshmark. They confirmed that Chanel gives VIP gifts but not these backpacks, totes, and duffle bags.

lianne82 I called another five different Chanel retail stores and they said the sane thing. These sellers are trying to pitch these fake Chanel Backpacks as Authentic Chanel VIP gifts from Asia, and you only get it if you spend XxX amount of money but don’t be fooled! The idea of being able to own a Chanel bag for around $100 definitely pulls on a girls heartstrings but snap out of it!!!

alexageee96 @jrobinson1121 yes! Like people said below all these bags are fakes! But the real VIP gifts say compliments of Chanel somewhere on the packaging. If the seller has no pic of that it’s a good sign it’s fake. I bought two “authentic VIP” Chanel duffles and each is different. One had the proper “Made in NYC” tag while the other had a made in China. Ultimately they are both fakes but I don’t mind as they are gym bags.

onebengalcat There is no such thing as vip Chanel whatsoever. I have worked as a part-time sells rep 2013-2016. I can confirm this as a FACT. Unless it’s a small compact cosmetics bag. It’s FAKE! You can look at all these listings on eBay. 99.5 percent of these sellers reside in Asia. Do your research google. The only real VIP chanel bags are on the RealReal.com. Look nothing like these imitation bags. Costs range between 1,000 to 1,500. Hope this helps.

alexageee96 @trickienickie it should only be on the packaging but also use your senses when buying. If the item is too big then it’s probably not an actual vip gift. VIP gifts are a thing though.

bhilla1 @cococabas It's nice to see someone else trying to help new poshers! I am an artisan at Chanel and see the craziest "VIP" items! FYI- Chanel does not have to promote anything. They do NOT make cheap knockoffs to give out, that would offend customers who spend $500,000 a year on their exclusive products. Chanel destroys more product than it sells every year. They destroy it to keep the cache of the name. If it is listed for a cheap price, expect the same quality.

Chanel has absolutely no reason to knock itself off! We destroy more new product that does not sell in a selling season than we sell in boutiques. Chanel NEVER goes on sale. The reason is they don't need to dilute the brand to sell off price.

Key to buying if its under 500 it cant be authenticated which means you buying a fake and if it seems too good to be true your buying a fake. Anything over 500 poshmark will receive it before you do to make sure its real or they refund you and disguard the item.

onebengalcat @aebrownell84 the tag will read compliments of Chanel makeup, skincare or parfumes. It will also say made in China. All the Chanel gift with purchase tags say made in China. Chanel gets those drawstring bags, zipper makeup bags and small pouches in bulk for pennies. Sell them as a gift with purchase through their skincare parfumes and cosmetic lines. Chanel has never had vip bags.

onebengalcat @aebrownell84 Those cheap bags are anything but “very important persons” You can spend 20,000 dollars on a Chanel bag. You still wouldn’t have vip status with them. Only the elite have that. Hope this helps.

sandidouglaspar I’m confused between Chanel and Chanel beauty- I’m guessing if you by makeup at say the Chanel makeup counter at Nordstrom you might get a free gift with purchase, like a little makeup bag? Do they give those out? But if they do I’m guessing you can’t sell them as “authentic Chanel?” (Like making people think they were from a Chanel store that sells leather handbags and accessories) Can anyone clarify?

This seller is still posting counterfeit items here (sum authentic but sum are counterfeit, the ones listed under$500 clearly. I had messed the seller regarding my concern siting the government code & The Department of Justice for Intellectual Property & the sellers “sister” reply’s w/ a claim that she passed away, but is still posting on here & on the other places. Anyone else have this issue?

rlfriend17 Yes so whenever I really want a item if they are selling it less than 500.00 I would offer 500 because I know that it will go for authentication however if it’s even 499.00 they will Not authenticate it. So make sure that your base offer is 500.00 for free authentication!!!

amberg411 @cindersnow12 you have to contact poshmark and file a complaint. Poshmark holds the funds you pay until you accept the item you purchased. If she never sends it after 3 days you can cancel the order. If she sends you the package and it isn’t what you ordered you can file a return and refund within 3 days do so right away don’t wait. Sorry that happened to you! People like this make a perfectly good shopping site bad.
